まっすぐに生きるという純粋な気持ちにさせてくれる花を、新年度目前に見ることが出来たことは、運が良かったのかもしれない。

そして、国として重要な、「年金、医療、介護などの社会保障制度や、中長期のエネルギー確保と脱炭素の両立という難しい問題を先送りして、目先のひとときの満足のためにお金を配ること」を、まさに「ゆでガエル政治」と執筆者は指摘している。

この内容はご最もであるし、自分も常々そう思っていたので、執筆者の(琴線)さんには、「よく言ってくれた」と拍手を送りたい。

そこで、どんな人が書いているのかと調べてみた。すると、この大機小機というコラムは、匿名を貫いており、しかも日経新聞の社員ではないとのこと。

なるほど、だから与党からクレームが来そうな内容でも辛辣なコラムを書けるのかとさらに納得した。

ところで、問題は「ゆでガエル政治」をどう変えるかだが、執筆者が主張するように制度を変えることも必要かもしれない。

しかし、本質的には、質の低い政治家が選ばれないようにするしか方法はない。目先のお金を配るような議論をするようなバカな政治家は、不要だと有権者が思うことが大事だ。

つまり、結局は政治家を選ぶ国民にも責任があるということだ。

「俳句、はじめました」岸本葉子 "Haiku, I started" Yoko Kishimoto

これまで著者のことをあまり知らなかったが、日経新聞に連載されているエッセイを読んで、面白い人だと思っていた。

その人が「俳句をはじめた」というので、気になってこの本を読んでみた。

そして、実はこの本を読んでいる途中に、著者について調べた。そうしたら、すでに「NHK俳句」の人気司会者になっていることが分かった。

確かにこの本が書かれたのは、約10年前なので、その間に俳句の達人になったのだろう。そうだったのかと驚くとともに、素晴らしいことだと思った。

私自身は、今年から独学で俳句を勉強しはじめたので、少しでも参考になればとの思いで、この本を選んだ。

結論を先に言えば、少しどころではなく、大いに参考になった。かなりと言ってもいい。そして、俳句の奥深さも感じることが出来た。

この本では、俳句初心者であった著者が、句会に一年間参加しながら、四苦八苦して句を作る様が、紹介されている。それも、とても詳細に描かれている。

予め、本としてまとめることを想定していたことは想像できる。しかし、それ以上に、自分にとってはズバズバと直球が投げ込まれる感覚があった。

著者は、あとがきで、「当時の私は、俳句は知的な遊びだと考えていた。」と述べている。私も同感であるが、そんな生優しいものでないことが、よく理解できた。

あえて、注意点を言うならば、著者は初心者と言えども、人気のエッセイスト。つまり言葉のプロだ。一般人とは、元々の素養、ベースが違う。

だから、全てを鵜呑みに出来ない部分もある。しかし、初心者が俳句の奥深さを知るには、とても良い本だ。自分がそうであったように。

Therefore, there are some parts that cannot be swallowed. However, it is a very good book for beginners to know the depth of haiku. He was like he was.

「近代建築を超えて」海外建築視察回顧展 "Beyond Modern Architecture" Overseas Architecture Inspection Retrospective Exhibition

横浜山手の山手イタリア山庭園内のブラフ18番館ホールで開催されている標記写真展を見に行った。

日本建築学会神奈川支所の企画展である。韓国、ネパール、インド、フランス、チベット、中国、ドイツ、オランダの視察旅行で近代建築を解釈して今後求められる建築を考える企画だという。

流石に建築の先生方の視察なため、視点が面白い。歴史、風土は勿論のこと、死生観、集住の有り様、環境対策、ツーリズムなど多様な課題に向き合いながら建築を見ているようだ。

