「『失敗』の日本史」本郷和人 "Japanese History of'Failure'" Kazuto Hongo

私はタイトルにそそられてこの本を読んだ。著者は東京大学史料編纂所の教授で、歴史学者である。

この本は、鎌倉時代から関ヶ原の合戦以降までを6章に分け、合計21人の歴史上の人物が犯した失敗を紹介している。
ただし、豊臣秀吉だけは3回に分けているので、延人数では23人分である。

このような失敗を紹介することにより、「現代に生きる私達が失敗しないように」という意図はこの本にはない。

それよりも歴史の捉え方を、一面的ではなく、さらに事実に基づいて捉えるべきだという著者の意図を感じた。

そうした意味ではとても面白く読めた。そういう見方があったのか？と考えさせられることや、事実に基づいていないことが、小説家などの影響で事実だと思われていることが多いことがよく分かった。

なかでも、戦国時代の武将らの人物像は興味深い。伊達政宗、毛利輝元など、小説などでは、良い印象で描かれていた武将らのことを知れたのは、とても収穫が大きかった。

多分著者の引き出しの中にはもっと沢山の武将らの失敗があるだろう。

それを読んでみたいと思った。何故なら、伝記は成功談ばかりだからだ。
失敗を知ることで、やはり自分への戒めになると思うからだ。

あれ？私がそう思うということは、
やっぱり、著者の意図はそこにあったのだろうか？

I read this book intrigued by the title. The author is a professor at the Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo and a historian.

This book divides the period from the Kamakura period to the Battle of Sekigahara into six chapters, and introduces the mistakes made by a total of 21 historical figures.

「鉛筆一本ではじめる光と陰の描き方」OCHABI insuitute "How to draw light and shade starting with a single pencil" OCHABI insuitute

4Bから4Hまで合計10本の鉛筆を使っている自分にとっては、驚きのタイトルの本。

勿論、全てを上手く使いこなせているわけではないが、「鉛筆一本だけで」描けるのか？という素朴な疑問を持ちながら、読んでみた。

執筆者は「OCHABI insuitute」。なんだろうと調べたら、芸大や美大の受験予備校である、お茶の水美術学院、お茶の水美術専門学校の先生方だということがわかった。

内容はとてもシンプルなことばかりで、美大を受験するような高校生には少し簡単すぎるような気がした。

しかし、サブタイトルは「ロジカルデッサンの技法」なので、美大受験には欠かせない論理的な技法なのだと思う。

確かに、ただ感性のままによく見て似せて描けばよいという内容ではなかった。

まずは形、そして色、さらに遠近、最後に明暗。この4つの要素をそれぞれ意識しながら仕上げていくスタイルは理にかなっている。

私の中では、特に「質感を表現する」という部分で植物の「猫じゃらし」を描く内容が興味深かった。

美大受験の予定がなくても、今後絵を描きたいと思っている人にはお勧め出来る本であった。

関東地方では観測史上最短の梅雨だそうだ。
実は何を隠そう、私は雨は好きではない。でも、それ以上に真夏の暑さが嫌いだ。

雨の場合、傘を持つのが面倒だが、真夏の直射日光を遮るため、私は日傘を持って歩く。

そして、雨だと少し雨に濡れるが、真夏は汗で全身が濡れてしまう。
つまり、外からの濡れでなく中からの濡れが気持ち悪いのだ。

だから、梅雨明けが早いことは私にとっては全く喜ばしいことではない。

しかも、今回は気温上昇のため、電力不足に陥っている。昨日は仕事場のデスク付近の照明を3時から消して仕事をした。だから、書類も窓の近くで確認するしかない。そして、多分今日もそうする。

