この本は、二人の作家による対談記録である。私にとっては、異色の組み合わせだと思ったので、読んでみた。しかし、互いに尊敬しあっていたようだ。そして、どちらもロシアのことに詳しいという共通点があることが、読み進むうちに分かった。
対談の内容は、とりとめのないようで、実は奥が深い。ちょうど出版されたのが、クリミア半島をロシアが強引に併合してしまった後で、ロシアの根底にある考え方を探ろうとしたのが、この対談の目的だったようだ。
でも、話はそれだけにとどまらず、宗教の話、詩の話、学ぶべき人の話など多岐にわたる。
当然ながら、ロシアに詳しい二人なので、ロシア人のお酒の飲み方から、近隣国からみたロシア、そして日本のロシア外交の薄さなどにも言及している。
出来れば、もう一度、今現在のウクライナ情勢を含めて対談してもらえると、より理解が深まると私は感じた。
ロシア人の背景にあるもの、ウクライナに対するロシア人の考えなどを知る意味では、古い本であるが参考になると思う。
This book is a record of a dialogue between two writers. For me, I thought it was a unique combination, so I read it.
However, they seemed to respect each other. And, as I read, I realized that both of them have something in common that they are familiar with Russia.
The content of the dialogue seems to be rambling, and in fact it is deep. It seems that the purpose of this dialogue was just to explore the underlying ideas of Russia after Russia forcibly annexed the Crimean Peninsula.
However, the story is not limited to that, and it covers a wide range of topics such as religious stories, poetry stories, and stories of people to learn.
Of course, since they are familiar with Russia, they also mention how Russians drink, Russia from the perspective of neighboring countries, and Japan's weak diplomacy.
If possible, I felt that it would be better to have a dialogue including the current situation in Ukraine.
It is an old book, but I think it will be helpful in terms of understanding the background of the Russians and the Russians' thoughts on Ukraine.
