みなとみらい線新高島駅にあるB ankART Stationで開催している和光大学表現学部芸術学科の卒業制作展。

特に縁もゆかりもないが、無料なので寄ってみた。入り口で記帳し作品が全て掲載されているカタログまで頂いた。

デザイン・製本、写真・映像、立体・インスタレーション、絵画、論文など多彩な作品が展示されている。

しかし、カタログにはあるが、展示されていない作品もあった。実は会場がもう一つあり、どうもそちらの会場の方に展示されているようだ。

それぞれの力作を見ながら、学生達を羨ましく思いながらも、結構大変だったのかもしれないとも思った。

アートを鑑賞する側は気楽で楽しいけれど、作る側は悩み抜いて、苦しんで作るのかもしれない。

それでも、作品を観ていると、やはり楽しんでいるようにも思う。
楽しくなければ芸術じゃないかもしれない。

A graduation exhibition of the Department of Art Studies, Faculty of Representation, Wako University, held at BankART Station at Shin-Takashima Station on the Minatomirai Line.

I don't have any particular connection, but it's free so I stopped by. I got a catalog at the entrance where all the works were posted.

A variety of works such as design / bookbinding, photography / video, 3D / installation, paintings, and dissertations are exhibited.

However, there were some works that were not exhibited, although they were in the catalog. Actually, there is another venue, and it seems that it is exhibited at that venue.

Looking at each masterpiece, I envied the students, but I also thought that it might have been quite difficult.

The side who appreciates art is easy and fun, but the side who makes it may be worried and suffer.

Still, when I watch the work, I think I'm still enjoying it.
If it's not fun, it may not be art.

夜、一人でYouTubeを見ながらお酒を飲んでいた時、愛犬にナッツを盗み食いされていた。

酔っ払っていたために、自分が食べたのだろうと思い込んでいた。

翌日、犬は朝の散歩時に普通のウンチをしていたが、エサを食べなかった。そして、妙に自分にすり寄ってきていた。

昼過ぎに吐いた。そうしたら、アーモンド、クルミ、カシューナッツが幾つも出てきた。

そこでようやく、昨晩のことを思い出して、自分の不注意だったことが分かった。

食べる犬もバカだが、自分もバカだったと反省。
犬はその後も何度かナッツを吐いたので、夕方のエサは食べた。

そして、今朝の散歩ではウンチに2つアーモンドがそのままの形で入っていたのを確認した。

もう胃腸の中には残っていないことを祈るしかない。

この犬はこれまで固いものを飲み込んでしまい、開腹手術を一度しているので、もう失敗は許されない。反省反省。

2月も残りわずかだが、朝の散歩で感じるのが太陽の位置。日が当たり温かさを感じていたら、思いがけずに影が見えた。

太陽の位置が低ければ影が長いのは当然だが、季節の変化を感じるようになったことが嬉しい。

実は、犬の背丈は40〜50センチほどなのに、自分の半分ほどにも影が伸びていた。犬もさぞかし驚いただろう。

「オロロ畑でつかまえて」萩原浩 "Catch in the Ororo field" Hiroshi Hagiwara

少し前に私は「陽気なギャングが地球を回す」という本を読んだ。それは、笑える小説という分類から探したものだった。
今回は「ユーモア小説の傑作」と呼ばれるこの作品にトライした。

著者は、この作品で第10回小説すばる新人賞受賞を受賞している。また、「明日の記憶」という作品では、山本周五郎賞も受賞しているし、今はその選考委員にもなっている。つまり、ユーモア小説だけではない作家さんだ。

この作品を一言で紹介すれば、「東北の寂れた村の村おこし」だ。強い訛りの表現を除き、ストーリー展開は軽妙であり、気楽に読み進めた。

興味深いのは各章のタイトル。全て広告業界で使われる用語である。そして、それがきちんとタイトルになり得ているところは、感心した。

内容はユーモア小説というだけあって、確かに随所に笑いのネタが盛り込まれている。
ただ、ゲラゲラ笑うというのではなく、クスッと笑う感じだ。

この登場人物たちが繰り広げる違うストーリー、つまり続編があれば私は読んでみたいと思った。

What is interesting is the title of each chapter. All are terms used in the advertising industry. And I was impressed that it could be the title properly.

The content is just a humorous novel, and it certainly contains laughter stories everywhere.
However, it's not like laughing, it's like laughing.

I would love to read if there was a different story of these characters, a sequel.