全部で50枚くらいのパネル展示だが、写真もプロのカメラマンが撮っているかのような腕前だし、解説もしっかりしていて、なかなか完成度が高い内容だった。

この本を選んだのは、「西洋の意外な風俗から秘密の趣味まで」というサブタイトルに惹かれたからだ。

著者はいくつかの大学教授を歴任されたドイツ文学の先生。

世界史が苦手な人に、当時の政治、経済などを知ってもらうのではなく、風俗などの文化を雑学的に知ってもらうために書かれたそうだ。

そのため、時系列でも国別でもなく、次のような項目ごとに章立てされている。

例えば、「性愛・結婚」「しきたり・風俗」「料理・食物」「病気・医療」「浴場・トイレ・衛生」という感じだ。

つまり、世界史というより、どうでもいい小ネタを集めている。
そうした意味で、「よく調べ上げているなぁ〜」というのが第一感想だった。

そして、第二の感想としては、「仮にタイムスリップしても、住みたくない」ということ。

特に、花の都パリなどと言われるが、街中を歩く時に、アパートメントから道に糞尿が捨てられるそうで、通行人は頭からそれをかぶることもあったらしい。

そのことは、聞いたことがあったがやはり嫌だ。また、皆、風呂に入らずに体臭がきつかったという。香水が開発されたのもそのためなのだろう。

貧乏で質素だが、清潔好きな日本人にとっては、考えられない。

いずれにしても、確かに小ネタを紹介している教科書はないだろう。
でも、教科書にトピックスや閑話休題として、こんな小ネタが書かれていば、世界史を好きになる学生が増えたのではないかと私は思った。

今後、特にヨーロッパの歴史に関する本を読んだり、映画や音楽を鑑賞する際には、これらの内容を踏まえることができることがこの本を読んだメリットだと思う。

ということで、体系的に世界史を勉強したい人にはお薦めしないが、飲み会での小ネタを探す人にはちょうど良い本だと勧めたい。

However, I thought that if such a small story was written in the textbook as a topic or a quiet talk, the number of students who would like world history would increase.

In the future, I think it is a merit of reading this book that I can keep these contents in mind, especially when reading books on European history, watching movies and music.

So, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to study world history systematically, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small story at a drinking party.

ゲーム・オブ・スローンズ（GOT）の魅力 The appeal of Game of Thrones (GOT)

とにかくハマった。毎日観たくて仕方がなった。まるで中毒症状。そして、見終えてしまった今は、とても空虚な気分である。GOTレスだ。さらに面白そうな海外の長編ドラマを求めている自分はすでに禁断症状になっているともいえる。

ところで、何故、私がGOTにハマったのか、既に分かり切ったことかもしれないが、自分なりに少し冷静に分析してみることにした。

（物語）
一言で言えば、16世紀頃の架空のヨーロッパあたりにおける王国の国盗り合戦である。日本でも戦国時代の話の人気があるが、フィクションなので、結末が想像出来ないため、ハラハラドキドキ感がある。

内容は各国の戦争がメインである。裏切り、忠誠、愛情、友情、絆、寝返り、スパイ、近親相姦、娼婦、罠、宗教、奴隷制度などいろいろな要素がある。

（キャスト）
最初のうちは誰が主役なのか分からない。何故なら、いろいろな国のシーンが毎回目まぐるしく展開していき、同時進行していくからだ。主役だと思っている人がいとも簡単に殺されたりもする。

だから、誰がどのよう立場なのかを理解するために、「相関図」を用意しながら見る必要がある。国によって、なんとなく顔つき、つまり人種が違うこともキチンと表現されている。

そして、長い間の撮影なので、キャストも歳をとる。特に子役の成長は目を見張る。
そして何よりも大変なのが女優。ほぼすべての女優が必ず一度は脱ぐシーンがある。

大勢の群衆の中で全裸となるシーンなどを見るととても気の毒にもなるが、躊躇がないのが凄い。男優はほぼ決闘や暴力のシーンがある。

（長編）
シーズン8まであり全編で73話ある。概ね１編50分くらいだが、最後の方は75分くらいあるなど、兎に角長い。因みにNHKの大河ドラマは長くても50話。最近は40話くらいである。

（ロケ地）
風景としては、砂漠地帯、厳寒の雪国、平穏な海原、森林地帯、古代の都市、古城など「ほとんど想像できる場所はすべて」と言ってもいいくらいだ、そして、どれも絵になる風景である。実際のロケ地は北アイルランド、マルタ、クロアチア、アイスランド、モロッコ、スコットランド、スペイン、アメリカ、カナダ、インドネシア、ブラジル、中国など世界中である。

（シーン）
とにかく迫力が凄い。戦闘シーンは勿論のことだが、暴力、殺戮、監禁、拷問、セックスなどのシーンは日本のテレビや映画では絶対に見ることができないものばかり。
当然、子供と一緒には見ることはお勧めできない。

（ファンタジー）
リアルなものだけでなく、人を食べる野人、ドラゴンやゾンビ、魔法などもある。一度死んでも生き返ったり、過去や未来が透視できる登場人物も出てくる。つまりなんでもあり。