こんなことがこの夏ずっと続くのか？さらに水不足だって心配だし、野菜の生育へも影響があるだろう。

若い頃は、汗なんて気にしていなかった様な気がする。家にも車にもエアコンがなかった。
それでも、開放的な気分になり夏が大好きだった。

便利な社会になってエアコンの中で快適に過ごすようになったから、自分の考えが変わったのか？

それとも以前より確実に暑くなったのか？

よく理由は分からないが、熱中症にならないように大人しく過ごすしかない。

急に暑くなった日に、外に出るのも億劫で、手の甲のデッサンに挑戦してみた。

一応、生身の人間の部分なので、人物画の部類に入るのだろうか？

ただ、自分の手の甲を見つめるのは、少し新鮮な気分だった。何故かと言えば、毎日見ている様で、実は観測したことはなかったからだ。

そして、分かったことが一つ。
皺が多くなり、しかもなんとも汚い手になったということ。

まぁ、年齢を重ねれば仕方ないことだが、当面、自画像は描きたくないと感じた瞬間だった。

最後の印象派と呼ばれる二人の巨匠の展覧会は日本で初めてのことらしい。

実は、恥ずかしながら、私はこの二人の画家を知らなかった。

印象派ではあるが、新印象主義、象徴主義などの表現技法も試している。

個人的にはマルタンが、マルケロルで描いた薔薇を含めたいくつかの作品に魅力を感じた。

緑と薔薇の赤のコントラストがとても綺麗だと感じたからだ。

また、海の青と落ち葉のオレンジ色のコントラストも好きだ。つまり補色の色使いだった。

自分のあまりにも単純な感覚に驚きつつ、半分納得しながら見て回った。

最初はどちらの画家の作品か見分けがつかなかったが、最後にはその特徴が判るようになった。

そして、巨匠と呼ばれる理由も分かる様になったよい展覧会だった。

「トップガン マーヴェリック」"Top Gun Maverick"

この映画は前評判が高かったので、どうしても観たくなり、実際に映画館まで足を運んで観ることにした。とても久しぶりだ。

そして、とても満足出来た。何故なら、自宅で観る映画とは比べものにならないほど、迫力と臨場感を体感出来たからだ。

TOHOシネマズ新宿で採用しているＤｏｌｂｙ－ＡＴＭＯＳというサウンドシステムだ。通常料金より少しだけ高くなるが、映画館でみる価値を十分に感じた。

特にこの映画は、戦闘機が飛ぶシーンが多く音楽も欠かせない。音響がとても意味を持つからだ。

さて、トム・クルーズが扮する主人公のマーヴェリックは、現役にこだわり昇進も拒んで来た伝説のパイロット。

しかし、今回は教官として、トップガンに戻ることになる。それを推薦したのが、前作でライバルだったアイスマン。彼は海軍大将に昇格していて、権限を持っていた。

そして、トップガンでは、とても厳しい任務を遂行するために、精鋭パイロット達を鍛えることになる。

しかし、彼らより57歳となった今でも、マーヴェリックは若者達に負けていなかった。実は私が一番感動したのがそこだった。

当然のことながら、手に汗握る展開が続く。特に戦闘機が飛ぶシーンは身体が硬くなる。

余計な部分は省略して、観客が観たい部分をすぐに見せる展開は流石アメリカの娯楽映画だと感心した。

マーヴェリックの代名詞であったカワサキ製のバイクも健在だったし、女性とのシーンもあり、前作を観ていなくても楽しめるように工夫されていたことは素晴らしい。
　
実は、後で調べたことだが、映画の中だけでなく、撮影現場でもトム・クルーズは俳優として若い役者に色々と教えるようなことがあったらしい。

やはりトム・クルーズのための映画だった。

トム・クルーズの出世作となった1986年の映画。当時も私はこの映画を映画館で観たが、新作の「トップガン　マーヴェリック」を観る前におさらいの意味でもう一度観てみた。

流石に36年前の映画なので、ディテールは覚えていなかったが、全体的なストーリーはほぼ覚えていた。

物語は、アメリカ海軍の戦闘機パイロットのエリートを育てるための機関、通称「トップガン」での青春スカイアクション。

そのトップガンの入ったトム・クルーズ扮するマーヴェリックが型破りな飛行をする。特にスピードのある戦闘機の飛行シーンはとても迫力がある。

また、女性教官との恋、ライバルとの闘い、親友との友情や死別などの人間模様も描かれていて、当時のアメリカの娯楽映画として、期待を裏切らない展開であった。

実は、私は挿入歌をほぼ全て覚えていた。多分、いろんな機会に聴いてきたからだろうが、記憶を呼び戻すのにとても役だった。

この映画を観て、確かにトム・クルーズの瞳は確かに素敵で、全世界の女性が骨抜きになるのもわかるような気がした。

そのトム・クルーズが36年振りにどんな演技をするのか、やはり続編が楽しみになってきた。

オンライン英会話のレッスン画面の雰囲気が変わったので、よく見たら、「英会話時間合計　30000分　レジェンド」となっていた。

以前は、「マスター」と言うレベルだったが、最上位のランクになったのだ。

レジェンドは「伝説的人物」という意味合いだろうが、よくニュースで聞くスポーツ選手などに自分を重ねてみたが、とてもじゃないが、私の英会話はそのレベルに至っていない。