ロシアがウクライナへ侵攻 Russia invades Ukraine

とうとうロシアがウクライナに侵攻した。
ウクライナや米国の大統領などは、確かなその危険性が高いことを盛んにPRしていた。

しかし、日本のロシア通の識者の見解は、「そんな暴挙に出るはずがない」という論調だったので、自分もそう思い込んでいた。

プーチン大統領が、どのようなシナリオを描いているのか分からない。ウクライナが親ロシア政府になれば良いとは思っているだろうが、今すぐにそうはならないはずだ。

そうなると、プーチン大統領は、落としどころをどう考えているのだろう。

一方、ウクライナをはじめ、米国やNATO加盟国、そして日本などは、ロシアに対して、それぞれの出来る最大の強烈なパンチを打ち返さないとならない。

確かに武力衝突はダメだとは思うが、甘く見られると、他の強権国家も同様の行動を起こしやすくなり、第三次世界大戦という最悪な流れになりかねない。

各国は、ロシアの人民に対して、プーチンの判断が間違っていることを正確に伝え、ロシア政府内部からプーチンを崩さないとならないが、それも時間がかかる。

「ラビット・ホール」KAAT神奈川芸術劇場 "Rabbit Hall" KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theater

私にとって、久しぶりの演劇鑑賞。新型コロナウィルスの感染者がスタッフの中に出たとのことで、これまでの公演が中止となっていた。

そのため、本日が初日である。
ところで、この作品は、ピューリッツァー賞戯曲部門受賞作であり、当然ながら内容はアメリカのものである。

その作品の上演台本を書いたのが、篠崎絵里子氏。アニメ「ちびまる子ちゃん」や連続テレビ小説「まれ」など数々の作品を手がけた方。

また、演出家は、小山ゆうな氏。「人の生き死に」と共にある『日常』を描いている。

舞台は、ニューヨーク郊外の閑静な住宅街に暮らす夫婦は、一人息子を交通事故で無くし約8ヶ月経った頃から始まる。

その事故依頼、夫婦関係も良くない状況であるが、それが家族のやり取りの中で、徐々に溶けていく。

時間が解決している部分もあるが、本当に「日常の中の非日常」を感じた。

そして、5人の役者の演技も秀逸であり、休憩の15分を含めて約2時間半の間、身動きさえも最小限に抑えるほど、集中して鑑賞した。

舞台がアメリカなので、その文化や習慣の違いがあるところが少しだけ違和感があったが、それはやむを得ないと思った。

いい芝居を観ることは、いい本に巡り合えた時と同じような感動がある。今後も、評判の良い芝居があれば、観に行くことにした。

会津娘 純米吟醸酒「帰忘郷(きぼうきょう)」Aizu Musume Junmai Ginjo Sake "Kibokyo"

福島県の大熊町は、福島第一原発の事故により8年間、住民が誰もがいなかった町。

その町のまちづくり公社が、販売元となったのが、この「帰忘郷」だ。

大熊町産の五百万石という米を使い、会津若松の髙橋庄作酒造店で作ってもらったそうだ。

実は、このプロジェクトは、クラウドファンディングにより資金が集められた。

大熊町に関係する人の紹介もあり、私もそれに参加したことで、送ってもらったので、感慨もひとしおだ。

味は純米吟醸酒の割に辛口であるが、流石に精米歩合55%ということで、とても飲みやすく仕上がっている。

ということで、一晩で飲み干してしまった。

「日本国紀」百田尚樹 "Japanese History" Naoki Hyakuta

私は以前からこの本が気になっていた。500ページに及ぶ大作でとても厚いので、読むのを少し躊躇していた。しかし、最近、日本の歴史に関する本を読むことが増えたので、思い切って、チャレンジしてみた。

これまで、私は著者の小説、新書など読んできて、彼は日本の国と日本人をとても誇りに思っていることを知っていた。そんな著者がどのような日本の通史を書くのか楽しみでもあった。

この本は、「私たちは何者なのか？」という深い問いに対して、神話の時代から戦国時代、明治維新、戦争などを経て、日本の歴史を通して知ることで、それを考えてみようとしている。

