私の日記には、体重、体脂肪率、体温から、ジムに行ったこと、お酒を飲まなかったことなどが記号で示されている。

そのため、大晦日の今日は、その集計作業を行うことになる。
そして、その結果はデッサンを描いた回数とお酒を抜いた回数が目標に届かなかった。

冬場は順調にお酒を抜いていたのだが、やはり春になり夏になるとビールが飲みたくなり、なし崩し的に回数が減った。

デッサンは、毎週一枚描くことを目標にしたが、夏にカメラを買ったことで、時間がなくなった。

というのは言い訳で、これも途中から面倒になったのだ。

それでも、新しいことに挑戦出来たことには満足しており、健康と安寧に感謝している。

一年の目標は、ちょっと頑張れば達成できるくらいが良いらしいので、来年はちょうどいい加減の目標設定にしようと今は考えている。

My diary shows symbols from my weight, body fat percentage, and body temperature to the fact that I went to the gym and did not drink alcohol.

I had been steadily eliminating alcohol consumption during the winter, but in the spring and summer, I began to feel the urge to drink beer, and the number of drinks I had consumed decreased without warning.

As for sketching, I set a goal of drawing one picture every week, but I bought a camera in the summer, which left me no time to do so.

This was just an excuse, and it also became tedious during the course of the year.

Still, I am happy to have tried something new, and I am thankful for my health and peace of mind.

I have heard that it is good to set a goal for the year that can be achieved with a little effort, so I am now thinking of setting a goal for next year that is just about right.

ファンタスティック・ガラコンサート2022〜愛の花束〜 Fantastic Gala Concert 2022 - Bouquet of Love

神奈川県民ホールの年末年越しスペシャル企画であるガラコンサート。

今年のサブタイトルは「美に酔い、恋にときめく　至福のひととき」。

指揮と話は昨年に続き、三ツ橋敬子さん。勿論、演奏は神奈川フィルハーモニー管弦楽団。

そして、オペラは、ソプラノが森谷真理さん。メゾ・ソプラノが鳥木弥生さん。この二人は最近、「ゲキジョウシマイ」として、二人で舞台を行っているとのこと。
そして、テノールが城宏憲さん。

バレエは、昨年も参加した上野水香さん。男性は厚地康雄さんと振り付けも行ったブラウリオ・アルバレスさん。

そして、ピアノは岡本和也さん。
ヴァイオリンのソリストは、神奈フィルの首席ソロ・コンサートマスターである石田泰尚さんだ。

このコンサートは、オーケストラ、ソロ演奏、オペラ、バレエとクラシック音楽の全てを楽しめるごちゃ混ぜの特別演奏会だ。

私は今年で2回目だったが、前回同様に、プロフェッショナルの素晴らしい能力に驚く。

オペラ歌手の声。バレエダンサーの一挙手一投足。ソリストたちの超絶技巧。そして、指揮も演奏も普通の人には絶対に出来ないことをやっている。

特に、ヴァイオリンの石田泰尚さんとバレエの上野水香さんはとても華があり、目が釘付けになる。

それでも、お話タイムでインタビューを受けると、割とお茶目だったり、普通の受け答えをするところが微笑ましかった。

The Gala Concert is a special year-end New Year's Eve event at Kanagawa Kenmin Hall.

The subtitle of this year's concert is "A Blissful Moment of Drunken Beauty and Fluttering Love.

Conducting and speaking will be Keiko Mitsuhashi, as she did last year. Of course, the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra will perform.

The opera was performed by Mari Moriya, soprano. The mezzo-soprano is Yayoi Toriki. These two have recently been performing together as "Gekijoshimai.
And the tenor is Hironori Jo.

Ballet is Ms. Mizuka Ueno, who also participated last year. The men are Yasuo Atsuji and Braulio Alvarez, who also choreographed.

And the piano is by Tomoya Okamoto.
The violin soloist is Yasunao Ishida, principal solo concertmaster of the Kanna Philharmonic Orchestra.

This concert is a special concert that mixes orchestral and solo performances, opera, ballet, and all aspects of classical music.

This was my second time this year, and as before, I was amazed at the amazing abilities of these professionals.

The voices of the opera singers. The ballet dancers' every move. The superb technique of the soloists. And the conductors and performers doing things that ordinary people could never do.

In particular, Yasunao Ishida (violin) and Mizuka Ueno (ballet) were so spectacular that my eyes were glued to them.

Still, when they were interviewed during the story time, they were rather mischievous and gave normal answers, which made me smile.

