レムデシビルがまもなく承認 Approved by Remdesivir soon

新型コロナウィルスの治療薬として、アメリカの製薬会社ギリアド・サイエンシズのレムデシビルが厚生労働省から承認される見込みらしい。
この薬は、エボラ出血熱の治療薬として、開発中だがドイツやアメリカで承認の検討しており、その結果が出れば、特例的に承認するとのことだ。
これまで、日本の富士フィルム富山化学のアビガン(ファビピラビル)という薬しか聞いていなかったので、思わぬ良報だ。レムデシビルは、主に重症患者向けの点滴薬で、アビガンは軽症者向けの錠剤らしい。
一定の副作用の懸念はあるかもしれないが、こうした薬を準備出来れば、インフルエンザと同様の警戒レベルに収まるかもしれない。
この問題に対して、何も出来ない一般市民としては、医療関係者だけでなく、こうした研究開発や治験をする方々にも、感謝しないとならない。(写真はイメージ画像:pixabay)

It is expected that the US Department of Health, Labor and Welfare will approve lemdecivir from the US pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences as a treatment for the new coronavirus.
The drug is under development for the treatment of Ebola, but it is being considered for approval in Germany and the United States, and if the results come out, it will be specifically approved.
Up until now, I had only heard of the drug Fujifilm Toyama Chemical's Avigan(Favipiravir), so this is a good news. Remdesivir is an infusion drug mainly for severely ill patients, and Avigan(Favipiravir) seems to be a tablet for mildly ill patients.
There may be some side effects, but the preparation of such drugs may bring them to the same level of alertness as influenza.
As a general citizen who can do nothing for this problem, I must thank not only medical personnel but also those who conduct such research and development and clinical trials.(Photo is an image : pixabay)