物語は、縄文時代から始まる。その後は、全ての時代を丁寧に描きながら、平成に辿り着くという構成になっている。

そのため、時代の流れをつかみやすい。個々の出来事もわかりやすく概略が解説されている。

中でも、「コラム」が面白かった。著者が主張したい内容なので、事実かどうかはさておき、百田節が炸裂する。まさに「天晴れ！」だ。

いずれにしても、この本は教科書や学術書でない。著者の言いたい放題である。読み物として、読めば良いのだ。

そして、勿論、自分が知らなかったことも詳細に描かれており、さらに日本の歴史を知りたくなった点で私にとってはもっと早く読んでおけばよかったのにと後悔した。

何より、自分が知らない日本史が沢山あることを知ることが出来た。それが大きな収穫であった。

この本を勧めるとすれば、日本や日本が素晴らしいと思いたい人にとっては、とても気持ちが良いはずだ。そんな人達なら、なにはともあれ、一度読んでみたらどうだろうか？

しかし、彼女らのやりたいゲームが出来ずに完敗だった。試合後のインタビューで悔しがった選手たちは、金メダルを取れなかった時ことではなく、自分達が思う通りのプレーをやり切れなかったことに対して悔しがったのだと思う。

それでも、世界で2位。銀メダルを得た。胸を張って帰国して欲しい。
そして、4年に一度だけでなく、もっとカーリングを日本の中でポピュラーなスポーツにして欲しいと思った。

試合後に描いた布は、柔らかい素材で全くうまく描けなかった。こちらは、自分の力がなさすぎて、悔しい限りだ。

自分の気になる症状を7〜8ほど選んで、ツボを確認したら、結局14で済んだ。

その程度のツボならなんとか、忘れないで覚えておけるかもしれない。そんな読み方をお薦めする。

北京オリンピックのカーリング女子のゲームにハマっていることは、先日書いた。

一次リーグを突破出来るかどうかのいわば天王山が米国戦だった。

ロコ・ソラーレは、序盤から幸先よく4点差をつけた。しかし、後半に同点にされた。

そこからは、ハラハラドキドキの連続となった。それでも、彼女たちは冷静にしかも真剣勝負を楽しみながら、ゲームに集中した。

結果は10対7で勝った。予選リーグは残り1試合だが、まだまだ彼女たちの活躍を見たいので、是非準決勝に進んで欲しい。(写真はイメージ画像:pixabay)

氷上のチェスと言われるように、とても考えさせられる。とは言え、頭脳プレイだけでなく、ストーンを押し出す技術、献身的なスイープなどは完全にアスリートの要素がある。そうした意味で見ていて面白い。

そう言えば、前回のオリンピックでもついつい見てしまったのが、このカーリングである。

しかも、デンマーク戦やROC戦などは最後の最後に大逆転劇だったので、思わず見とれてしまった。
そして、今回もこの競技をフォローしようと決めた。

しかし、そう決めてからの韓国戦や英国戦は、精度の差がはっきりと出ていて、残念ながら勝ち目がない感じがした。

予選リーグはあと2試合。米国とスイスという競合国相手なので、彼女たちには気持ちをリセットして頑張って欲しい。

「コロナ鎖国」という言い方で話題になっている日本の入国規制。在留資格を持つ留学生、技能実習生、外国籍の家族が、約37万人もいるという。

昨年11月から行っているが、国内でも感染が拡大している中で、水際対策の意味を問われている。

そんな中、アメリカのカリフォルニア大学などが、2023年3月まで留学生を送らないと決めた。

また、タイ、マレーシア、フィリピンなどでは、観光客に対しても入国制限を緩和し始めた。

各国の日本大使館前でも日本の入国規制を緩和すべきというプラカードを掲げられたりしているし、日本の経済界も政府にそれを求めている。

そして、ようやく政府は2月末で規制を撤廃する検討をするという。

岸田政権はこれまで、来年の参院選への影響を考えて、徹底した強い規制にこだわってきたが、日本の良き理解者となってくれる外国籍の人々を失うと国際競争力も失うと分かったのだろう。