横浜ヨルノヨ Yokohama cross night illumination

最近、私は仕事が終わってから、やたらとカップルとすれ違うなぁと思っていた。

そして、皆さん、このイルミネーションイベントに行っていたのだということに気がついた。

1月3日までしかやっていないので、折角なので、仕事納めの後に行ってみた。

一番最初は、山下公園。蜷川実花さんの企画だが、これは期待はずれ。
多分、上空からでないとよく見えないので、マリンタワーから見れば良かったかもしれない。

次に、大桟橋。ここからは、みなとみらいの夜景と、たまたま停泊していた飛鳥Ⅱが良かった。

写真のメイン会場は、なかなか素敵だったが、色合いが全て青っぽくて、写真映えはしないかも？

汽車道方面にも行ったが、やはりみなとみらいにある観覧車などが綺麗だった。

つまり、イルミネーションイベントがなくても、横浜の夜景は素晴らしいということ。

でも、夜景を撮るのはかなり難しかった。色々試行錯誤を繰り返したが、殆どの写真がボケてしまっていた。

そして、もう少し早い時間帯に訪れて夕景が撮れれば良かったと思う。
これは日の入り時刻が遅くなれば解決できるが。

約2時間、写真と動画を撮りまくったが、寒くて手が悴んでしまうことと、歩きすぎてしまい、とても疲れるということがわかったイベントだった。

Lately I have been thinking how I pass so many couples after work.

Then I realized that they were all going to this illumination event.

Since it is only open until January 3, I decided to go there after the end of the workday.

The first stop was Yamashita Park. This was a project by Mika Ninagawa, but it was a disappointment.
Perhaps I should have seen it from the Marine Tower, since you can't see it well unless you get out of the sky.

Next is the pier. From here, the night view of Minato Mirai and Asuka II, which happened to be docked, were nice.

The main venue in the photo was quite nice, but the shades were all blue, so maybe not so photogenic?

We also went to the Kishamichi area, but the Ferris wheel and other attractions in Minato Mirai were still beautiful.

In other words, the night view of Yokohama is wonderful even without the illumination event.

However, it was quite difficult to take pictures of the night view. I tried many different ways, but most of the pictures were out of focus.

And I wish I had visited a little earlier in the day to capture the evening view.
This could have been solved if the sunset time was later.

I took a lot of photos and videos for about two hours, but I found that the event was very tiring because I was cold, my hands were getting numb, and I was walking too much.

私の仕事は低調だが、仕事納めで区切りとなる。
 
仕事の方は、なかなかうまく行かない状況ではあるが、何はともあれ、仕事納めを迎えたことで、ひと区切りになる。
 
そうした意味では、この年末年始の休みというのは、仕事がうまく行っていても、行ってなくても、気分転換になる良い機会だ。
 
「まあ、これまでのことはこれまでのこととして、来年はリフレッシュして頑張ろう～！」と、全く根拠もなく喜べるのだから。
 
こうした機会がないと、悶々とするだけで、「やってられないよ〜！」
というのも真理かもしれない。

年末年始は休みという風習を作った日本の文化は素晴らしい。

明日からが楽しみだ。

「This is us」

アマゾンプライムで配信しているアメリカのドラマ。
先日、私はシリーズ６まで全106話を見終わった。
ということで、今、少し寂しい気持ちになっている。

物語は、36歳の男２人、女１人の３兄弟の人生を通したファミリードラマ。

実はこの兄弟は、三つ子として生まれたが、そのうち１人が死産だった。

そして、同じ日に生まれたが消防署前に捨てられた黒人の子が、この家族に引き取られて３兄弟として育てられた。

このドラマの特徴的なことは、時代が目まぐるしく変わること。現在、過去、未来と。

さらに、過去でもいろいろな時点が再現されるため、最初のうちはとても混乱した。

それでも、慣れてくるとすぐに話の流れが理解できるようになる。

人種、ＬＧＢＴ、政治、依存症、戦争、離婚、身体、病気など様々なテーマがあるため、現代のアメリカ人のものの考え方などが良くわかった。

このドラマは兄弟３人が主役ではあるが、実際には、若い頃から亡くなるまで一貫して代役を立てずに演じきった母親が中心になっていると私は感じた。

アマゾンプライムビデオを見ることが出来る方にはお勧めである。

I recently finished watching all 106 episodes up to series 6.
So I am feeling a little sad now.

The story is a family drama through the lives of three brothers, two male and one female, aged 36.

The brothers were actually born as triplets, one of which was stillborn.

Then, a black child born on the same day but abandoned in front of a fire station was taken in by this family and raised as three brothers.

What is unique about this drama is that the time period changes rapidly. Present, past, and future.

And even in the past, various points in time are reenacted, which was very confusing at first.

Nevertheless, as one gets used to it, one soon understands the flow of the story.

The various themes of race, LGBT, politics, addiction, war, divorce, the body, disease, etc., gave me a good understanding of the way Americans think today.

