「シンメトリー」誉田哲也 "Symmetry" by Tetsuya HONDA

自分の中で勝手に名付けた「読んだことのない人気作家の本を読もうシリーズ」の第２弾。

有名な姫川玲子シリーズでもあるこの作品は誉田氏の初の短編集で全７作で構成されている。

解説を読んで知ったが、この短編の題名もその並び方も実は「シンメトリー」になっているので、参考までに次に記す。

読後の感想としては、短編なので、割と気楽に読めたという感じ。
多分、刑事もののミステリーで、難しい論理展開も比喩的な表現も少なく、あまり引っかかることが少なかったからだと思う。

主人公の姫川玲子は、勘がいいということが前提となっていて、緻密な捜査の積上げからなる犯人特定という感じではない。

どちらかと言えば、女性ならではのヒューマニズムを前提にしている。「気持ちは分かる」というところから、解決策を探しているのが全体を通して、この短編集の特徴のような気がした。

素人が少し生意気な表現をさせてもらえるなら、「感性のミステリー」と言えるかもしれない。

This is the second in the "Let's read books by popular authors I have never read before" series, which I have named on my own.

This work, which is also the famous Reiko Himekawa series, is the first collection of short stories by Tetsuya HONDA and consists of seven works.

After reading this book, I feel that I was able to read it rather comfortably because it is a short story.
Probably because it was a detective mystery, with few difficult logical developments or figurative expressions, and there was not much to get caught up in.

The main character, Reiko Himekawa, is supposed to have good intuition, and it does not feel like she identifies the culprit based on the accumulation of detailed investigations.

If anything, the story is based on the humanism that only a woman can have. I felt that the characteristic of this collection of short stories is that the author searches for a solution from the point of "I know how you feel.

If I may be allowed to express myself a little cheekily as an amateur, I might call it a "mystery of sensibility".

「パキスタン洪水、国土の３分の１水没」って大変なことでは？ Isn't "Pakistan floods submerge one-third of the country" a big deal?

 

パキスタンの国土の３分の１が水没したというニュースを見た。確かに写真や動画は洪水現場を写している。また、影響は約3300万人にも及んでいるという。
本当に国土の1/3も水没したら、これは大変な被害だ。

実際、パキスタンは、どのくらい広いのか、その国土面積を調べてみたところ、約88万平方キロメートル。1/3だと約29万平方キロメートルという計算になる。

この面積を日本に当てはめると、国土の８割となる。
 
パキスタンには行ったこともないが、山岳地帯も多いと思っていたので、ちょっと想像がつかない。
そして、6月くらいから雨が降り続いていたそうだが、そんな状況だとは全く知らなかった。
 
一方で、ヨーロッパ、アメリカ、中国などでは大河が干上がっている。ライン川、ドナウ川、コロラド川、長江などの大河川だ。

さらにアフリカ大陸では砂漠化が進行している地域もある。
 
すべて気候変動の影響。
ウクライナ情勢のことも、勿論他人事ではないし、日本ではコロナウイルスの感染者数も減らない。

しかし、やはり世界全体の喫緊の課題は、気候変動への対応だと思う。
勿論、そんなことは私が言わなくてもわかっている人が世界中に沢山いるし、立派な人が問題意識を持って取り組んでいるのだろう。
でも、この問題については、世界を導けるリーダーがいない。
 
グローバル化した今の世界では、地球の大統領が必要だと思うが、それは無理かな？
 
I saw a news report that one-third of Pakistan's land area has been submerged under water. Indeed, photos and videos show the flood site. Also, it is said that about 33 million people have been affected.
If indeed 1/3 of the country's land is submerged, this is a very serious damage.

In fact, when I looked up the size of Pakistan, I found that the total land area is about 880,000 square kilometers. 1/3 of the country would be about 290,000 square kilometers.

If this area were applied to Japan, it would be 80% of the country's total land area.

I have never been to Pakistan, but I thought there were many mountainous areas there, so it is a little hard to imagine.
And I heard that it had been raining since about June, but I had no idea that such a situation existed.

On the other hand, large rivers are drying up in Europe, the U.S., and China. They are the Rhine, the Danube, the Colorado, the Yangtze, and other great rivers.

Furthermore, some areas on the African continent are undergoing desertification.
 

K-POPにハマってる？ Am I into K-POP?