ということで、すべてが超越しているドラマである。当然、製作費も一シーズンあたり約1億ドルと半端ないほどコストがかかっている。

観る人によって好き嫌いはあると思うが、とにかく凄いということは間違いない。続編が作られると聞いているが、この作品のレベルを超えるのは中々難しいのではないかと思う。

最近、私は他人の庭に咲いている花が目に入ることがある。確かに花は綺麗だと思うが、鉢やプランターが汚れていたりすると美しさが半減する気がする。

それとは違い、道端に自然に生えている雑草のような花に美しさを感じるようになった。

自力で育っている力強さがよいのか、汚れたプランターがないから良いのか、それはわからない。

冒頭の花をアプリで調べたら、ラッパスイセンだそうだ。いつまで、どんなふうに咲くのか、毎朝が楽しみとなる。

まさに、子供が成長して自立していくように。

「アイラブアート16 視覚トリップ展 」ワタリウム美術館 "I Love Art 16 Visual Trip Exhibition" Watarium Art Museum

青山のキラー通り沿いに建つ横線が目立つ美術館。スイスの建築家マリオ・ボッタの設計である。

現代アートが中心で国内外の作家のこだわりの作品が2〜4階の三角形の各フロアに展示されている。

今回の展覧会のサブタイトルは、「〜ウォーホル、パイク、ボイス15人のドローイングを中心に〜」である。

ウォーホルは初期の作品などがあり、なかなか興味深かった。

ちょうど、17時前に入館したため、スタッフが展示品についてのギャラリートークをしてくれる機会があり、それがなかなかよかった。

1階と地下にミュージアムショップがあるが、こちらも狭い空間のなかでも商品がたくさんあり、そして、作品展示などもあり、とても充実していた。

いつもよりお参りに参加する家族の人数も多くなり、亡き父と義父は喜んでいるだろう。

因みに、墓前に備えた花はスプレーカーネーションだが、俳句ではカーネーションが初夏の季語になるらしく、季語が重なるので、赤い花と表現した。

もっと良い表現があるのだろうが、思いつかない。先祖にお願いするしかないか？

「行方不明」サンシャイン劇場 "Missing" Sunshine Theater

前回見たお芝居が「ラビット・ホール」というシリアスな人間ドラマだったので、コメディを見たくなって観ることにした。

まず初めに、劇場はお芝居を観るための専用劇場で、生のセリフが聞こえる大きさであったが、客席の前後間が少し狭く、古さを感じた。

脚本家は、「るろうに剣心」などを手がける藤井清美氏。主役には元光GENJIの佐藤アツヒロ氏。元宝塚のトップスターの真琴つばさ氏も脇を固める。

物語は、小さな旅行代理店で発生した積立金の横領事件の中で、とにかく「運が悪い」主役が奮闘する会社コメディ。誰が何のために行ったのかなどを探すミステリー的な要素もある。

1幕目は60分。20分の休憩後に2幕目が75分。でも、全く長さを感じることはなかった。

時代設定が2019年で、翌年予定されていた東京オリンピックについて、「本当に開催されるか、開会式になるまでわからない」というセリフは、納得感が特にあった。

ということで、確かにコメディタッチではあるが、誰もが持っている「未来への不安と希望」について、この芝居を通して、メッセージが送られてきたような気がした。

「フェルメールとオランダ絵画展」東京都美術館 "Vermeer and Dutch Painting Exhibition" Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum

これまでフェルメールが自分で消したと考えられてきた「窓辺で手紙を読む女」の画中画のキューピッド。

実は、これは何者かによって彼の死後に消されていたことが分かった。

そして今回、元のキューピッドがいる絵に戻す修復作業が終わり、所蔵館のドレスデン国立古典絵画館以外では世界で初めて公開された。

そんな前評判があったので、絶対に見に行きたいと思っていた。
ちょうど、都内に出る機会があったので、それに合わせて行くことにした。

実はオンラインで日時指定券を購入しておいた。予約した時間より1.5時間前に到着したが、多分早くても入場出来るだろうとたかを括っていたが、ダメだった。

東京都立の施設だから仕方ないと諦め、館内のカフェ「アート」で紅茶を飲んで時間まで過ごした。

ようやく入場したところ、館内はかなり混んでいた。列になって一作品ずつ見て回るので、とても時間がかかる。

そして、ようやく「窓辺で手紙を読む女」のキューピッドなしとありの両方の作品を見ることが出来た。

私は、むしろキューピッドの画中画が無い方が構図としてはさっぱりしていて良いとさえ思った。

多分、何者かもそう思ってそれを消したのだろう。いずれにしても謎だが、その修復作業の記録なども展示されていて、とても興味深かった。

その他の展示作品もなかなか素晴らしく、17世紀という写真のない時代の写実的な絵の意味を感じ取れた展覧会だった。

Finally, I was able to see both the works without Cupid and with and without Cupid in "Girl Reading a Letter at the Window".