Although the three siblings are the main characters in this drama, I actually felt that the main focus of the story was their mother, who consistently played the role without an understudy from the time she was young until her death.

If you have access to Amazon Prime Video, I recommend it.

年忘れ財布も忘れケーキなし98 No cake at the end of the year when I forget my wallet.

いきなりサラリーマン川柳のようで申し訳ないが、情けない話なので、こんな川柳になった。

昨日、ジムに行く際に、「クリスマスケーキを買ってくるね〜！」と勇んで言って出かけたのに、途中で財布もカードも忘れていることに気づいた。

家族に申し訳ないので、帰宅後、改めて近くのスーパーに行ってみたが、ケーキを売っておらず、残念ながら昨晩はケーキなしとなった。

あれだけ「まかしておけ！」オーラで話していたのに、かなり情けない。

一年中の悪いことを忘れるのが、年忘れの意味だが、今回改めて悪いことが発生した。

もしかしたら、自分の歳を忘れて、確認しなかったのが災いしたのか？

昨日は、朝は自分の睡眠時間の長さに「若い！」と思っていたのに、夕方には「もう若くないのか？」と沈んだ一日となった。

オンラインでの英会話レッスンは休みにした。何故なら、クリスマスでお休みの先生が多くて、予約が取れなかったからだ。

フィリピンの先生らと話をしていると、家族が集まって、食べたり飲んだりしながら、自宅でカラオケを夜通し歌ったりするらしい。

カラオケを自宅でというのを除き、昔の日本のお正月の過ごし方に近いかもしれない。

ところで、今朝は久しぶりにiPhoneのアラームをセットしないですんだ。

ということで、9時間半も寝てしまった。年末年始の休暇中は適正睡眠時間の計測をするつもりだが、思いの外、よく寝れるものだと少し驚いでいる。

I talked to some teachers in the Philippines, and they told me that they have family gatherings where they eat, drink, and sing karaoke all night long at home.

今年最後の墓参りを終えて、鰻を食べることにした。

墓参りの前に店内を覗いたところ、土曜日のお昼だというのに客もスタッフも誰も見えなかったので、臨時休業なのかと、とても心配した。

「クリスマスイブだからかなぁ？」とか、「いつも鰻を焼いている高齢の女将さんに何かあったのかなぁ？」とか、根拠も理屈もなく考えてしまった。

墓参り後に行ってみたら、結局開いていた。

クリスマスイブに鰻を食べるという自分達が珍しいだけだと納得。

実は、美味しそうなので、ミラーレスカメラを取り出して写真を数枚写したが、よくよく見たら全てボケていた。

ということで、この写真は残念ながらiPhoneで撮ったもの。

鰻の味は良かったが、カメラについては後味が悪いランチだった。

After visiting the grave for the last time this year, we decided to eat eel.

I was convinced that we were just unusual in eating eel on Christmas Eve.

Actually, it looked so good that I took out my mirrorless camera and took a few pictures, but upon closer inspection, they were all blurry.

So, unfortunately, this photo was taken with an iPhone.

The taste of the eel was good, but as for the camera, it was a lunch with a bad aftertaste.

有明の儚き月の冬至かな96 The winter solstice of Ariake's ephemeral moon

夜明け前の散歩でふと気づいたのが、三日月。朝焼けの上の雲が仕切りになっていて、空の色が違うのが、少し不思議な光景であった。

グレーとオレンジという空の色と雲の上でシャープに光る月の姿がなんとも儚く感じたので、犬のリードを足で押さえつつ、写真を撮った。

残念ながら、スマートフォン撮影だったが、きちんと写真を撮るならば、夜明け前からよい撮影場所に行って、望遠レンズなどの機材も充実させないとならない。

今のところ、望遠レンズを買う決断がつかないが、少なくとも視点を変えれば、どこにでも素晴らしい被写体があることに気づいた冬至の朝であった。

(と言いたいところですが、実は冬至前日の朝でした。嘘ついてごめんなさい。)

I suddenly noticed the crescent moon on my pre-dawn walk. The clouds above the morning glow were partitions, and the different colors of the sky made for a somewhat strange sight.

Last year, I purchased this magazine and made a plan to visit art museums at the beginning of the year.

I like the fact that the magazine goes into depth in its coverage of each museum, which I could not find out from their websites or flyers alone.

Also, instead of an article for each exhibition, the magazine has a feature called "Zoom In! Art Exhibition Keyward" feature, which describes art exhibitions for each keyword, with a side-by-side prick.

I am now interested in visiting exhibitions of contemporary art, which I had not been interested in before, after reading the articles.

Personally, I would like to go to the "Art Exhibitions that will draw a lineup in 2023! I personally like the article by Yuji Yamashita and Goro Yamada, who commented, "This is the art exhibition that will have a lineup in 2023!