おこがましいし、「とんでもないこと」だと言うしかない。

確かに1回25分のレッスンを1200回受けたというのは事実だが、まだまだ流暢に英語を話せるようになっていないのだ。

ただ、このレジェンドという称号を与えてもらったことにより、それに恥じないように、より英語を深く学ぼうと思ったことは確かだ。

日本サッカーのレジェンドと呼ばれるキングカズこと、三浦和良選手も、「もっと上手くなりたい!」とよく言っているのを私はテレビで見たことがある。

彼と自分を重ねるのは、それこそおこがましいが、向上心を捨てずに引き続き励むしかない。

「異端の人間学」五木寛之 佐藤優 "Human Studies of Heretics" Hiroyuki Itsuki, Masaru Sato

この本は、二人の作家による対談記録である。私にとっては、異色の組み合わせだと思ったので、読んでみた。

しかし、互いに尊敬しあっていたようだ。そして、どちらもロシアのことに詳しいという共通点があることが、読み進むうちに分かった。

対談の内容は、とりとめのないようで、実は奥が深い。ちょうど出版されたのが、クリミア半島をロシアが強引に併合してしまった後で、ロシアの根底にある考え方を探ろうとしたのが、この対談の目的だったようだ。

でも、話はそれだけにとどまらず、宗教の話、詩の話、学ぶべき人の話など多岐にわたる。

当然ながら、ロシアに詳しい二人なので、ロシア人のお酒の飲み方から、近隣国からみたロシア、そして日本のロシア外交の薄さなどにも言及している。

出来れば、もう一度、今現在のウクライナ情勢を含めて対談してもらえると、より理解が深まると私は感じた。

ロシア人の背景にあるもの、ウクライナに対するロシア人の考えなどを知る意味では、古い本であるが参考になると思う。

However, the story is not limited to that, and it covers a wide range of topics such as religious stories, poetry stories, and stories of people to learn.

Of course, since they are familiar with Russia, they also mention how Russians drink, Russia from the perspective of neighboring countries, and Japan's weak diplomacy.

If possible, I felt that it would be better to have a dialogue including the current situation in Ukraine.

It is an old book, but I think it will be helpful in terms of understanding the background of the Russians and the Russians' thoughts on Ukraine.

髪変えて誰も気づかぬ夏至の朝 49 The morning of the summer solstice that no one notices after changing my hairstyle

髪型を極端に変えて出勤したが、誰からも何も反応がなかった。家族には気づかれたので、変化はしているはずなので、ちょっと寂しい。
 
そのことについて、何故なのかを考えてみた。
ひとつはもともと私のことに興味を持たれたいなかったということ。いつもそんなに気にもしていないので、変化に気づかないということだ。これは確かにあると思われる。中年男性などをじっと観察する人は多くはないからだ。
 
次に考えたのは、髪型が変わったことには気づいたけれど、話題にするほどのことではないと思われたこと。
さらにこの中でも、２つの理由が考えられる。一つは、仕事のことならともかく、髪型のことなど話題に適さないと思われたこと。さらにもう一つの理由は、そもそも話をするのが、嫌だと思われたこと。
 
いろいろ考えたが、少なくともコミュニケーションが良い仕事場ではないということ。それなら、何をすればよいのか。そして考えたのが、まずは自分が出来る行動だ。つまり私自身から「髪切ったけど、どうかな？」と雑談をしてみることなのかもしれないと思い始めている。(写真はイメージ画像:pixabay)

「ペルソナ 脳に潜む闇」中野信子 "Persona: Darkness in the Brain" Nobuko Nakano

私は著者の本を読んだことがなく、テレビでしか知らなかった。この本はその脳科学者の初の自叙伝ということだったので読んでみた。

著者は東京大学の応用化学科を卒業し、大学院では医学を専攻して博士になった人。

その来歴も凄いが、今や多くの著書を出す有名人でもある。そんな彼女のことを知りたいと思う人は少なくないとは思うが、彼女は人に会うのが嫌らしい。

そのため、「この本を読めば分かる。」と言いたいために、この自叙伝を書いたと言う。流石に頭がいい。理にかなっている。

全5章からなるこの本は、彼女のことを新しいことから、古いことへと遡って記述されていた。

そして、彼女について、わかったことは沢山あった。少女時代のこと。母親との関係。頭痛持ちで、コミュニケーション能力が高くないと思っていること。ポジティブ心理学が嫌いで、ブレるのは当たり前なこと。

さらに、東大の理系女子としてのセクハラや日本のアカデミアのダメさ加減なども分かった。

また、抑うつ的な人の方が、良い判断をする傾向があるという研究結果には少し驚いた。

このように、自分のことを書きながらも、その時々において、脳科学の専門知識を活かしながら、記述されてある。なんともバランスを取るのが難しいかったことだろうと思う。

ただ、この本を出したことで、著者の「脳に潜む闇」が少なくなったのではないかと感じた。

また、驚いたのは、著者は日本のバラエティー番組に出演している芸人のコミュニケーション能力を絶賛していたことだ。

攻撃からの身のかわし方として、芸人のような言語運用スキルが高く、ユーモアがある返しが出来ることを勧めている。

なるほど、くだらないと思っていたバラエティー番組もそうした見方があったのかと思い知らされた。

She has a great history, but she is now a celebrity with many books. I don't think there are many people who want to know her, but she doesn't like meeting people.