I even thought that it would be better to have a refreshing composition without Cupid's paintings.

Perhaps someone thought so and erased it. In any case, it is a mystery, but the record of the restoration work was also exhibited, which was very interesting.

The other works on display were also wonderful, and it was an exhibition where I could feel the meaning of the realistic paintings of the 17th century, when there were no photographs.

凍て返る夜雨に踊る楕円球 27 A rugby ball bouncing around in the rain at night when the cold has returned

徐々に春らしくなってきた3月中旬。しかし、気温は真冬に戻り、しかも強い雨が降った。そんな中でナイターのラグビー試合を観戦した。

勿論、傘をさして見ることが出来ないため、ダウンパーカーとジーパンの上に登山用の雨具を着込んだ。

そのため、全身ずぶ濡れとはならなかった。しかし、手袋を忘れたのと、防水の靴を履いてこなかったので、手指と足首あたりまでがびっしょりと濡れ、凍えることになった。

入場者数は確か2600人くらいで、席もまばらだったが、前半戦だけで帰った人が多く、後半はさらに人は少なかった。

途中で帰ろうかと迷ったが、折角初めての秩父宮ラグビー場に来たので、濡れる気持ち悪さと手足の冷たさに耐えて、最後まで観戦することに途中で決めた。

結果的には、ホームチームである横浜キャノンイーグルスが2本のトライを決めて勝ったので、気分は少しは応援した甲斐があったと思う。

因みに、バックスの選手達も試合中に腿上げしたりしていたが、多分よほど寒かったのだろう。

次の応援は、4月下旬なので、寒さ対策は不要だろうが、雨対策はしっかりやらないとならないと反省した。何事も良くない経験をする事で、成長するのだし。

「イン・ザ・プール」奥田英朗 "In the Pool" Hideo Okuda

この本は、最近のマイブームである「笑える小説」の一環で探し出した作品。

著者は、この作品で直木賞候補になり、さらに次の作品では直木賞を取ったそうなので、期待を持って読み始めた。

全5編からなる短編集ではあるが、一貫して登場する精神科医の主人公のキャラクターが医者らしくなく、自分勝手で、完全にぶっ飛んでいる。確かにそこが笑える。

しかし、「この医者はもしかしたら名医なのかも？」と思うこともあった。
あまり書くとネタバレになるので、詳細は省くが、今の生きにくい社会に対するメッセージが含まれているような気がしたのだ。

人にどう思われるかかを気にするあまり、自分の気持ちを制御してしまうことに対するアンチテーゼなのかもしれないと思うことがあった。

だから、少なくとも大笑い出来る内容ではない。でも、著者は「もっと気楽に自由に生きていいのでは？」ということを言いたかったようにも受け取れる。

このシリーズは他に2作品あるようなので、もう少し読んでみないと、私の考えが正しいのか、間違っているかはわからない。

So, at least it's not something you can laugh at. However, it seems that the author wanted to say, "Isn't it okay to live more comfortably and freely?"

There seem to be two other works in this series, so I can't tell if my idea is right or wrong without reading a little more.

「アンという名の少女3」"Anne with an “E”"

NHKで毎週日曜日の夜に放送されていたこの作品はNetflixが制作したものだ。

小説の「赤毛のアン」の方が有名だが、この作品はその小説を現代風にアレンジされている。

私はこのドラマを観て、当時の女性の立場、人種やLGBTの差別などの問題意識をよく理解した。

また、そうした問題に立ち向かおうとしていたアンなどの登場人物に共感もした。

さらに、カナダのプリンスエドワード島の風景や当時の生活スタイルなどもとても興味深かった。

同時並行で見ていたゲーム・オブ・スローンズの殺伐とした雰囲気から離れて、とても落ち着いて楽しめる作品で、Amazon prime Videoしか見れない私にとっては、NHKをありがたく思う機会となった。

