YOKOSUKA軍港めぐり YOKOSUKA Military Port Cruise

海上自衛隊と米海軍の艦艇を同時に船上から見ることができるクルーズとして、徐々に人気になってきているこの軍港めぐり。

今回、このクルーズに参加したのは、護衛艦いずもという日本最大級の艦艇が、空母いずもに改修される前に、見ておきたかったから。

しかし、それ以外にも南極観測船として有名な砕氷艦しらせや、米国の駆逐艦なども見ることができました。

中でも、米海軍唯一の「ケーブル敷設艦ゼウス」という珍しい船が、着岸していたのは、なかなかラッキー。

いずれにしても、日々入れ替わる艦艇について、豊富な情報をもとに、分かりやすく解説、案内してくれるガイドさんのトークが素晴らしく、何度でも行きたくなるクルーズです。

This cruise is gradually becoming popular as a way to see both the Ｊapan Maritime Self-Defense Force and U.S. Navy vessels from the ship at the same time.

I joined this cruise because I wanted to see the destroyer Izumo, one of Japan's largest naval vessels, before it is refitted into the aircraft carrier Izumo.

However, I was also able to see the icebreaker Shirase, a famous Antarctic observation ship, and a U.S. destroyer.

Among them, I was quite lucky to see a rare ship, the Zeus, the only "cable laying ship" of the U.S. Navy, which had landed on the shore.

In any case, the guide's easy-to-understand explanations and guidance based on a wealth of information about the naval vessels, which change on a daily basis, were excellent, making this a cruise that I would like to return to again and again.
