「ブリテンズ・ゴッド・タレント」というオーディション番組で優勝してオペラ歌手、ポール・ポッツ氏の伝記映画。
物語は、ちょっと太っていて、いじめられっ子だったポッツ氏が、紆余曲折ありながら、オペラ歌手になるという夢を諦めずに挑戦し成功する所謂サクセス・ストーリー。
ヨーロッパ好きの私にとっては、彼の故郷であるウェールズの風景がとても興味深かった。
さらに彼が留学したヴェネツィアの風景は、やはりもう一度行きたいと思うような素敵な空間。これはオペラの歌声と共に、映画に華を添えていた。
子供の頃からのいじめ、勝負どころでの失敗、病気、交通事故、貧乏、父親との葛藤など障壁がある中で、妻、母親や友人からの後押しを受けて、ワンチャンスにかけたことが、成功に繋がっている。
伝記なので、最初から概ね想像できたストーリーだが、やはり清々しい気分になった映画だった。

The story is a so-called success story in which Mr. Potts, who was a little fat and bullied, challenges and succeeds without giving up his dream of becoming an opera singer, despite the twists and turns.
For me, who loves Europe, the scenery of his hometown of Wales was very interesting.
Furthermore, the scenery of Venice where he studied abroad is a wonderful space that makes me want to go again. This, along with the singing voice of the opera, added glamor to the movie.
In the midst of barriers such as bullying since childhood, failure in the game, illness, traffic accidents, poverty, and conflict with my father, I was encouraged by my wife, mother and friends to take a chance. It has led to success.
It's a biography, so it's a story that I could almost imagine from the beginning, but it was a movie that made me feel refreshed.