熱いが寒い「横浜キャノンイーグルス開幕戦」Hot but Cold "Yokohama Canon Eagles Opening Round"

18日に開幕したラグビーリーグワン。サッカーワールドカップの感想を優先したため、後回しになってしまった。

前シーズンから応援し始めた横浜キャノンイーグルスは、接戦をものにして今年も初戦を白星にした。

注目の南アフリカ代表のデクラーク選手も後半から途中出場。素晴らしいパス捌きやステップを見せるなど、多くの観客を唸らした。

試合は、終始イーグルスが先行。しかし、強豪の神戸スティーラーズも追いかけてきて、点差が離れない熱いゲームだった。

ただ、私自身はワールドカップ3位決定戦を見て寝ぼけていたのか、防寒対策をすっかり忘れてしまった。

しかも昼食も食べ損ね、口にしたのは水だけ。

お腹は減っているし、手先と足先の感覚がなくなるし、心も身体も冷え切ってしまった。

次回は、身体の芯から温められるような飲み物とおつまみを用意していこうかな？

Rugby League One started on the 18th. It was put on the back burner because I gave priority to my impressions of the Soccer World Cup.

Yokohama Canon Eagles, whom I started supporting from the previous season, won their first game again this year by winning a close game.

De Klerk, a South African national team player who has been attracting a lot of attention, started to play in the second half of the game. He impressed many spectators with his excellent passing and stepping skills.

The Eagles were ahead from start to finish. However, the powerful Kobe Steelers also came after them, and it was a hot game with a point difference that did not go away.

However, I myself was probably sleepwalking after watching the World Cup 3rd place game, and completely forgot to take warm clothes.

I also missed lunch, and had only a sip of water.

I was hungry, I couldn't feel my hands and feet, and my body and mind were cold.

Next time, maybe I should prepare some drinks and snacks to warm my body from the core.

最後まで栄光を手にするために死闘を繰り広げたファイナリスト達に拍手を送ります。(何故か敬語)

実は私、キックオフから数分間はしっかり起きていたが、ふと目を開けたらすでに2対0という驚きのスコアになっていた。

折角の決勝戦で大事な得点シーンを見逃すなんて・・・と、大後悔。

でも、このまま終わるはずはないと思っていた。案の定、後半に同点になった。

そして、延長に入り、追加点、また同点。「面白い！」とここで独り言がでた。

決勝戦というだけでなく、メッシとエムバペというパリＳＧのチームメイト同士の得点王争い。
キープレイヤーを早々に交代させるフランスの監督の采配など、見所は盛り沢山。

こんなに面白い決勝戦は近年見たこともなかった。

そして、世界で一番のスポーツであるサッカーの素晴らしさを感じた一夜だった。

ワールドカップが終わってしまい、今日から、少し寂しくなりそうだ。

ただ、睡眠時間だけはきちんと確保できるに違いない。

It was also an evening that made me feel the splendor of soccer, the number one sport in the world.

The World Cup is over, and from today on, it is going to be a little sad.

However, I am sure that I will be able to get a decent amount of sleep.

真夜中から始まった3位決定戦を観戦。クロアチアが90分で勝負をつけて3位となった。

モロッコは大半を占める応援団に後押しされたが、中2日の休暇しかなく、しかもセンターバック2人を含めて、負傷者が多かったのが残念だった。

また、PKの疑いもあった審判の判定にも泣かされたかもしれない。

個人的には延長戦になる予感はあったが、クロアチアの試合運びがとてもクレバーだった。

レジェンドのモドリッチを中心に上手く試合をコントロールして、完全に競合国の仲間入りをしたように思う。

本日が日曜日だったので、夜更かしも支障なかったが、決勝戦は月曜日。延長戦は困るが、最後まで競り合って欲しい気もする。

喜びのお裾分け Sharing the joy

今日は誕生日会に参加した。

主役は勿論、大喜びではしゃいでいた。それは当たり前。

自分を祝ってくれる誕生日会はまだ人生で3回目だから。

年齢を重ねると、残念ながら誕生日を嬉しいとは思わなくなる。

(少なくとも自分の経験では、そうだが、もしかしたら、100歳間近の人は違うのかもしれない。)

歳を取ったことを喜んでくれる身近な人がいなくなるからだ。

勿論、プレゼントをもらえたり、美味しいケーキや食事を食べたり、高級なレストランに行けるなら、普段の日よりもちょっとだけ嬉しいかもしれない。

でも、多分爆発的に嬉しいなんて人はいないだろう。

そう考えると、大人が喜び回ることが出来ることはとても貴重だと感じた。(例えばワールドカップのように)

大喜びではしゃぎ回る4歳児をみながら、その喜びをお裾分けをしてもらえるような心持ちでいることが、実はとても大事なことかもしれないと思った。

Today I attended a birthday party.

