今年初めて出たジムのカーディオ・キックボクシング。有酸素運動であるとともに、脚に効く筋トレでもある。

そして、最後にマットを敷いて恒例の腹筋。以前から、自重なのにかなりきついとは感じていたが、とうとう攣ってしまった。

いかに年末年始に怠惰な生活をしていたか、これで証明された。

そして、わかったことがある。
筋肉は正直だということ。

その時、座右の銘である「継続は力なり」という言葉が思い浮かんだ。

動画編集にチャレンジ Video Editing Challenge

ずっと放りっぱなしにしておいた動画の編集にようやく着手することにした。

まずは、SONYのαアカデミーで教えてもらったAdobe premier rushという無料で使えるソフトをダウンロード。

さらに、Adobe社の公式サイトが配信するYouTube動画で基本的な使い方を学んだ。

そして、10月に行った伊豆大島の旅の編集を始めた。

友人と行った旅だったので、編集しなくても結構面白いのだが、さらに見やすくするために、不要な部分をカットしたりする。

また、さらに面白くするために、テロップも入れてみた。

ついでに音を消したり、音楽を入れたりもしてみた。

まだまだ完成にはならないが、お正月に友人達に配信するために、少し頑張ってみようという気になっている。

I finally decided to start editing a video that I had been neglecting for a long time.

First, I downloaded a free software called Adobe premier rush, which I learned about at SONY's Alpha Academy.

Then, I started editing my trip to Izu Oshima in October.

It was a trip I took with a friend, so it was quite interesting without editing, but to make it even easier to watch, I cut out unnecessary parts.

To make it even more interesting, I also added some tickers.

I also added music and turned off the sound.

It's not quite finished yet, but I'm willing to try a little harder to distribute it to my friends at New Year's.

生きるムラサキオカヤドカリ Living Purple hermit crab

沖縄読谷村の海岸近くの歩道で見つけたムラサキオカヤドカリ。

実は、天然記念物に指定されている。それなのに、貝ではなくゴミの鉄筒を宿にしていた。
 
これを見てどう思っただろうか。

「可哀相、面白い、大丈夫？、人間社会の被害者、貝を探せないバカ、紫と銀が綺麗、どうせ一時の宿、生命力が強い」など様々な意見がありそうだ。
 
どの意見も正しいと思う。

いずれにしても彼は生きている。

伊豆大島に行った際に利用した電子通貨しまぽ。

全国旅行支援とは別に東京都が伊豆諸島など11の島々で使えるようにスマートフォン用発行している。
 
１万円の宿泊旅行商品券を7000円で購入することが出来、そのうち必ず3000円分は宿泊施設で利用することになっている。
 
私自身は2泊3日の伊豆大島の旅で3万円分を購入。実費は2.1万円だったので、9000円は得したことになる。

全国旅行支援とも併用できるので、頭の中がこんがらがってしまったが、得したことは間違いない。
 
少なくとも、大島においては、全国旅行支援のチケットより使える店舗や施設が各段に多かった。

来年3月末まで利用できるので、伊豆七島や八丈島などに行ってみようと思う人には、検討をお勧めする。

多分、自分の仕事では直接的な影響は少ない。

一番の懸念材料は海外旅行。次こそは、ウィーンとプラハに行くと決めているが、余計に揺らいでいる。

確かに国内でも、まだまだ楽しめる場所はあるはずだが、海外旅行で使うつもりで、毎日やっているオンライン英会話が無駄にならないようにはしたい。

世界の中でも遅れていた日本における海外旅行の水際対策が11日から大幅に緩和された。
併せて、全国旅行支援も始まった。

台湾では日本への旅行が大盛況との報道もあったが、海外から日本への旅行者は、近年ないほどの円安もあり、相当にお得感も増している。
 
そうした意味で、これまで大変厳しい状況だった旅行業界にとっては、待望の日となった。

ただ、私自身は半分しか喜べない。
何故なら、国内旅行は全国旅行支援の恩恵を受けることなる一方、最も行きたいヨーロッパ旅行に新たなハードルが出来てしまっているからだ。
 