これまで、私はずっと紙の申告書にこだわってきたが、申告書を手に入れ損ねたので、仕方なくe-taxにチャレンジしたのだ。

そうしたら、思いの外、簡単に出来てしまい、これまで利用してこなかったことを後悔した。

しかも、昨日からシステムが混み合っているのか、繋がらない状態だとの報道があった。

気温も急に上がり、コートもいらなくなっているが、自分の心持ちも、同様に春のような清々しい気分だ。

「七つの会議」池井戸潤 "The Seven Conferences" Jun Ikeido

企業犯罪の長編だが、それぞれの会議をテーマにした7つの短編から構成されている。つまり短編が章立てになっている。

池井戸作品らしく企業内の人間模様が細かく描かれており、それが物語の説得力を増し、さらにより深みのある内容になっている。

その方法として活用されているのが、最初に説明したそれぞれの短編。登場人物の立場、育った環境、家族や友人関係などを「会議」をテーマにしつつ丁寧に描いている。

最後の短編は、言ってみれば、とりまとめの章となるが、意外な展開もあり、最後まで一気に読み進めた。

池井戸作品は、重たいテーマが多いが、読者の立場では、間違いなく面白い作品のはずだと、安心して軽い気持ちで読めるのが良い。

「ミロ展 日本を夢みて」"Miro Exhibition: Dreaming of Japan"

Bunkamura ザ・ミュージアムで開催中のミロ展。

ピカソと並ぶスペインの巨匠であるミロが、実は日本の浮世絵や書道、焼き物などにかなり影響を受けていたことがよく分かる、そんな展示内容であった。

ミロと言えば、シュルレアリスム。つまり、かなり抽象的な絵というイメージが強かったが、最初の頃の作品には友人の肖像画などもあり、意外にも、それほど抽象的でもなかったことも発見のひとつだった。

さらには、あの抽象画などの作品の中には、日本の浮世絵、民芸品、陶芸、書道などに強く影響を受けていたことも新鮮な驚きだった。

つまり、ミロと日本とは相思相愛の関係だった、それを紐解くのがこの展覧会の趣旨だそうだ。

そんな感動を覚え、ついつい重たい図録と額縁やハガキなどを購入してしまった。

そして、なんと出口を出たところで、飲料の「ミロ」を一人ずつ配られていた。全く関係がないのに何故かと思ったが、まさに「ミロ」繋がり。ネッスル社の洒落た宣伝だった。

最後まで驚きの展覧会であった。

I was so impressed that I just bought a heavy catalog, a picture frame, and postcards.

And when I got out of the exit, I was handed out the drink "Milo" one by one. I wondered why it had nothing to do with it, but it was just a "Miro" connection. It was a fancy promotion for Nestlé.

It was a surprising exhibition until the end.

「N響オーチャード定期 第118回」"NHK Symphony Orchestra Regular 118th"

渋谷東急のBunkamuraオーチャードホールで開催されているNHK交響楽団の定期演奏会。私は今回初めて訪れた。

開場は、開演の1時間前。そして、俳優の檀ふみさんがナビゲーターとなり、本日の指揮者である原田慶太楼さんとジャスピアニストの小曽根真さんによるプレトークがあった。

彼らが話をする時は、英語だとのことだったが、観客が日本人なので、当然ながら、日本語で話してくれた。

割とフランクで、冗談混じりのやりとりは面白く、私を含めて観客の気持ちを和ませてくれた。

ところで、今回の演奏会のサブタイトルは、「コンサートホールで世界旅行！　アメリカ！」である。

ミュージカルやジャズの素敵なサウンドをN響という日本最高峰のオーケストラが演奏するのも、なんとなく勿体ないような感じもしたが、いろんなバリエーションがあることを示しているのだろう。

私はクラシック音楽には全くの素人だが、楽器の数も多いせいか、音に深みがある感じがした。

今回の楽曲の中では、小曽根さんのジャズピアノとコラボレートした「ラプソディ・イン・ブルー」がやはり一番良かった。

さらに、その後に小曽根氏が一人で弾いたアンコール曲の「Reborn」も秀逸だった。流石に世界的なピアニストだけある。

東京に住んでいる人の利点は、こうした素晴らしい音楽を生で聴くことが出来ることだと改めて感じた一日だった。

A regular concert of the NHK Symphony Orchestra held at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya Tokyu. I visited for the first time this time.

Doors open one hour before the performance starts. Then, actor Fumi Dan became the navigator, and there was a pre-talk by today's conductor Keitaro Harada and Jaspianist Makoto Ozone.

When they talked, they said it was in English, but since the audience was Japanese, they naturally spoke in Japanese.

It was rather frank, and the exchanges mixed with jokes were interesting, and it made the audience feel soothed, including myself.

By the way, the subtitle of this concert is "Travel the world at the concert hall! America!".

