「七つの会議」池井戸潤 "The Seven Conferences" Jun Ikeido [Impression]
企業犯罪の長編だが、それぞれの会議をテーマにした7つの短編から構成されている。つまり短編が章立てになっている。池井戸作品らしく企業内の人間模様が細かく描かれており、それが物語の説得力を増し、さらにより深みのある内容になっている。
その方法として活用されているのが、最初に説明したそれぞれの短編。登場人物の立場、育った環境、家族や友人関係などを「会議」をテーマにしつつ丁寧に描いている。
最後の短編は、言ってみれば、とりまとめの章となるが、意外な展開もあり、最後まで一気に読み進めた。
池井戸作品は、重たいテーマが多いが、読者の立場では、間違いなく面白い作品のはずだと、安心して軽い気持ちで読めるのが良い。

The last short story is, so to speak, a summary chapter, but there were some unexpected developments, and I read it all at once until the end.
Ikeido's works have many heavy themes, but from the reader's point of view, it is good to read with peace of mind that it should definitely be an interesting work.
