「シダネルとマルタン展」SOMPO美術館 "Sidanel and Martin Exhibition" SOMPO Museum of Art [Impression]
The exhibition of the two masters, called the Last Impressionists, seems to be the first in Japan.
To tell the truth, I was ashamed to say that I didn't know these two painters.
Although he is an Impressionist, he is also experimenting with expression techniques such as Neo-Impressionism and Symbolism.
Personally, Martin was fascinated by some of his works, including the roses drawn in Marqueroll.
I felt that the contrast between green and red of roses was very beautiful.
I also like the contrast between the blue of the sea and the orange of the fallen leaves. In other words, it was a complementary color scheme.
I was surprised at how simple my feelings were, and looked around half-convinced.
At first it was hard to tell which painter's work it was, but at the end it became clear what its characteristics were.
And it was a good exhibition where I could understand the reason why I was called a master.
