「ジゴロ・イン・ニューヨーク」"Fading Gigolo" [Impression]
ジョン・タトゥーロが監督・脚本・主演している。本人が勿論ジゴロ役だ。
ウッディ・アレンは、主役である友人を唆してジゴロにするポン引き役で出演。しかも、あまり信心深くないユダヤ教徒。
そのため、ユダヤの人達との交流がある。
この映画の中で、私にとって、わかりやすい点とわかりにくい点があった。
わかりやすい点は、アメリカ人はセックスが本当に好きで、そのことを、恥ずかしがらないこと。
そして、ニューヨークはいろんな文化の人が住んでいること。
わかりにくい点は、正統派ユダヤ教のしきたりや考え方だ。男性のヘアスタイルでは、両脇の毛が巻き髪になっていたし、握手もしてはならないとのこと。
もう少し自分がユダヤ教のことを理解していれば、この映画の奥深い部分まで、楽しめたかもしれない。
そうした意味では、この映画はコメディという位置付けだが、私にとっては、ヒューマンドラマの要素を強く感じた。