The wonderful sound of musicals and jazz played by NHK Symphony Orchestra, which is the highest peak in Japan, seemed to be a waste, but it seems to indicate that there are various variations.

I'm a complete amateur in classical music, but I felt that the sound was deep, probably because of the large number of instruments.

Of all the songs this time, "Rhapsody in Blue", which was a collaboration with Mr. Kosone's jazz piano, was still the best.

Furthermore, the encore song "Reborn" played by Mr. Kosone alone after that was also excellent. As expected, there are only world-class pianists.

It was a day when I realized again that the advantage of living in Tokyo is that I can listen to such wonderful music live.

教訓を忘れず実施東北忌 25 Don't forget the lessons learned The Tohoku great disaster.

毎年この時期になると思い出すのは、あの日のあの時の風景。大きくぐらッと揺れたので、急いで事務所の外の駐車場に飛び出した。そこで大きく揺れる電信柱や樹木を目の当たりにした。幸い事務所もスタッフも被害がなかった。
そして、しばらくしてから見た津波の映像。現実のこととは思えず、ＣＧで作られた映画でも観ているような感覚だった。その際、アナウンサーが何度も繰り返していたのは、「約200名が行方不明！」だった。
 
その後の状況は世界中が知っている。11年経った今でもやはり、あの瞬間のことは忘れていない。しかし、その後の不便さは徐々に忘れつつある。勿論、直接被災したわけでもないからだが、それでもいくつもの教訓がある。
 
実は、先日、防災関連の講演を聞いたが、今後必ず起こるであろう首都圏周辺での大地震に対して、行政任せでなく、自助の観点で改めて準備し直さないとならないと思った。
 
しかし、いつ来るか分からないことは、どうしても後回しになってしまい、結局やらずじまいということが、よくある。しかし、それをすぐにでも実行できるか、それとも後回しにしてしまうかが、運命の分かれ道になるのかもしれない。
 
頭でわかっていてもやらなければ意味がないと思い、少なくとも防災グッズの見直しなどをしたい。
教訓を活かすことが出来るのは、人間の知恵なので、そうありたい。

However, it is often the case that not knowing when it will come will be postponed and will not be done in the end. However, whether it can be done immediately or put off may be a turning point in fate.

I don't think it makes sense if I don't do it even if I know it in my head, so at least I want to review disaster prevention goods.
It is human wisdom that can make use of the lessons learned, so I would like to do so.