それは、マイレージを使うにしても、燃油サーチャージが異常に高くなっていること。

コロナ禍でキャンセルしたウイーンやプラハに行くには、ロシア上空を飛べず、14時間以上と大幅に時間がかかること。

さらに、現地に行っても円安の影響で宿泊や食事の費用がかなり割高になることなどだ。
 
そんなことを気にしていたら、何時までたっても行けないわけなので、そろそろ計画を立てなければとは思っているものの、何故か踏ん切りがつかない。
 
これもコロナ禍で発想が内向きになってしまったからなのだろうか。

不思議なミラーボール Mysterious Mirror Ball

この写真は、子供用のおもちゃのミラーボール。昼間の割と明るい部屋で撮影したのに何故か暗くなっている。

実はまだ私は基本的なカメラの操作に慣れておらず、とりあえずシャッターを押したら、こんな風変わりな写真になったのだ。

ちょっと、ミラーボールは動いているし光っているので、露出もシャッタースピードも考えなければならないのだが、今後2つの方法を考えている。

一つはきちんとこの写真のデータを分析してみること。

そして、もう一つは、同じようにミラーボールをセットして、いろいろな撮り方をしてみること。

多分、上達するには、両方とも必要なのかもしれないが？

みなとみらい恐竜ワールド Minatomirai Dinosaur World

横浜ランドマークタワーとマークイズみなとみらいで夏休みの企画として開催中の恐竜ワールドに行ってみた。

 

実際には、夏休みは関係ない3歳児を連れて行った。

 

本人は「恐竜が好き」と言っていたが、いざ、動いて吠える恐竜を目にすると、後ずさりして近づけない。

 

なんと、「食べられちゃう〜」とのこと。よくよく聞いてみると、好きなのは「恐竜のぬいぐるみ」だった。

 

仕方なく、トイザらスにぬいぐるみを買いに行く。しかし、結局買わされたのは、恐竜のシールがついたトラックだった。

 

仕方ない。

 

振り回されても、疲れても、許す。

モンベル日傘、少し自慢？ Montbell sunblock umbrella, I'm a little proud?

昨夜、ニュースを聞いて驚いた。モンベルの日傘、サンブロックアンブレラが人気で商品が品切れ状態で、新たな入荷は12月頃になるという。

 

「へっ〜、そうなんだ。自分はもう3〜4年も前から使っているけど、やっと皆さん、モンベルの日傘の良さが分かったんだ〜」と、心の中で叫んでしまった。

 

かく言う私も、以前は普通のトレッキング用の傘を夏の日傘として使っていた。しかし、ちょっと壊れてしまい、直してもらいながら、新しい傘を晴雨兼用として購入したのだ。

 

モンベルの素晴らしいところを少し宣伝すると、これまで一回ずつ傘の部分が壊れたが、いずれも100〜200円くらいの修理費で直してもらえた。

 

企業の理念として、長く使ってもらうためだということを店頭のスタッフから聞かされた時は、よりモンベルフリークになってしまった。

 

未だに傘だけでなく、通勤カバンから普段使いの種々のバックなどを利用している自分にとっては、品切れになった日傘のニュースを聞いた時、ちょっとだけ鼻が高くなってしまった。

 

やっぱり、大した人間ではないんだなぁと思うけど。

I used to use an ordinary trekking umbrella as a summer parasol.  However, it was a little broken, and while I was having it repaired, I bought a new umbrella for both sun and rain.

 

When I advertised Montbell's wonderful points, the umbrella part broke once so far, but each time it was repaired for about 100 to 200 yen.

 

When I heard from the staff at the store that the company's philosophy was to have the product used for a long time, I became more of a Montbell freak.

 

For me, who still uses not only umbrellas but also various everyday bags from my commuting bag, when I heard the news about parasols that were out of stock,  I'm a little proud.

 

After all, I don't think I'm a tolerant person.

ミラーレスカメラ購入「SONY ZV-E10」Mirrorless camera purchase "SONY ZV-E10"

最近、ブログを見ていると、プロでなくとも、とても素敵な写真を撮って掲載されているなぁと常々感じていた。

さらに、立て続けにプロの写真の展示会に行って、写真の奥深さも感じていた。

これまで、ブログや旅行サイトへの投稿には写真の出来なぞ気にせずに送っていたが、やはり、スマホのカメラでは物足りなくなっていた。

そんな中で、あまり重たくなくて、手軽に格好いい写真を撮りたいと思って、決めたのが、SONYのZV-E10というミラーレスカメラである。

実はこのカメラは、静止画用よりも動画撮影用として作られているそうだが、値段と重さなどを考慮してこれにした。

まだ、Wi-Fi接続などがうまく行かないが、少しずつ使い方に慣れて、いい写真を撮ってみたい。

そして、ゆくゆくは、動画でのブログにも挑戦したいのと野望を持っているが、兎に角一歩一歩マスターしていこう。

And I have ambitions to eventually try blogging with videos, but let's master it step by step.