She says she wrote this autobiography because she wants to say, "You know me by reading this book." She is smart. It stands to reason.

This five-chapter book describes her from new to old.

And there was a lot about her that she knew. Girls' Generation. Relationship with her mother. She has a headache and thinks she has poor communication skills. She hates positive psychology and it's natural to shake.

In addition, she learned about sexual harassment as a science girl at the University of Tokyo and how bad Japanese academia is.

I was also a little surprised by the findings that depressed people tend to make better decisions.

In this way, while writing about herself, she is described from time to time, making use of her expertise in brain science. I think it was difficult to balance.

However, by publishing this book, I felt that the author's "darkness hidden in the brain" had decreased.

Also, to my surprise, the author praised the communication skills of the entertainers who appeared in Japanese variety shows.

She recommends that she have high linguistic performance skills like a gein and be able to give back with humor as a way to avoid attacks.

I was wondering if there was such a view on variety shows that I thought was crap.

窓枠の緑揺れたり南風 48 Green swaying on window frame by south wind

梅雨の中でも晴れるととても暑くなってきた。それでも梅雨明け後の暑さとは違い、風があるのが救いである。

扇風機のような感じの風が窓から入ってきて、とても爽やかな気分となった。

題名の俳句はそこで浮かんだ一句。
俳句に興味を持ち始めて良かったことの一つに季節の変化を感じるようになったことだ。もっと言えば、考えるようになったと言った方がいいかもしれない。

多分、これまでも私はそれを感じていたはずだが、あえて言葉にするようなことがなかった。つまり、意識して考えることで、暦と季節の変化を関連づけることが出来るということだ。

どうでもいいことだが、楽しみはお金をかけなくても見つけられるということだ。

「知識ゼロからの印象派絵画入門」大橋巨泉 "Introduction to Impressionist Painting from Zero Knowledge" Kyosen Ohashi

65歳から印象派の絵画にはまって、海外の美術館に沢山行った故大橋巨泉氏の本。

彼独特の語り口により印象派の画家達とその代表作などを紹介している。

最初の方のページで紹介する全ての画家の生涯年表が掲載されているのが、とても良いアイデアだ。

何故かと言うと、それぞれの画家がどんな人だったのか、誰に教えてもらったのか、あるいは教えたのか。そして、交友関係などの話が出てくるからだ。

絵を見る際には、先入観なしに観ることも大事だろうが、やはり描かれた背景を含めて観察した方が、より理解が深まることは確かだ。

そうした意味で、タイトルのとおり、「知識ゼロ」の人が印象派の絵画を知るには、とても心遣いがある優しい本である。

久しぶりに横浜桜木町にある野毛の飲み屋街に繰り出した。本当に久しぶりで、すっかり街の様子が変わっていた。

勿論、酔客が沢山いたが、驚いたのは、若い人が多かったこと。そして、店の佇まいがお洒落になっていたことだ。

以前は、赤提灯や縄のれんという昔ながらの居酒屋が多く、当然スーツやワイシャツ姿の中年サラリーマンの飲み屋街だったのに、いつの間にか、若者向けの街になっていた。

もしかしたら、コロナ禍で店を維持できずに閉店したところが多かったのかもしれない。

実際訪れた「叶家」さんも、2階の宴会場を閉めて、他の店になったそうだ。

良し悪しはともかくとして、コロナがもたらした一つの現象かもしれない。

当たり前に利用してきたアプリケーションだが、最近はエッジを使うことが多くなり、実は戸惑うことが多かった。それだけ、自分の中では馴染んできたので、自分がまた一つ古い人間になったようで、少し寂しい。
 
