海上自衛隊 試験艦あすか 世界初のレールガン洋上発射実験成功！ The Maritime Self-Defense Force test ship ASUKA successfully conducted the world's first offshore railgun firing test!

昨年10月にニュースになったレールガンの洋上発射実験成功。その実験を行った船が試験艦あすか。

海上自衛隊の様々な装備や設備の試験を行う役割を担っており、日本にはこれ一隻しかない船です。

世界的にも試験専用の艦艇は珍しいそうです。

因みにレールガンとは、電磁砲で、火薬を使わず、電気を元に磁力を発生させて、弾丸を飛ばす新しい兵器です。

マッハ5以上のスピードがでるため、極超音速の誘導弾などに対応出来ると期待されています。

まだ、実用化出来ていないのですが、10年間研究を続けてきたアメリカではすでに開発を諦めたそうです。

The successful offshore launch experiment of a railgun made the news last October. The ship that conducted the experiment was the test ship ASUKA.

It is the only ship of its kind in Japan and is responsible for testing various equipment and facilities of the Maritime Self-Defense Force.

It is said that a ship dedicated to testing is rare in the world.

The rail gun is an electromagnetic gun, which is a new weapon that does not use gunpowder but generates magnetic force based on electricity to send bullets flying.

It is expected to be able to respond to hypersonic guided missiles because it can reach a speed of Mach 5 or faster.

It has not yet been put to practical use, but the United States, which has been researching it for 10 years, has already given up on its development.