久しぶりの回転寿司。と言っても、いつもは普通の寿司屋に行っているということでなく、寿司を食べに行くこと自体が久しぶりだということ。

横浜駅東口の地下街ポルタという好立地にあるため、満席だった。そのため、少し待ってから席に案内された。

最初にポスターで宣伝していたノドグロを頼んだ。流石に美味しい。しかも、冷静さを欠いてしまい、写真を撮り忘れた。

その代わり、LINEのお友達登録をすると、大トロまぐろを一貫無料でサービスをしてくれたので、その写真はバッチリ撮れた。

そのほかのネタも全て美味しく、また、スタッフも元気であり、とても満足して帰ってきた。

ウィズダム英和辞典の使い道 How to use the WISDOM English-Japanese dictionary

英会話を勉強するためには、まず英和辞典が必要だと思って購入したが、実はあまり使っていない。

それは、普段使っているiPadに同じ英和辞典が既にインストールされているからだ。

辞典を開いて、一枚一枚ページをめくり、単語を探し当てるのと、カーソルを置いてクリックするのと、時間のかかり方は違うのに結果は同じだ。

時間が有り余っているなら、単語を調べたついでに、その単語の他の意味や、例文をよく読むして覚えていける。

場合によっては、その周辺の単語も調べられる。だから、紙の辞典が不要だとは思わない。

しかし、コンピューターやwebの機能が便利になった今、リアルな辞典の使い方が変わっているのではないかと思う。

現に、子供の頃、実家にあった百科事典などを置いてある家は少なくなった。

立派な辞典を、下手なデッサンの題材にするには、勿体なさ過ぎるので、もう少し効果的な使い方を考えてみたい。

「鴨川ホルモー」万城目学 "Kamogawa Holmo" Manabu Makime

最近、私は笑える小説を探していた。そして、ようやく探し当てた。

キーワードを並べた方程式は、次のとおりだ。
「陰陽道×大学生×戦闘×恋愛×ファンタジー×馬鹿馬鹿しい×小気味良い展開=笑える面白さ」となる。

言い換えると、くだらなく、奇想天外で、時に切なく、そして、スカッとするとも言える。

そして、私の笑いのツボがなんと「レナウン娘」のCMのシーンだったことに本気で驚いた。

あまりにも自分が低俗で、くだらないことを面白いと感じていることにだ。

この作品は著者のデビュー作とのことなので、その他の作品も当然ながら読んでみたくなった。

朝焼けを犬と眺める弥生かな 24 In March I watch the sunrise with my dog

3月に入り、朝の散歩時刻はもう明るくなっている。日の出の時刻が毎日早まっているのを実感する。

もうしばらくすると、この朝焼けも見ることが出来なくなると思うと、感慨深いし、つくづく日本の四季が素晴らしいと思う。

再興第106回院展 横浜展 Revival 106th Institution Exhibition Yokohama Exhibition

横浜駅東口の百貨店、そごうの6階にある「そごう美術館」で開催されている院展に行ってみた。

3年前、「春の院展」を観た。その時は小さな作品もあったが、今回は、大きい作品ばかりで驚いた。

院展とは何か調べてみた。岡倉天心が1890(明治31)年に設立した日本美術院が主催する日本画の展示会とのことで、かなり権威があるようだ。

そんなことも知らずに84点の日本画を楽しんだ。

日本画は、絵の具が自然素材なことと伝統的な描き方があると思っていたが、その特徴を考えたことはなかった。

調べてみたら、日本画は、写実的でないこと、陰影がなかったり、色調が濃厚でないなどの特徴がある。

確かにその通りだが、今回の展示作品の中には、陰影が明確な作品もあったりして、洋画との違いは徐々になくなっているように感じた。

いずれにしても、日本画を身近に見ることが出来るのは、私たち日本人だけだと思い、その恩恵に預かれるなら、出来るだけ観に行きたいと思った。

I went to the institute exhibition held at the "Sogo Museum of Art" on the 6th floor of Sogo, a department store at the east exit of Yokohama Station.

Three years ago, I saw the "Spring House Exhibition". There were some small works at that time, but this time I was surprised to see only the big ones.

I tried to find out what the institute exhibition was. It is an exhibition of Japanese paintings sponsored by the Nihon Bijutsuin, which was established by Tenshin Okakura in 1890 (Meiji 31), and seems to be quite authoritative.

I enjoyed 84 Japanese paintings without knowing that.

I thought that Japanese painting was a natural material and had a traditional way of drawing, but I had never considered its characteristics.

When I looked it up, Japanese paintings were characterized by being unrealistic, having no shadows, and not having a rich color tone.

That's true, but some of the works on display this time have clear shadows, and I felt that the difference from Western films was gradually disappearing.

In any case, I thought that only we Japanese could see Japanese paintings close to us, and if we could take advantage of them, I wanted to go see them as much as possible.

啓蟄や枝も蕾も空に映え 23 Jingzhe, branches and buds shine in the sky

今年になって朝の散歩で初めて、ベンチコートを着なかった。徐々に温かくなっていることを感じる。

そして、今日は啓蟄。その散歩の際に、人家に咲く梅の花が綺麗だなと感じ、勝手に写真を撮った。

よく見ると、枝の先の方には蕾がある。これからどんどん温かくなり、この蕾も開いていくことだろう。

春の兆しを感じて、待ち遠しくなるのが、啓蟄の時期なのかもしれない。

For the first time in the morning walk this year, I didn't wear a bench coat. I feel that it is getting warmer gradually.

And today is Jingzhe. During the walk, I felt that the plum blossoms blooming in the private house were beautiful, so I took a picture without permission.

If you look closely, there are buds on the tip of the branch. From now on, it will get warmer and warmer, and these buds will open.

「指導者とは」"Leader"

このタイトルに私が惹かれた理由は、以前読んだ佐藤勝氏の「悪の処世術」という本で、リーダーについて考える機会があったからだ。

世界のリーダーでもある米国大統領を務めたリチャード・ニクソン氏が、「指導者」について、どのように考ているのか、私はとても興味を持った。

しかし、実は、私は、ニクソン氏については、「ウォーターゲート事件で辞めることになった大統領」ということくらいしか知らなかった。

ただ、少なくとも、小説家が書く伝記とは違い、実際に国家指導者として、厳しい外交交渉をした相手について書いてので、普通の伝記とは全く違うはずだと期待して読んだ。

本の構成は、ニクソン氏が接したことのある偉大な指導者7人についての人物像をエピソードも交えて公平な目で記載している。

具体的には、チャーチル、シャルル・ドゴール、マッカーサーと吉田茂、アデナウアー、フルシチョフ、そして、周恩来である。

その上で、最後に「指導者の資格について」とまとめとして記載している。

興味深かったのは、民主主義の西側諸国からすると、昔から、ソ連(ロシア)や中国が悩みの種だったこと。
今、起きていることと同じようなことが以前も起きていたのだ。
つまり、本当に歴史は繰り返していることがよく分かった。