自分達の選挙のためではなく、長期的な日本の未来を考えて早く決断してもらいたかった。

そして、留学生やビジネスマンだけでなく、観光客の入国制限も外したらどうだろうか？

キャラクターの設定、言葉使い、物語の展開、奇想天外さ、どれをとっても初めての体験だった。映画化もされているとのことで、著者が人気作家である理由もよくわかった。

しかし、読後の感想として、確かに笑える内容ではあったが、私は声に出して笑うことはなかった。

自分の笑点は、多分子供の頃に読んだ漫画「トイレット博士」とか、村上龍氏の「69」の教室に侵入して起こすある出来事なのだ。

実は、どちらも共通しているのが、「うんこ」であり、あまりに子どもっぽいので、恥ずかしいが本当のことなので仕方ない。

この情けない私の笑点を変えてくれる作品を探すしかない。

何冊かの初心者の本を読み、ルールとして季語を入れることを理解した。つまり、季語がわからないと俳句が作れないということ。

そこで、ネットで検索して最も初心者向けの本を購入。それがこの本だ。

初心者の自分が、この本の評価をすることは出来ないが、まずは、この本に書かれた季語を参考に辛うじて川柳にならないように作り始めている。

しかし、例題として記載されている俳句を詠んでも、難しくてまだその良さがよくわからない。

どうしても、最初に浮かぶイメージがサラリーマン川柳風になってしまうのが、サラリーマン生活が長い男の性なのだろか？

つまり、武力か経済を問わず、国際的な紛争に対して、「俺はそんなことに付き合わないから、勝手にやれば？」という態度がとれないのだ。

そう考えると、昔ながらのカッコいい一本筋の通った日本男児的な態度は取れない。

言い換えれば、「二枚舌、太鼓持ち」と言われるような調子の良い国として立ち居振る舞いしなくてはならない。

東急シアターオーブ Tokyu Theater Orb

先日、初めて訪れたシアターオーブ。ミュージカル専用劇場とのことで、とてもよく出来ている。

渋谷ヒカリエなので、渋谷駅に直結で、しかも11階が入り口なので、渋谷の街を一望出来る。

コロナ禍でなく、しかも夜の公演なら、休憩時間にワインやビールでも飲みながら、夜景を楽しめるはずだ。

一階席に向かうと、正面に大きな緞帳があった。初めはピカソの作品かと思ったが、解説文を読むと、建築家ル・コルビジェの作品を再現したもの。

以前、この場所にあった東急文化会館の映画館「パンテオン」の緞帳を1/5にして再現したという。

なるほど粋な計らいだ。シアターは音響などとても素晴らしかった。

また、国連機関で働いた経験がある著者による国連の説明、「国連はドブ掃除でもめる町内会」の例えもよく理解出来た。

さらに、国民性の部分は事実かどうかは別として、イタリア人の風呂嫌い、ドスケベなドイツ人など、読み物として楽しく読んだ。

少し辛辣な言葉もあるが、国際感覚という観点で言えば、ぬるま湯に使った日本人、特に国際的な状況を少しでも知りたいという人にはお勧めの本だと思う。

まだ、全部で73話もあるので、当面はこれで楽しめそうだ。

「Singin' in the Rain〜雨に唄えば〜」

私にとっては、初めての東急シアターオーブ。公演は2部制で約2時間40分。観客席はほぼ満席の状態だった。

役者は全て外国人でセリフも英語。そのため、舞台の両脇に字幕が出ていた。英語を勉強しているが、ネイティブの速さにはまだついていけず、字幕を見続けることになった。

それでも、ダンスと歌の時には、役者に注目出来た。完成度の高い演技、ダンス、歌などとても感動した。

また、音楽が録音ではなく、生演奏だったことにも驚いた。第2幕になってから初めて楽団のメンバーが紹介されたのだ。

そして、極め付けは「雨」。14トンも降らせたようだ。水飛沫をダンスや音楽に合わせて利用するのは、なかなか見る機会はないし、ポンチョを被った前列の観客達も水飛沫をかけられて、喜んでいたようだ。

そうした意味で、何から何まで素晴らしいミュージカルだった。

今回は密を避けるという目的もあったが、あえて節分後にすることにしていた。その理由は、占いを趣味にしている家人の友人の勧めによる。

実は、何故、そのようなことを勧めたのか、その理由を私は聞きたい。しかし、家人をとおして聞くのも面倒なので、その勧めに従うことにしたのだ。

結果的には、とてもスムースに参拝出来、しかも御守りも買えた。しかも、何組か御守りを買う参拝客もいたので、そのような考え方もあるのだと、納得した。

なんでも関西が発祥だそうだが、最近は豆まきと恵方巻きがセットになっているようだ。

いずれにしても、色々な事情から少しずつ伝統文化も変わっていくのだろう。

コロナ禍でなければ、横浜中華街では大変な賑わいのはずだが、今年も厳しいだろう。

でも、意気消沈していられないという気概を感じた獅子舞だった。