This is only the third birthday party in my life that celebrates me.

As I get older, unfortunately, I no longer feel happy about my birthday.

Given this, I felt that it is very valuable for adults to be able to go around rejoicing. (Like the World Cup, for example.)

It might actually be very important to be in a mindset that allows us to share in the joy of seeing a 4-year-old child who is overjoyed and excited.

ボクはもともと天使でした。だから立派な髪も羽もありました。

でも、源平合戦で負けて逃げてきた平家の落人達がボクを敵と思ったらしく弓で撃ってきたのです。

危うく射抜かれるところでしたが、ぎりぎりで逃げました。でも、羽に当たってしまったのです。それ以来飛べなくなりました。

天使にとって、飛べないということは、とても悲しく、毎日泣いて暮らしました。

そんな生活を続けていたら、髪もすべて抜け落ちてしまいました。

そこで、ボクは奴らに仕返しすることを考えたのです。

そう、あなたのお見込みのとおり。この谷の下には奴らの隠れ場所があるんです。伝説ではありません。事実です。

だから、ボクはとても怖くて縮こまっているけれど、奴らにオシッコをかけ続けているのです。

そして、得点こそしなかったが、エースのエムバペが素晴らしいことがよく分かった。
 
それでも、「旧宗主国対旧植民地」や「前回優勝国対初めてのアフリカ大陸」などの構図をみると、どうしてもモロッコを応援していた。
 
応援の甲斐なくモロッコにとっては残念な結果となったが、クロアチアとの３位決定戦が面白くなりそうだ。

そして、勿論、決勝戦はそれ以上に気になる。
 
月曜日の深夜にキックオフというのが、仕事に差し障りそうでかなり心配だが、見ない方が後悔するだろう。

仕方ない。英会話のレッスンも、犬の散歩も、朝食も諦めるか？

カタール大会で初めて、日本代表戦以外で睡眠時間を削った。それでも後悔はない。

そして明日のフランス対モロッコ戦を見るために早起きすることにした。

粘り強いはずのクロアチアを完全に撃破したのはアルゼンチン。
中でも弱冠22歳のアルバレスというファードのせいだ。

１点目はスーパーエースのメッシがPKを決めたが、きっかけをつくったのは、アルバレスだった。

だから、彼は事実上３点すべてに絡んだのだ。

そういうニューヒーローを見ることが出来るのも、ワールドカップの良さ。

そして、日本代表に足りないものを感じることも出来た。

アルゼンチンは、ゴール後のあの歓喜の輪を再び決勝で作れるか。

そして、キャプテンのメッシにトロフィーを抱かせることが出来るか。

それらも今後の楽しみの一つとなった。

フィリピンの英語表記に混乱 Confusion about English language spelling in the Philippines

フィリピンの英語表記は難しい。
国を表す場合は、「Republic of the
Philippines」で略称は「the Philippines」。

フィリピン人の場合は、phではなくFを使い「Filipino」。女性だと「Filipina」である。

毎朝Filipinaの先生と話をしているので、この程度のことは、勿論以前から知っていた。

が、何故なのかはよく分からなかった。

そこで、今回いろいろとググってみた。
しかし、「the Philippines」とtheを付けることや、最後に付く「s」の理由しか分からない。

そしてさらに謎は深まってしまった。「the Philippines」の場合は、間にあるｐが２つあるが、「Filipino」の場合は、１つだけ。

こんなことにも気づいてしまい、私の頭の中はさらに混乱してきている。

Filipinaの先生に聞いてもいいが、多分、「そう決まっているの」としか答えてくれない気がする。

仕方ない。分からないことはそのまま分からないままにしておくことにした。

もし、何かの拍子にわかったら、とても嬉しいだろうから。

手帳では「１月はじまり」だけでなく、新年度となる「４月はじまり」というものも多くなり、季節感が分散しつつあるが、カレンダーだけは「４月はじまり」というのを見たことがない。

