諏訪大社は他と違うSuwa Taisha is different from others

全国に約25000ある諏訪神社の総本社。信濃国一之宮である。

初めて訪れたが、他の神社と違う点が3つほどある。

一つは諏訪湖を囲んで上社、下社 など4つのお宮があること。

次に、本殿がないこと。木を御神木としたり、山自体を御神体としている。

そして、大木を神社の四隅に立てていることだ。
この大木を御柱と言い、山から切り出して建てる祭りが、あの有名な御柱祭だ。

これだけ有名な祭りがあり、他の神社との違いがあると、氏子の皆さんも誇らしいだろうなぁ〜と思いながら参拝してきた。

I visited for the first time, but there are three differences from other shrines.

One is that there are four shrines, such as the upper shrine and the lower shrine, surrounding Lake Suwa.

Second, there is no main shrine. The tree is a sacred tree, and the mountain itself is a sacred body.

And the big trees are standing at the four corners of the shrine.
This big tree is called Onbashira, and the festival that is cut out from the mountain and built is the famous Onbashira festival.

I have been worshiping while thinking that if there is such a famous festival and there is a difference from other shrines, the parishioners will be proud of it.
