海上自衛隊 試験艦あすか 世界初のレールガン洋上発射実験成功！ The Maritime Self-Defense Force test ship ASUKA successfully conducted the world's first offshore railgun firing test!

昨年10月にニュースになったレールガンの洋上発射実験成功。その実験を行った船が試験艦あすか。

海上自衛隊の様々な装備や設備の試験を行う役割を担っており、日本にはこれ一隻しかない船です。

世界的にも試験専用の艦艇は珍しいそうです。

因みにレールガンとは、電磁砲で、火薬を使わず、電気を元に磁力を発生させて、弾丸を飛ばす新しい兵器です。

マッハ5以上のスピードがでるため、極超音速の誘導弾などに対応出来ると期待されています。

まだ、実用化出来ていないのですが、10年間研究を続けてきたアメリカではすでに開発を諦めたそうです。

相田みつを美術館閉館 Mitsuo Aida Museum of Art closes.

来週1月28日をもって、閉館になるとのニュースを聞いて、慌てて行って来ました。

随分前に一度訪れたことがありましたが、相田みつを氏が曹洞宗の開祖、道元禅師の教えに影響を受けていたことは知りませんでした。

そして、若い頃に書道展で何度も入選するほど、崩していない美しい字を書いていたことも知りませんでした。

そして、その後、あの独特の書体も試行錯誤をした上で、編み出された書体であることも、初めて知りました。

今回は、「いまここ」という字が書かれたポストカードを買って帰りました。

I had visited the museum once a long time ago, but I did not know that Mitsuo Aida was influenced by the teachings of Zen master Dogen, founder of the Soto sect of Zen Buddhism.

潜望鏡が動くところが見れました

横須賀地方総監部の一般公開で、潜水艦うずしおを見てきました。潜水艦の一般公開は珍しいのですが、頻繁に通う私のような人間は、毎回同じような画ずらになってしまい、写真や動画を撮るときに、困ってしまいます。

しかし、今回は、機器作動展示といって、潜望鏡や潜舵（せんだ）を動かしてくれました。

特に、潜望鏡が動くのを初めて実際に見たので、少し感動しました。
よくよく見ると、トラ柄の模様が入っているのがわかり、可愛らしい感じでした。

潜水艦を助ける救難艦とは？ What is a rescue ship that helps submarines?

「海の忍者」「海の隠密」などと言われる潜水艦。
どこにいるか分からないので、最強の兵器とのことで、最近は各国がその確保に躍起になっています。

その潜水艦を救助する船があると聞いて「えっ？」と不思議な気持ちになりました。その船は潜水艦ではなく、水上艦だったからです。

どこにいるかを敵どころか味方にもわからないように行動している潜水艦が助けを呼ぶ際に、水上艦が行ったのでは、元も子もないのでは？と思いました。

でも、万が一、潜水艦が動けなくなり、しかも浮き上がることも出来なければ、乗組員は助かりません。

だから本当にいざという時にために、潜水艦救難艦が用意されて
いるのです。

そして、この救難艦があるからこそ、潜水艦乗りの皆さんは安心して、潜水艦に乗ることができるということが分かりました。

写真の潜水艦救難艦ちよだは、海上自衛隊が保有する２隻のうち、横須賀に配備されている一隻です。

111年目の中原淳一展 Junichi Nakahara Exhibition in its 111th year

横浜駅東口にあるデパート「そごう」内にある美術館で、開催されていました。

戦前から戦後にかけて、若い女性から支持を得ていたイラストレーターというイメージを私は持っていました。

しかし、その理解は足りていないことが、展示を見て、よくわかりました。

勿論、圧倒的に若い女性らに影響を与えたのは間違いがないのですが、単にイラストだけでなく、ファッション、インテリア、雑誌編集など、様々な領域で活躍していた人であることがわかりました。

そして、そのデザインや考え方が、回り回って、新しく感じました。

そうした意味で111年というのは、興味深い企画です。

ちなみに、彼の「少女や女性に対する感性、情熱」は、当時の日本では、かなり珍しがられたのではないかと、心配もしました。

でも、時代のトップランナーとはそういうものだったのかもしれませんね。

原子力空母ロナルド・レーガンはひとつの街？

米海軍の原子力空母ロナルド・レーガンは、今年の春には本国に修理のために戻ってしまうと知ったので、私は、それを一度見ておきたいと思い、YOKOSUKA軍港めぐりに参加しました。

その際、ガイドさんの説明を聞いて驚きました。乗員は6000名もいて、艦内には病院、歯科医院、
郵便局のほか、スターバックスコーヒーもあるとのこと。

さらに、日本の筋肉系タレントさんが艦内のジムを訪れた際、６つもジムがあることがわかりました。

ジムやスターバックスがあるくらいなので、ほかにも生活に必要な施設があるのでしょう。

米国海軍の中で唯一、他国に配備されているからなのか、米国の空母はそうしたものなか、わかりませんが、まるでひとつの街のようです。

潜水艦どころでない正月 New Year's Day, not just a submarine

旧年中は、私の拙いブログにお付き合いいただき、ありがとうございました。
本年もどうぞよろしくお願いします。

昨日は能登半島で大地震が発生し、津波も押し寄せ、多くの被害がありました。被災された方々やその関係の皆さんには、さぞかし辛く、悲しい元旦になったことと思います。

また、本日もJAL機が大炎上するなど、驚くような事故が発生しました。

なんとも、予測不可能な正月になってしまいました。

ということで、本当は潜水艦どころではないのですが、今年の抱負でもあるので、ご容赦下さい。

今年は、概ね月に2回は潜水艦等の一般公開が横須賀基地で行われるので、その関係の投稿が中心になると思っています。

潜水艦は海の隠密で、艦内やその行動まで全て秘密になっています。

さらに、日本では横須賀と広島の呉にしか潜水艦の母港がないので、頑張って、横須賀に通い、出来る範囲で隊員さんにインタビューなどをするつもりです。

とは言え、本当に何があるかわからない日々が続いているので、とにかく柔軟に、臨機応変に対応していく所存です。お許しください。