そうした意味で、カレンダーがノベルティとして使えるのは、12月だけに限られる。したがって、当然だが主役級と言える。

実は、いつもカレンダー交換をして思うのだが、本当は相手に渡さないで、自分達で使った方がよいのではないかということ。

つまり、会社や組織の中で一番良いカレンダーだと思って注文したものならば、自分達で責任を持って使えばより効果的ではないかと思ってしまうのだ。

「それじゃ〜元も子もないよ〜」と言われそうなので、それ以上考えないことにするが、この商習慣は、日本独自のものなのか、それとも外国でも同様なのだろうか？

今朝、オンライン英会話のレッスンの際に聞かれたのが、「あなたの国で一番安い果物や野菜は何ですか？」という質問。

野菜については、「もやし」と自信を持って答えたが、果物はよく分からず、「蜜柑」と答えてしまった。

本当かどうかは分からないが、子供の頃、母親が蜜柑好きで、大量に買い込んでいて、いつでも蜜柑だけは食べることが出来たからだ。

さらに、友人が蜜柑農家で、以前収穫の手伝いに行っていた数年間、一冬分の蜜柑を送ってもらえたこともある。

また、パートナーの実家にも蜜柑の木があり、この時期になるともらうことが多いのだ。

つまり、冬にはいつも蜜柑が身近にあるから、そう思ってしまったのかもしれない。

もしかしたら、きちんと買えばそれなりの金額なのかもしれない。

でも、実際、何が最も安い果物なのか、よく分からない。

YouTubeへのアップに四苦八苦 Struggling to upload to YouTube

初めて動画をYouTubeにアップした。編集も大変だったが、動画をアップロードするのにも、かなり時間がかかることがわかった。

また、15分を超える動画だとダメなこともわかった。

再度、手続きをやり直して、もう一度チャレンジしたら、ようやくアップ出来た。

内容は友人らとの旅行の動画で、思いっきり個人情報なので、限定公開にしてある。

いずれにしても、YouTuberやvlogerの人は、こんなことを日常的にやっていて、しかも公開しているなんて、本当に凄いとしか言えない。

でも、新しいことに挑戦してみることは、やはり面白い。

「継続は力なり」だ。次こそは、公開できるような作品を作ってみたい。

公道でセグウェイ乗れるの？ Can you ride a Segway on public roads?

なんとなく、インストラクター的な人が一番前にいて、説明しながらだったのでググってみた。

すると、日本国内で唯一、都心臨海部公道でセグウェイが乗れるのが、ここ横浜だということが分かった。

「横浜セグウェイツアー」と題して、あくまで公道実証実験の一環だそうだ。16歳から70歳までの年齢制限や小型特殊自動車を運転できる免許証が必要だそうだ。

料金は、男一人で参加すると１万円だが、女性やカップル・夫婦だと9000円/人、さらに４人グループだと8000円/人と割引もあるそうだ。

２時間半のうち、講習に１時間を取られてしまうので、観光できるのは１時間半だけ。

横浜という見慣れた場所でなければ、間違いなく申し込むだろう。

でも、セグウェイにも乗ってみたいし、8000円で乗れるなら、３人ほど人を募ろうかどうか迷うところだ。

私はほんとに果報者でございます。それはなんと言っても、こんなに素晴らしい家があり、未だに仕事もあるからです。

実は、私が生まれたのは約200年前なんです。横浜が開港する40年も前です。

新田開発で人が多くなったこの辺りに生まれた私は、当時、随分人気者でした。

多くの村民の皆さんに可愛がられたもんです。「ありがたや～ありがたや～」なんて言いながら老若男女が拝みに来てくれました。

食べものも花も、たまにはお金も少しですが頂いたもんです。そして、身体も毎月、当番の人がやってきて綺麗に洗ってもらったものです。

あの頃の私は、それが当たり前だと思っていたので、そのありがたみがわかりませんでした。

その後は、日本で最初に電車が通り、異人さんが近くに来たりで、随分と騒がしくなりました。

でも、それなりに私は人気者のままでした。その後、大正の時代となり、あの恐ろしい関東大震災がありました。

幸い私は怪我もなく大丈夫でしたが、多くの仲間が亡くなり、山下公園の下に瓦礫と一緒に沈んでいます。

その後、昭和となり伊勢佐木町や元町が代わる代わる人気の商店街となりました。

最近では、造船所だったあたりが、みなとみらい２１なんていう洒落た街になり、大変驚きました。

ただ、そのおかげで、この辺りはすっかり人通りも減ってしまいました。

そうなると、私のことなど誰も見向きもしなくなりました。身体は汚れ、食べるものはなくなり、随分とひもじい思いをした時期が長くありました。

私の仕事は四つ角の往来の人を見守ることですが、それすらもなくなり、本当にどうしてよいか分かりませんでした。

そんな中、赤レンガ倉庫や馬車道商店街に人が集まりだしました。
さらには近くに地下鉄の駅が出来たりしました。
でも、私自身は以前のまま、家もなく腹をすかした毎日を過ごしていたんです。

そこへ突然、ここに牛鍋の店を作るという話がでたんです。私は凄く心配しました。
山下公園の下で眠る仲間のように横浜港に沈んでしまうのではと・・・

ところがです。奇特な人が現れたのです。この牛鍋屋の旦那様です。

そして、なんと勿体ないことに、私を風呂にいれ、さらに服も新調してくれました。さらにこんなに立派な家を建ててくださったのです。

おかげで、私は若い頃のとおり、人通りの多い四つ角の往来の安全を見守るという仕事に再び就くことが出来ました。

流石に食べるものは、他の動物がとってしまうのでありませんが、たまに美味しい牛鍋を頂いています。

だから、私は今、ほんとに果報者なんでございます。

He gave me a bath, and even gave me a new set of clothes. He also built such a splendid house for me.