そして、この本の肝と言えるのが、次の言葉だ。ネタバレになるが引用する。

「偉大な指導者とは、顧みて明らかなこと、顧みなければ明らかでないこと、だれより先に見通し、国家を動かす意志の力と権威を持つ人々のことを言う。」

「立派な指導者であるあるための最も大切な資質は、高度な知性、勇気、努力、粘り、判断力、大義に殉じる覚悟、一定の個人的魅力など」

「偉大な指導者にほぼ共通している事実は、彼らが偉大な読書家だったことである。」などだ。

この本を読んだ後に、政治家でもない自分にとって、やれることと言えば、「偉大な」は無理として「読書家」を目指すことくらいだ。

しかし、この本は、国家指導者であったニクソン氏が、未来の指導者に向けて書いた本である。

だから、今後、日本の総理大臣を目指す政治家には、是非とも読んでもらう必要がある本だと感じた。

The reason I was attracted to this title was that I had the opportunity to think about the leader in the book "Evil Treatment" by Masaru Sato, which I had read before.

I was very interested in how Richard Nixon, the world leader of the United States, thinks of "Leaders."

But, in fact, I only knew about Mr. Nixon as "the president who had to quit in Watergate."

However, at least, unlike the biography written by the novelist, I actually wrote about the person who had strict diplomatic negotiations as a national leader, so I expected that it should be completely different from the ordinary biography.

The composition of the book fairly describes the figures of the seven great leaders Nixon has come into contact with, including episodes.

Specifically, Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, MacArthur and Shigeru Yoshida, Adenauer, Khrushchev, and Zhou Enlai.

Then, at the end, it is described as a summary, "About the qualification of a leader".

What was interesting was that the Soviet Union (Russia) and China have long been a source of trouble for the Western countries of democracy.
The same thing that was happening now was happening before.
In other words, it is clear that history is really repeating.

And the heart of this book is the following words. It will be a spoiler, but I will quote it.

"Great leaders are those who have the power and authority to look ahead and move the nation, what is obvious with care, what is not clear without care."

"The most important qualities to be a good leader are high intellect, courage, effort, tenacity, judgment, determination to be a cause, certain personal appeal, etc."

"A fact that most great leaders have in common is that they were great readers."

After reading this book, the only thing I can do for myself, who is not a politician, is to aim for a "reader" because "great" is impossible.

However, this book was written by the national leader, Mr. Nixon, for future leaders.

Therefore, I felt that it was a book that politicians aiming to become the Prime Minister of Japan should definitely read.

赤飯でひとり祝いの雛祭り 22 Hinamatsuri for celebrating alone with red rice

女の子がいる家庭なら、飾られた雛人形に見守られながら、家族でちらし寿司や白酒などを囲むのだろう。

しかし、残念ながら、我が家には縁がない。そして、木曜日はお酒を抜く日と決めている。

さらに、たまたま、一人だけの夕飯だったので、赤飯弁当だけの寂しい雛祭りとなった。

大吟醸 北秋田

『大吟醸売上本数NO1。ワイングラスでおいしい日本酒アワード2021金賞受賞』

この宣伝文句につられて購入したが、実際にはワイングラスを使わずに、いつものグラスで飲んでみた。

確かに大吟醸だけあり、とても飲みやすくい。価格を考えればとてもリーズナブルなので、売上本数がNO.1なのも納得出来る。

秋田には今年の春あたりに旅に行こうと考えているので、是非このお酒を作っている「北鹿」という醸造元のお酒を飲み比べてみようと私は今から企んでいる。

Daiginjo Kitaakita

"The number of Daiginjo sales is NO1. Winner of the 2021 Gold Award for Delicious Sake in a Wine Glass ”

I bought it because of this slogan, but I actually drank it in my usual glass instead of using a wine glass.

Certainly there is only Daiginjo and it is very easy to drink. Considering the price, it is very reasonable, so I can understand that the number of units sold is No.1.

I'm thinking of going on a trip to Akita around the spring of this year, so I'm planning to compare the sake of the brewer called "Hokushika" who makes this sake.