実物を描けと言うけれど The teacher says to look at the real thing and draw it

デッサンに限らず絵は実物をよく見て描けと教えられる。
それはもっともなことだと理解するが、家族以外の人を描くなら、モデルを頼まなければならないし、動物や植物も現地に行かないとならなくなる。

まあ、植物ならなんとかなるが、動物の場合は、止まっていてくれないので、例えよく慣れたペットでも描くのは困難だと思う。

そうなると、動物や植物、人間なのどは、やはり写真を見て描くのが、手っ取り早くなってしまう。

今回はみみずくの毛の質感に挑戦したが、やはり今ひとつ満足な質感には到達していない。

それでも、とにかく継続は力なりを信じて、描き続けてみるつもりだ。

「土用の丑の日は鰻」を1週間前倒し "Eel on the day of the Ox" is one week ahead of schedule

日本では夏から秋に変わる土用の丑の日は、昔から重要な日だと位置付けられている。そして今年のその日は来週の23日。

しかし何故、1週間前倒しなのか？
それは、単に鰻屋が混むだろうと思ったからだ。
また、墓参りをするので、家族が揃ったことも理由の一つである。
もしかしたら、むしろ、こっちの理由の方が強いかもしれない。

とりあえず、雨の中で無事2つの墓参りを済ませて、鰻屋に行ってみると、すでに席は満席であった。
やはり、皆考えることは同じなのだ。

それでも、テーブル席でなく宴会用の座敷に通してもらい、約30分待つと美味そうな鰻重が目の前に来た。

先日、仕事場で頼んだ仕出し弁当屋の900円の中国産の鰻重とは、やはり全く違う。

美味しく頂き、お腹いっぱいになり、多分とても暑い夏を乗り切るだけの精力もついたはずだ。

値段が高くなければ、頻繁に食べたいが、多分一年に1〜2回しか食べに来れないだろう。

キスしたくなるような唇？ Lips that make you want to kiss?

前回描いたバナナに続き、「誰でも30分で絵が描けるようになる本」の２番目のレッスン。

今回は「キスしたくなるような唇」がテーマだ。この本では、対象物の全体の形をおおまかに捉えた上で、バランスを整え、陰影をつけ、詳細を仕上げていくという流れで教えている。
 
写真は、顔から唇だけ抜き出しているので、少し違和感があるが、練習用なので仕方がない。私は余計なことを考えずに早速、描き始めた。
 
まずは、上に描かれているように、二等辺三角形が二つと丸を４つ描いてみる。これが全体のバランスという意味では重要なようだ。

実際に描いてみた結果、前のページで著者が描いた絵とはだいぶ違った。

それでも、目を細めてみると、なんとなくそれらしく見えるから不思議だ。それがキスしたくなるかどうかは不明だが。

In the photo, only the lips are extracted from the face, so it feels a little strange, but it's for practice, so it can't be helped. I started drawing immediately without thinking about anything extra.

First, as shown above, draw two isosceles triangles and four circles. This seems to be important in terms of overall balance.

As a result of actually drawing, it was quite different from the picture drawn by the author on the previous page.

Still, it's strange because when I squint, it looks like that. I'm not sure if it makes me want to kiss.

30分で描かれたバナナ Banana drawn in 30 minutes

今年から独学のデッサンを始めた。しかし、透明感を出すことが出来ず、行き詰まっていた。

そこで、「誰でも30分で絵が描けるようになる本」を買ってきた。早速試しに練習を開始した。

書かれた内容の理屈はよくわかる。そして、本の中に自分で描き込むページが含まれているので、気楽にトライ出来る。

そこで、本当に上手く描けるようになるかまず試してみた結果が写真だ。

一度描いてみたのが左の絵。でも、今一つ納得出来なかったので、さらに修正したした絵が右の方だ。

家人には、「左の方がなんとなくバナナらしい。」と言われてしまったが、自分の中では、右の方がよく出来たと思っている。

とうとう感染者数8万人 Finally 80,000 infected people

本日、一日の新型コロナウィルス感染者数が8万人を超えたとの報道があった。

ここ数日、「過去最高」という言葉ばかり聞いていたので、私は驚いていない。

オミクロン株の感染拡大で、先行する海外の事例を見ていれば、避けられないことと思ってもいた。

しかし、数のことぼかり気にしていて、どういう問題が起こり得るかをあまり考えていなかった。

実際に仕事にも影響が現れてきており、困る状況になってきた。
感染者ばかりでなく、保育園などが休園になると、親が仕事を休まなければならなくなっている。

場合によって、濃厚接触者となれば、かなりの間、仕事に出てこれない。

そういう意味で、人手が足りなくなりつつあるのだ。どの会社や組織も同様の状況で困っているはずだ。

「ヌサンタラ」インドネシアの新首都名 "Nusantara" Indonesian new capital name

インドネシアのジャカルタが慢性的な交通渋滞と地盤沈下による洪水の多発で、首都を移転することは知っていた。

そして、カリマンタン島(ボルネオ島)にすでに土地を確保していたとのニュースも読んでいた。

そして、首都をジャカルタから「ヌサンタラ」に移転する法案がとうとう可決されたとの報道があった。

とてもダイナミックで夢がある話ではあるが、大統領が2024年10月で退任することが決まっている。

また、現在、新首都の場所は熱帯雨林で全く工事などは行われていない。その整備には4兆円弱の予算の確保が必要だという。

さらにその費用も全体の2割であり、その他は民間から調達するとのことだ。

さらに言えば、約26万ヘクタールの熱帯雨林を伐採することになるわけで、CO2の削減にも寄与しない。

政治的にも、財政的にも、地球環境的にも、とても厳しいと思わざるをえないが、果たしてうまくいくのだろうか？注目しておきたい。(写真はイメージ画像:pixabay)

