徐々に春らしくなってきた3月中旬。しかし、気温は真冬に戻り、しかも強い雨が降った。そんな中でナイターのラグビー試合を観戦した。勿論、傘をさして見ることが出来ないため、ダウンパーカーとジーパンの上に登山用の雨具を着込んだ。
そのため、全身ずぶ濡れとはならなかった。しかし、手袋を忘れたのと、防水の靴を履いてこなかったので、手指と足首あたりまでがびっしょりと濡れ、凍えることになった。
入場者数は確か2600人くらいで、席もまばらだったが、前半戦だけで帰った人が多く、後半はさらに人は少なかった。
途中で帰ろうかと迷ったが、折角初めての秩父宮ラグビー場に来たので、濡れる気持ち悪さと手足の冷たさに耐えて、最後まで観戦することに途中で決めた。
結果的には、ホームチームである横浜キャノンイーグルスが2本のトライを決めて勝ったので、気分は少しは応援した甲斐があったと思う。
因みに、バックスの選手達も試合中に腿上げしたりしていたが、多分よほど寒かったのだろう。
次の応援は、4月下旬なので、寒さ対策は不要だろうが、雨対策はしっかりやらないとならないと反省した。何事も良くない経験をする事で、成長するのだし。

I was wondering if I should go home on the way, but since I came to the Chichibu Memorial Rugby Stadium for the first time, I endured the unpleasant feeling of getting wet and the coldness of my limbs, and decided to watch the game until the end.
As a result, the home team Yokohama Canon Eagles won by deciding two tries, so I think it was worth the support.