Thanks to him, I was able to get a job again, as I had done in my youth, to watch over the traffic on a busy four-cornered street.

I don't have any food to eat because the other animals take it, but I sometimes enjoy a delicious beef casserole.

So, I am really happy now.

大雪にスイッチいれる敷き毛布91 Heavy snowfall switch on mattress blankets

サッカー日本代表も負けてしまい、応援の熱が冷めたこともあり、気候も気持ちもいよいよ本格的な冬になってきた。

たまたま本日は、二十四節季の大雪（たいせつ）。
横浜ではまだ雪が降り積もるようなことはない。

でも、ベッドの中に入ると冷たいと感じるようになってきた。
だから、寝始めは身体を丸めて縮こまったり、手足をさすったりして我慢して寝ていた。

そんな時、電気敷き毛布があることを思い出した。
これを使う時は、いつもベッドに入る前の20分くらいだけスイッチを入れておく。

もう我慢することもないのが嬉しいとともに、カレンダーに大雪という節目があることはありがたいことだと改めて思った。

「あ、そうだね。なかなか見れないいい景色だな～」

「しかも、上が白くなってる。」
「まだ、横浜では雪が降っていないけど、もう富士山の頂上では雪が降っているんだよ。」

「そうなんだ。じゃあ、僕、真っ白な富士山を上から見たいな～」
「そうか～。でも当面は無理かもしれないよ」

「どうして？」
「パパと翔太が高知のおばあちゃんちに行けるのは、この時期だけだからさ。」

「じゃあ、いつまでも白い富士山を見れないの？」
「そんなことはないよ。いつかは見れると思うよ。」

「いつかっていつ？」
「ん～。翔太が小学校を卒業したら、冬休みに行けるようになるかもな。」

「今でも冬休みはあるじゃん？」
「うん。でも、今、パパは翔太の冬休み中に仕事を休めないんだよ。それに翔太も冬休みのサッカー教室は休みたくないんだろ？」

「それはそうなんだけど。じゃあ、いつになったら見れるのかな～」
「パパが今の出向先から戻るのが、翔太の小学校卒業と一緒だから、そうしたら行けるかもね。」

「それはいつ？」
「４年後だね。」

「じゃあ、絶対に見たいので約束して！」
「わかった。ゆびきり〜げんまん・・・」

When? Maybe after Shota graduates from elementary school, we can go there during winter vacation.

I still have winter vacation, don't me?
Yes, but now Dad is working during Shota's winter vacation. But right now, Dad can't take off work during Shota's winter vacation. And Shota doesn't want to miss the soccer classes during the winter vacation, right?

「教養としての地政学入門」出口治明 "Introduction to Geopolitics as an Education" Haruaki Deguchi

私がコンプレックスを持っている「教養」という言葉と、最近よく目にする「地政学」が組み合わさっているタイトルに惹かれて読んでみた。

著者は、元ライフネット生命会長で、現在は立命館アジア太平洋大学学長。

これまで１万冊以上の本を読む読書家でもある。そして、世界の1200以上の都市を訪れている旅人でもある。

私の読書ペースで換算すると、150歳まで生きないと無理な１万冊というレベル。

さらに宝くじを当てて仕事を辞めても、1200都市を訪れるのはまず無理そうだと思いながら、読み進んだ。

全体の構成は、「地政学とは？」、「陸の地政学とは？」、「海の地政学とは？」、「日本の地政学とは？」、「地政学の二冊の古典について」という５章立てになっている。

「国は引越しできない」という前提のもと、古代から近代までの歴史のかなり詳細な部分まで切り込んでいるので、とても勉強にはなる。

個人的には、少しマニアックすぎると感じた部分もあるが、何点か気づかされた点があったことは嬉しかった。

例えば、大英帝国（著者はイギリスとは言わない）とEU諸国との感覚の違い、アメリカ、ニューヨークの以前の地名、南米で何故ブラジルだけがポルトガル語なのかなど。

そして、日本の江戸時代の鎖国は良くなかったという意見にも目を見開かされた。

そんな中で、一番納得感があったのは、日本の地図を北を下にしてみてみることで、ロシアや中国がどう思っているかが分かるという説明。

さらに、日本が同盟を結べる国はどこかということも。

そして外交は現実を見極めながら判断しなければならないということも、とても納得した。

始めて国会議員になった人には少なくとも一読して欲しい本である。

I was attracted to this book by its title, which combines the word "liberal arts," which I have a complex about, and "geopolitics," which I have been seeing a lot lately.

