最終日である今日閉会する展覧会に新橋まで行ってきた。時間予約だけだが、館内はかなり混雑。もともと広い会場ではないので仕方ない。
実は、私自身、これほどまでに人気のある展覧会だと理解していなかった。
パリでは、とても有名だったそうだが、絵を見るにつれパリの社交界とピッタリ会った作風なんだろうと感じた。
また、人物画がメインの画家だと理解していたが、風景画などにも挑戦されており、とても興味深かった。
それでもやはり秀逸なのは、女性達のポートレート。なんとも力強い。
入館料は「東京ぐるっとパス」という所謂周遊券で無料になったが、結局、ちょっと高めの図録を購入してしまった。

I also understood that he mainly painted portraits, but it was very interesting to see his attempts at landscapes and other subjects.
Still, what was outstanding were the portraits of women. They are very powerful.
Admission to the museum was free with the so-called "Tokyo Round Pass," but I ended up buying a rather expensive catalogue.