マイクロソフト社は何故、この代表的なアプリケーションを止めたのだろうか？　マイクロソフト・エッジの一部分しか使いこなせていない自分にとっては、理解できない。
 
でも、そういうことを言う人間こそが古いのであり、歳を重ねたとしても、頑張って新しいものにチャレンジしないとならないとも思う。
 
そう私に決心させてくれたインターネット・エクスプローラーに感謝を込めて、「ありがとう！」

「快楽の動詞」山田詠美 "Pleasure verb" Eimi Yamada

私は著者の本をこれまで読んだことがなかった。でも、何となく「快楽」という言葉が著者には馴染んでいるような雰囲気を感じていた。

この本には、「快楽の動詞」のほか、7本の短編が掲載されている。それぞれ違った切り口であるが、「快楽」をテーマにしているところは共通している。

読後の私の感想は、短編小説というより、著者の思いが強く込められたエッセイのように思えた。

例えば、「文体同窓会」などは、文学界における著者の「居心地の悪さ」を表現しているようだ。

さらに、「ベッドの創作」では、具体的な快楽の表現方法について、文学的な表現とポルノ的な表現を比較披露している。

また、最後の「不治の快楽」でも、快楽の表現に対する文学界での快楽容認派とストイック派のバトルを代弁している。

著者は現在では、すでに還暦を過ぎているが、この本は1993年に書かれたものだ。

多分、当時は、女性作家があからさまな性表現をすることに対するバッシングが、文学界内であったのだろうと推測してしまった。

しかし、それは大変失礼なことで、著者からは、「私の作品を読んでから言え！」と叱られそうだ。

と言うことで、そのうち、著者の代表的な作品を読んでみたいと思う。

筋トレ内容の見直し Review of muscle training content

最近、次のような記事を読んでしまった。「週に30?60分で十分。筋トレが心疾患やがんなどのリスクを低減」という記事だ。

そして、よく読むと「やり過ぎは死亡リスク増」とのことだ。つまり、60分を超えて筋トレすると、かえって早死にすると言う。

自分の筋トレスケジュールを改めて確認したら、25分[×]?5?6日で週に125分?150分だった。

健康のために懸命に頑張っていたのに、かえって死亡リスクを高めていたことになる。

これはビックリ！　早速60分以内に収めようと検討を始めた。まず決めたのが、筋トレは週に4回に限定すること。つまり、1回に15分以内だ。

ここからが大変で、これまで行っていたメニューを根本的に見直すには、優先順位をつける必要がある。

そして、一応落ち着いたのが、3分割法でそれぞれ15分。それを週に4日で合計60分。ただし、これには腹筋のトレーニングが入っていない。

もし、腹筋の時間を加えると5分[×]?4日なので、さらに20分プラスで80分になってしまう。

まあ仕方ない。それでも随分と削減したので、よしとするか？

それにしても、「運動時間を減らした方が健康にいい。」というのも、昭和世代の自分にとっては、とても不思議な感覚ではある。

私がこの本を読んだのは、新聞に書評が載っていたのを覚えていたからだ。

著者はブラジル人なのに、何故、弓道の本を書いたのかということも知りたくて読んでみた。

しかし、読んでも、私にはそれが分からなかった。

そして、この本は、弓道をやる人のための指南書のようであり、また一方では、それ以外の人も含めた哲学的なメッセージでもある。

とても不思議な本だ。そして、一番最後の次の部分が核心をついている。

「射手にはやがて、弓道のあらゆるルールを忘れ、完全に本能に従って行動し続けるようになるときがやってくる。(略) この状態に達した時、もはや射手はそれまで彼の学びを助けてくれた道具を必要としなくなる。彼はすでに弓も矢も的も必要としない。」

ほぼ30分で読み終えてしまうが、一言一句を良く噛み締めながら、読んだ方が良い本だと思う。

今日のデッサンのお題は「鉛筆入れ」。昔の言い方だと「筆箱」だが、筆も入れないし、箱でもないので、やはり言い換えないとならない。

この鉛筆入れは、優れもので、ウエットスーツのような柔軟性のある素材で、しかも自立する。

だから、普通の使い方をする人には、使いやすいかもしれない。

しかし、自分はデッサン用の鉛筆を入れているため、使うときは鉛筆、練り消しゴム、カッターナイフなどを全て机に出してしまうので、自立しても、あまり意味がない。

つまり、鉛筆の収納袋として利用しているため、ビニール袋でも封筒でも、何かの缶でもいいのだ。

そんな優れものだが、私にとっては利用価値が低かった鉛筆入れにモチーフになってもらった。

書き上がってから思ったのは、なんとなくエロチックな形なんだということ。そう思ってしまう自分の頭がエロチックなのかもしれないが。

「トマス・アクィナス哲学講義」というサブタイトルのとおり、哲学の本である。

著者は哲学者で東大の教授でもある。講義とあるように、中世哲学最高峰の「神学大全」の感情論を、哲学者と学生の対話形式で解説している。

著者は、当初、編集者から提案があった対話形式という方法に疑問をもっていたそうだが、コロナ禍の緊急事態宣言の中で、本格的に取り組んでみようと決心したという。

コロナウィルスも悪いことばかりではなかった。何故なら、本格的な哲学書には全く歯が立たない私にとっては、著者の決心がなければこの本を読むことはなかったからだ。

そして、確かに分かりやすい。勿論、哲学なので、物事の定義や深く考える部分があるが、「感情」がメインテーマになっているのと、学生にも分かるような事例を示してくれているが、とても助かる。

私がなるほどと思った項目を少し紹介する。一つは、「気づくこと」の重要性のこと。
著者は、『気づきを積み重ねていくなかで、自分で新たな気づきを得られるような洞察力が次第に身についていく。それが哲学という学問を大きな魅力の一つ。』と言う。

もう一つは、『ありふれた日常生活に、ちょっとした亀裂が入ると、日常のリズムは、案外簡単に乱されてしまう。「普通の日常」が、いかに多くの「気に入ること」によって支えられているかということに気付かされる。』と言う部分。