青森沖でマイワシが大量死 Massive death of sardines off the coast of Aomori

アメリカの竜巻被害もビックリするニュースだったが、少し気持ちの悪いニュースがあった。

青森のむつ半島の太平洋沖で、約4キロメートルに渡り、マイワシが大量死していたという。

2018年には海水温が急激に下がったため、マイワシが大量死したことがあったらしい。また、昨年夏にも海水の酸素濃度が下がって大量死したマイワシが見つかったこともあるとのこと。

しかし、今回はそのどちらでもなく、原因が分からないという。

勿論、そう断定も出来ないだろうが、かなり気持ちの悪い事象だと思う。特に巨大な地震の前兆として何かが海に影響しているのだと怖い。

あるいは、地球温暖化による気候変動が影響しているのかもしれない。

自分自身、ランナーズハイを経験したのは、これまで1度しかない。それははじめてのフルマラソンの38キロ以降だった。
その後、フルマラソンは2回走ったが、2度とその気持ち良さは味わえていない。

それはともかくとして、普段の筋トレやヨガなど軽い運動でも記憶力が良くなる要素があるのだろうか？

ほぼ毎日ジムで運動している自分は、記憶力を測るテストはしたことがないが、明らかに記憶力は落ちていると実感している。

それだけに、どこまでこの研究に期待できるのかは、もう少し研究が進まないと分からない。

少なくとも認知症予防になるというなら、満身創痍の身体に鞭を打って頑張ってみたい。

とても残念だ。ここ最近では、とても面白いと思っていただけに、余計にそう思う。 そもそも、主演級の女優が覚醒剤で逮捕され、急遽、代役を立ててスタートしたドラマだ。そのため、役者も制作スタッフも大変な思いをしたはずだ。
そして、今度は、コロナウィルスで撮影を続けられないという非常事態だ。

レムデシビルがまもなく承認 Approved by Remdesivir soon

新型コロナウィルスの治療薬として、アメリカの製薬会社ギリアド・サイエンシズのレムデシビルが厚生労働省から承認される見込みらしい。
この薬は、エボラ出血熱の治療薬として、開発中だがドイツやアメリカで承認の検討しており、その結果が出れば、特例的に承認するとのことだ。
これまで、日本の富士フィルム富山化学のアビガン(ファビピラビル)という薬しか聞いていなかったので、思わぬ良報だ。レムデシビルは、主に重症患者向けの点滴薬で、アビガンは軽症者向けの錠剤らしい。
一定の副作用の懸念はあるかもしれないが、こうした薬を準備出来れば、インフルエンザと同様の警戒レベルに収まるかもしれない。

転職の記念に自分で買った佐渡のお酒。来月からは、金曜日以外の平日には、晩酌をしないつもりなので、最後の贅沢だ。
今は、コビット19で大変な状況のイタリア・ミラノの酒チャレンジというイベントで金賞を受賞している。
確かにイタリアンに合う果物のような芳醇でジューシーな甘味を感じる。
とはいえ、ワインとは異なり、キレのある辛口の日本酒だとも感じる。普段なら、一気に飲んでしまうが、今回は味わいながら、ゆっくり飲んだので、2日に渡って楽しむつもりだ。

同僚の一人にとにかくメモを取りまくる人がいる。何故そんなにメモを取る必要があるのか、私は理解出来なかった。
そんな時、この本がベストセラーになっていることを知り、興味を持った。
著者は、圧倒的な量の日常の事実を記録し、それをアイディアに変えることが出来るという。
つまり、メモで思考を深め、自分を知り、そして、夢を叶えるということだ。
とても、思いの強い文面に圧倒されながら、読んで行くと、最終的には、「メモは生き方である」と締めくくられる。
著者自らコンプレックスを明かしつつ、力強く生きている様について、私はとても共感出来た。だから、是非、若い人に読んで欲しい本だ。
中年の私にとっては、メモ魔になることは出来そうもないので、何か、課題を解決したいことがあった時に、チャレンジしてみよう。「それでは、意味ないよ!」と著者に言われそうだが？
