とうとう感染者数8万人 Finally 80,000 infected people

本日、一日の新型コロナウィルス感染者数が8万人を超えたとの報道があった。

ここ数日、「過去最高」という言葉ばかり聞いていたので、私は驚いていない。

オミクロン株の感染拡大で、先行する海外の事例を見ていれば、避けられないことと思ってもいた。

しかし、数のことぼかり気にしていて、どういう問題が起こり得るかをあまり考えていなかった。

実際に仕事にも影響が現れてきており、困る状況になってきた。
感染者ばかりでなく、保育園などが休園になると、親が仕事を休まなければならなくなっている。

場合によって、濃厚接触者となれば、かなりの間、仕事に出てこれない。

そういう意味で、人手が足りなくなりつつあるのだ。どの会社や組織も同様の状況で困っているはずだ。

In that sense, we are running out of manpower. Every company or organization should be in trouble in a similar situation.