確かに普段の生活を出来ることのありがたみは、「気に入ること」の連続だったからなのかと、気付かされた。

その上で、『何かを気に入るかどうかは、生きていく上でとても重要だ。つまり、欲求可能性に満ちているということ。』という。

その気に入ることが、広い意味で愛だということがわかる。

そして、『愛とは、「愛されるもの」から被る「刻印」だというのが、トマス感情論の基本的な洞察だ。』ということ。

結局、深く考えるのが不得意な自分が読む哲学書にしては、わかりやすかったが、何が分かったのか、分からなくなった。

旧新橋停車場 鉄道歴史展示室 Old Shimbashi Station Railway History Exhibition Room

新橋から汐留方面に歩いて行くと、高層ビルの足元に歴史的な建物が見える。

それが日本初の鉄道駅である新橋停車場。建物は当時の外観を再現したものだが、地下に駅舎とプラットフォームの基礎の石などが残っている。

建物内には展示が出来るスペースがあり、無料で見学が出来た。

自分は鉄道マニアではないので、それほどの興味はなかったが、訪れていた客はとても興味深く展示物を眺めていたので、とても貴重なものばかりなのだろう。

それにしても明治5年にこのような建物が作られていたことを想像すると、やはりこの辺りは文化の中心だったのだろうと理解出来た。

横浜市民としては、このような遺構が横浜にも残っていれば、いいのにと少し嫉妬した。

スコットランド国立美術館は、ナショナル・ミュージアムとナショナル・ポートレート・ミュージアム、さらにナショナル・ミュージアム・オブ・モダン・アートの3館で構成される美術館の総称とのことだ。

今回は、「ルネサンス、バロック、グランド・ツアーの時代、そして19世紀の開拓者たち」と、それぞれの時代を代表するような作品約90点が展示されている。

有名な画家の作品が満載である。ラファエロ、エル・グレコ、ベラスケス、レンブラントなどだ。特にパンフレットの表紙を飾るベラスケスの「卵を料理する老婆」の卵の白身が固まりつつある表現は素晴らしい。

また、フランシス・グラントというスコットランドの画家の「ウィリアム・マーカム夫人」の作品を初めてみたが、しばし見とれてしまった。

その女性は画家の結婚直前の愛娘だそうで、愛に溢れた雰囲気が漂っていた。

私は休みの日に訪れたが、ゆっくり見るためには、平日の方が良いかもしれない。

ひらめきの原点というタイトルどおり、ピカソの技術的な実験の軌跡がよく分かる展示であった。

展示作品は版画が多く、素描、水彩画なども多かった。例えば同じ女性のモチーフを色々な描き方で試していることが見て取れる。

私はピカソを天才だと思っていたが、実はどのような描き方が良いのか、答えのない中で苦悩していたのだと、理解した。

晩年のキュビズムやシュルリアリズムの作品からは想像も出来ないような、素直なデッサンなどを見ると、天才画家の基礎的な実力が分かる。

その上で誰も挑戦していない新しい分野を開拓しようと試行錯誤する姿が想像出来るよい展示内容であった。

今回はブラジルも本気で戦ってくれたと思うので、以前より明らかに日本サッカーの実力は上がっていると感じた試合だった。

それでも、ワールドカップ予選を一時的な番狂わせではなく、着実に勝ち上がるには、もう一つ決定力というか、展開の想像力とシュートの精度が必要だと感じた。

「プリンセス・トヨトミ」万城目学 "Princess Toyotomi" Manabu Makime

著者の前二作に完全に脱帽した私は、当然ながら関西三部作の最後となるこの作品を読まないとならなかった。

そして、今回も完全に私は打ちのめされた。なんと言っても凄い構想力。

最後に「なんだ坂、こんな坂、ときどき大阪」と題してあとがきに代えて書かれたエッセイが面白い。

ここには、この本を書いた理由が紹介されているが、なんと著者が育った地元の身近なエリアの話だそうだ。

実は、物語の中で私が特に気に入ったのが、徳川家に対する反骨精神。
これはストーリーの骨格となる部分だが、私自身も大阪夏の陣、冬の陣から徳川家が豊臣家を完全に滅ぼすまでのやり方が、やりすぎだと思っていたので、この本が書かれたきっかけとして、凄く共感出来た。

つまり、徳川に対し「それはあんまりだろ〜」と思った大阪の人々の気持ちがとても小気味良かった。

また、明治の建築家、辰野金吾のことや大阪城、大阪の街などもリアルである。

さらに、会計検査院というかなりマイナーな国家機関にターゲットを当てるあたりも万城目ワールドと言えそうだ。

この第3作までは関西3部作と言われているが、これ以降の作品がどうなのか、やはりまだまだ、私は万城目ワールドを堪能してみたい。

Finally, the essay written in place of the postscript entitled "What a slope, such a slope, sometimes Osaka" is interesting.