The author is the former chairman of Lifenet Insurance and currently president of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.

He is also a voracious reader, having read more than 10,000 books to date. He is also a traveler who has visited more than 1,200 cities around the world.

At my reading pace, that is a level of 10,000 books that I would have to live to be 150 years old to reach.

And even if I won the lottery and quit my job, it would be impossible for me to visit 1,200 cities, I thought as I read on.

The overall structure of the book is as follows: "What is Geopolitics?" What is the geopolitics of land? What is the geopolitics of the sea? What is the Geopolitics of Japan? and "Two Classics of Geopolitics.

Based on the premise that "countries cannot move," the book goes into considerable detail on history from ancient times to the modern era, making it very informative.

Personally, I found some parts a bit too maniacal, but I was glad to have noticed some points.

For example, the difference in feeling between the British Empire (the author does not call it the United Kingdom) and EU countries, the former place names of the United States and New York, and why only Brazil is Portuguese in South America.

And I was also opened my eyes to the opinion that Japan's isolation during the Edo period was not a good thing.

What made the most sense to me was the explanation that by looking at a map of Japan with the north at the bottom, one can see what Russia and China think of it.

Furthermore, which countries Japan could ally with.

And I was also very convinced that diplomacy must be judged based on reality.

This is a book that should be read at least by those who have become Diet members for the first time.

ボールペンが台無しに? The ballpoint pen is ruined

テーブルから何かが落ちると必ず飛んできて、くわえてしまう我が家のトイプードル。

いつもはソファの上で寝ているのに、この時だけはとても俊敏な動物になる。

今回、彼の餌食になったのが、ノック式ボールペン。書き味が良く、しかもノック音も感触も良いので、私はかなり気に入っていたものだ。

流石に彼もボールペンを食べられるとは思っていなかったようだが、絶対に口から離さない。

その場合、大好物の干し鱈のおやつをあげるのがセオリー。

残念ながら、ノックが出来なくなり、芯が出っ放しになっていた。

まぁ、犬に怒っても仕方ないので、持ち主としては、意地でもこれを使い続けることで、台無しではなかったと思うことにした。

Unfortunately, he could no longer knock and the lead was left sticking out.

Well, there was no point in getting mad at the dog, so as the owner, I decided to keep using this thing, even if it meant to, so it wasn't ruined.

東京の空は違う？ Is the Tokyo sky different?

東京に行くと、何故か空を見上げてしまう。
何故かは分からない。

高層ビルが多くて、自然光が少ないから？
それとも、息苦しく感じるのか？

鳥が建物のカーテンウォールにぶつからないか心配だからか？
もしかしたら、根っからのお上りさん体質なのかもしれない。

横浜でもそんなに変わらないのに・・？　
と思うこともあるが、やはり東京はどこか違う気がする。

いずれにしても、恥ずかしいから、今後はカメラだけ上を向けて撮ろうかなと考えている？

When I go to Tokyo, I look up at the sky for some reason.

嵐を呼ぶサムライブルー Storming Samurai Blue

なんと、スペインにも勝ってしまったサッカー日本代表。

ドイツ戦と同様に、圧倒的に押される中で、後半からの交代が功を奏した。

同時開催されているドイツ対コスタリカ戦は、刻々と点数が加わっていたので、まだ何が起こるか分からないと不安を持ちながら、最後まで我慢しながら見終えた。

そして、勝ち切れた時にやっとガッツポーズ。

真剣勝負の中で強豪の２か国に勝ったことで、日本の実力がフロックではないことを証明できたのではないか。

そして世界中から、日本チームが今大会の「台風の目」だと思われているのではないだろうか？

と思ったが、台風は極東のこのあたりだけなので、「嵐」と言い換えておく。

決勝トーナメントでも是非、大きな嵐を巻き起こして欲しい。

What a surprise, Japan's national soccer team beat even Spain.

As in the game against Germany, they were overwhelmingly pushed, but their second-half substitutions paid off.

The Germany-Costa Rica match being held at the same time was adding up the scores by the minute, so I finished watching it with patience to the end, still anxious to see what would happen.

And when the game was won, I was finally gutted.

I think that Japan's victory over two strong countries in a serious match proved that Japan's ability was not a fluke.

And all of the world must think that the Japanese team is the "eye of the typhoon" in this tournament.

I thought so, but since typhoons are only found in this part of the Far East, I will paraphrase the word "storm.

I would love to see them create a big storm in the final tournament as well.
