ウィズダム英和辞典の使い道 How to use the WISDOM English-Japanese dictionary [essay]
英会話を勉強するためには、まず英和辞典が必要だと思って購入したが、実はあまり使っていない。それは、普段使っているiPadに同じ英和辞典が既にインストールされているからだ。
辞典を開いて、一枚一枚ページをめくり、単語を探し当てるのと、カーソルを置いてクリックするのと、時間のかかり方は違うのに結果は同じだ。
時間が有り余っているなら、単語を調べたついでに、その単語の他の意味や、例文をよく読むして覚えていける。
場合によっては、その周辺の単語も調べられる。だから、紙の辞典が不要だとは思わない。
しかし、コンピューターやwebの機能が便利になった今、リアルな辞典の使い方が変わっているのではないかと思う。
現に、子供の頃、実家にあった百科事典などを置いてある家は少なくなった。
立派な辞典を、下手なデッサンの題材にするには、勿体なさ過ぎるので、もう少し効果的な使い方を考えてみたい。
In order to study English conversation, I first thought that I needed an English-Japanese dictionary, so I bought it, but I haven't used it much.

If you have time to spare, you can look up a word and then read and remember the other meanings of the word and the example sentences.
In some cases, the words around it can also be looked up. So I don't think a paper dictionary is not needed.
However, now that the functions of computers and the web have become more convenient, I think that the usage of realistic dictionaries has changed.
In fact, when I was a kid, the number of homes with encyclopedias that I had in my parents' home has decreased.
It's too wasteful to use a good dictionary as a subject for poor drawing, so I'd like to think about how to use it more effectively.