The reason for writing this book is introduced here, but it seems that it is a story of a familiar area where the author grew up.

In fact, what I especially liked about the story was the rebellious spirit towards the Tokugawa family.
This is the skeleton of the story, but I myself thought that the way from the summer and winter camps in Osaka to the complete destruction of the Toyotomi clan by the Tokugawa clan was overkill, so this book was written. As a trigger, I was able to sympathize with it very much.

In other words, the feelings of the people of Osaka who thought, "That's not so much" to Tokugawa were very creepy.

In addition, the Meiji architect Tatsuno Kingo, Osaka Castle, and the city of Osaka are also real.

Furthermore, it seems that it can be said that Manjome World is about targeting a fairly minor national institution called the Board of Audit.

It is said that this third work is a Kansai trilogy, but I still want to enjoy Manjome World as to what happens to the subsequent works.

「ジョーカー」"Joker"

久しぶりにAmazon prime videoで連続ドラマではなく映画を観た。ちょっと前にこの作品が相当に話題になったのを覚えていたからだ。確か、アカデミー賞などの賞もいくつか獲得しているはずだ。

まず、鑑賞した感想だが、後味が決して良くない。私自身は、手放しでいい映画だったと感じることが出来なかった。

確かにこれまで私があまり観たことがない種類の映画である。切り口や表現はとても斬新に思えた。

キャッチコピーは「本当の悪は笑顔の中にある」だが、アメリカという国の闇の部分をクローズアップしているように思った。

お金持ちや成功者とそれ以外の人達の分断。心の病、妬み、薬、犯罪、銃などの問題。これらは、日本とは比べものにならないほどシリアスだ。

だからこそ、映画評論家やマニアなどの評価が高ったのだろう。

ストーリーはホラーサスペンスで私はあまり好きではないが、役者の演技は確かに凄い。特に主役のホアキン・フェニックスの鬼気迫る演技は見ものだ。

もし、演技など俳優個人の頑張りを観たいなら、一見の価値はあるかも知れない。

ただ、私のように作品性や演技力などはどうでもよくて、単純に映画は楽しめればよいと思っている人や、心が洗われるような感動が欲しいと思っている人などにとっては、あまりお勧めしない。

After a long time, I watched a movie on Amazon prime video instead of a serial drama. I remember that this work became a hot topic a while ago. Certainly, It should have won several awards such as the Academy Awards.

First of all, the impression I saw was that the aftertaste was never good. I myself couldn't feel that it was a good movie to let go.

Certainly the kind of movie I haven't seen much before. The cuts and expressions seemed very novel.

The catch phrase is "The real evil is in the smile", but I thought it was a close-up of the dark part of the country of America.

The division between rich and successful people and others. Problems with mental illness, envy, medicine, crime, guns, etc.
These are incomparably serious compared to Japan.

That is why it was highly evaluated by movie critics and enthusiasts.

The story is horror suspense and I don't really like it, but the acting of the actors is certainly amazing.
In particular, the devilish acting of Joaquin Phoenix, the protagonist, is spectacular.

If you want to see the individual efforts of the actor, such as acting, it may be worth a look.

However, for people like me who don't care about workability or acting ability and just want to enjoy the movie, or for people who want to be moved to wash their hearts. I don't recommend it very much.

警察からの着信記録 Incoming call record from police

職場の机でiPhoneを充電する際、実は電源を切っている。iPhone専用のコードを使っていないから仕方ない。

今日も仕事を終えるまで、電源を切って充電していた。帰路に画面を確認したところ、電話の着信が2回あったようだ。

最初は、何かの勧誘とか悪戯電話だろうと思った。でも、よく見たら、なんと末尾の4桁が0110だった。

念のために電話番号をwebで調べると地元の警察署の番号だ。

途端に心臓がドキドキしてきた。勿論、捕まるような覚えはない。とりあえず、電車に乗っている時間は折り返せないので、最寄りの駅を降りるまで、電話を控えることにした。

その間、電車内でいつも通り本を読んでいた。しかし、内容が全く頭に入らなかった。

それも無理はないと思って欲しい。何か家族に問題が起こったのかと、心配になったのだ。

もしかしたら、ちょうど旅行中の家人に何かあったのか？
でも、何かあれば地元の警察ではないはず。

他の家人が仕事中に事故でも起こしたのだろうか？
でも、それも地元警察からのはずがない。

それとも、他の親戚のこと？
それなら自分のところよりも他に電話がいくはず。

では、自分のことか？
仕事に関係しているなら、仕事場に電話があるはず。

あるいは、何か自分に関係がある落とし物が見つかったのか？

または、自分の知らないところで、詐欺などに自分の口座などが利用されているのか？

などなどぐるぐると思いを巡らすことになった。その約40分間は、そわそわドキドキで、気が気ではなかった。

そして、最寄駅で降りて、買い物をする予定のスーパーの前で、意を決して電話をした。

すると、「何か警察から電話が来るような心当たりがありますか？」と聞かれた。

「ないから心配して電話しているのに、なんだその言い草は？」と言いたいのを我慢して、「ありません」と答えて返答を待った。

そうしたら、「分かりました。少しお待ちください」とのこと。
実は、この時間が一番緊張した。誰でもそれは容易に想像出来るだろう。

結果は、近くの交番のお巡りさんからの電話で、我が家の住所に以前住んでいた人の車が事故にあったとのこと。

つまり、全く関係なかった。そこで、スゥ〜と心のモヤモヤが晴れてしまった。

それにしても人騒がせな電話だった。
多分、直接電話を取れれば、一瞬は驚くだろうが、心配は長くなかったはずだ。

着信履歴が残っていたから、心配で気持ち良くない状態が長く続くのだ。

Maybe something happened to the family member who was just traveling?

And so on, I decided to think about it. For about 40 minutes, I was nervous and uneasy.

Then, I got off at the nearest station and never called in front of the supermarket where I was planning to shop.

Then I was asked, "Do you have any idea that the police will call you?"

I put up with wanting to say, "I'm worried because I'm not on the phone, but what's that saying?", Answered "No," and waited for a reply.

Then he said, "OK, please wait a moment."
Actually, this time was the most tense. Anyone can easily imagine it.

The result was a phone call from a police box nearby, who said that the car of a person who had previously lived at my address was in an accident.

In other words, it didn't matter at all. There, Su ~ and my heart became moody.

Even so, it was a noisy phone call.
Perhaps if I could pick up the phone directly, I would be surprised for a moment, but I shouldn't have been worried for a long time.

Since the incoming call history was left, I was worried and uncomfortable for a long time.

サッカー日本代表パラグアイ戦 Japan national football team against Paraguay

実は私、久しぶりにサッカー日本代表の試合をじっくりと観た。
予選でかなり苦戦していたし、あまり魅力的なサッカーに思えなかった。

そして、今年から新たに設立されたラグビーのリーグワンに興味を持ち始めていたこともあり、気持ちがサッカーから離れていたのかもしれない。

しかし、今日の試合を観て、選手達を頼もしく感じた。相手がワールドカップに出れなくなったパラグアイだとしても、力の差が歴然としていた。

特に、鎌田選手、堂安選手のパフォーマンスは素晴らしく、これでもまだレギュラーが約束されていないと聞いて、本当に楽しみになってきた。

次回はランキング1位のブラジルが相手になる。彼らがどこまでやれるか、とても楽しみになって来た。(写真はイメージ画像:pixabay)


Actually, I watched the match of the Japan national football team for the first time in a long time.
I had a hard time in qualifying and it didn't seem like a very attractive football.

And, as I began to be interested in the newly established Rugby League One from this year, my feelings may have been away from soccer.

However, watching today's game, I felt that the players were reliable. Even if the opponent was Paraguay who couldn't make it to the World Cup, the difference in power was clear.

In particular, Kamata and Doan's performances were excellent, and I'm really looking forward to hearing that regulars haven't been promised yet.

ノードリンクデー No drink day

以前は365日お酒を徹底的に飲んでいた。お酒を飲まないと一日が終わらないという気持ちだった。

しかし、それは完全な間違いだと2年くらい前から気がついた。
少し遅すぎたが、時は戻せないので仕方ない。

それでも昨年は1年間で60日くらいしか飲まない日を作れなかった。

今年はその倍の120日を目指して頑張っている。だから、月に10日。基本は月曜日、水曜日、木曜日は飲まないと決めている。

でも、それが出来ないこともある。暑い中で仕事で歩き回った時や、嫌なことがあった時などだ。勿論、嬉しいことがあった時も飲みたくなるのだが、そういう機会が最近はまずない。

ただ、もう一つ飲まないつもりなのに飲んでしまうことがある。それはパートナーが飲んでいる場合だ。

付き合わないとならないと思ってしまう弱い自分をどう評価したら良いのだろうか？

I used to drink alcohol 365 days a year. I felt that the day wouldn't end without drinking alcohol.

Even so, last year I couldn't make a day where I could only drink about 60 days in a year.

But sometimes I can't be done. When I walked around for work in the hot weather, or when I had something I didn't like. Of course, I want to drink when I'm happy, but I rarely have such an opportunity these days.

However, I sometimes drink it even though I don't intend to drink it. That's when the partner is drinking.

How should I evaluate my weak self, who thinks I have to go out with me?