以前は全く意識もしなかったK-POP。むしろ、何故わざわざ韓国企業の儲けになるのに、日本人は夢中になるのだろうと考えていたくらいだ。

しかし、ジムで行うダンスエクササイズのZUMBAの時に「ノリノリでいい曲だなぁ?」と思って調べたら、BTSの曲だったりした。

そして、最近も何度も踊って気に入った曲があったので、調べてみるとTWICEやMOMOLANDの曲だった。

こうなると、自分としては、もうK-POPの凄さを認めざるを得ない。

そこで、ここ最近、彼女らの曲をよくYouTubeで見て聴いていた。

そこで家人から言われた言葉。
「いい歳して、アイドルの追っかけなんかにならないでよ！」

まさか、そんな風に見られていたのか？
「まさか?。いい曲だから聴いているだけだよ?」と返したが、もしかしたら、可愛らしい彼女らを見て鼻の下を伸ばしていたのだろうか。

いいや、そんなはずはない。
あくまで曲が気に入っているだけ！・・・のはずだ?

K-POP恐るべし?

I used to be completely unaware of K-pop, in fact, I used to wonder why Japanese people would go out of their way to get hooked on it when it makes so much money for Korean companies.

However, during ZUMBA, a dance exercise at the gym, I thought, "This is a nice, groovy song," and looked it up, only to find that it was by BTS.

And recently, there was a song that I danced to many times and liked, so I looked it up and found it was a song by TWICE and MOMOLAND.

When it comes to this, for me, I have to admit that K-POP is already amazing.

So, I have been watching and listening to their songs on YouTube a lot recently.

Then, my wife said to me.
"Don't be an idol chaser when you're old enough!"

Did she really think I was looking at her that way?
No way. I'm just listening to them because they're good songs," I replied, but I maybe was watching to be spooney on cute girls.

No, that can't be it.
I just like the song! I'm sure they did.

K-POP is a scary ministry!

菓匠花見「白露宝」 Confectioner Hanami "Hakuroho

鷺の卵を模した銘菓、武蔵野「白露宝(はくろほう)」。埼玉ではとても有名らしいが、これまで全くそのことを知らず、今回私は初めて頂いた。

見てのとおり、まわりはホワイトチョコレートでコーティングされているが、中身は白餡などが入っている。そうした意味でとても繊細な作りである。

実際に食べてみると、品のある甘さと白餡の食感が調和していてとても良い。なるほど人気がある理由が良く理解出来た。

こうした銘菓は作り出すのもとても苦労するだろうし、さらにそれをずっと維持することも大変なことだろう。

人口減少で市場規模が縮小して行く日本において、「ブランド」は今後ますます大事になると感じた。

Musashino "Hakuroho" is a famous confectionery in the shape of a heron's egg. It is said to be very famous in Saitama, but I had never heard of it before and this was my first time to taste it.

As you can see, the outer layer is coated with white chocolate, but the inside is filled with white bean paste and other ingredients. In this sense, it is very delicately made.

When I tried it, I found that the elegant sweetness and the texture of the white bean paste were in perfect harmony. I could understand why they are so popular.

It must be very difficult to create such a famous confectionery, and it must also be very difficult to maintain it for a long time.

In Japan, where the market is shrinking due to population decline, I felt that "brands" will become more and more important in the future.

「朝が来る」辻村深月 Asa ga kuru" (The Morning Comes) by Mizuki Tsujimura

自分はこれまで気に入った作家の本ばかり選んで読んでいた。
でも、それでは勿体ないと考え、読んだことのない作家の本にチャレンジすることにした。

その最初は直木賞も受賞している辻村深月氏の作品で映画化もされている。

内容は、不妊治療や特別養子縁組に関すること。自分には全く縁もなく、当然ながら知識もなかった。
また、それにまつわる未成年の妊娠や出産も身近に経験や関係した人もいない。

そうした知らないことだらけの中での物語展開はとても新鮮であった。

そして、この物語の構成にも特徴があった。
登場人物の背景を含めた紹介が第一章と第三章、第二章には起こった事柄、最終の第四章で結果という流れである。

エンディングは悪い流れになるのかもしれないと覚悟して読み進んだが、少なくとも最悪の結果ではなかった。

各場面の描写も詳細でイメージしやすいため、情景を頭に浮かべながら一気に読み進むことができた。

I used to read only books by authors I liked.
However, I thought that would be a waste of time, so I decided to try books by authors I had never read before.

The first book was by Naoki Award-winning author Mizuki Tsujimura, whose work has also been made into a movie.

The content of the book is about infertility treatment and special adoption. I had no connection to it and naturally had no knowledge of it.

I also had no experience with or knowledge of underage pregnancies or births related to these issues.

It was refreshing to see the story unfold in the midst of all these unknowns.

The structure of the story was also unique.
The introduction of the characters, including their backgrounds, is given in Chapters 1 and 3, the events in Chapter 2, and the results in the final Chapter 4.

I was prepared for the ending to be a bad one, but at least it was not the worst.

The detailed descriptions of each scene were easy to visualize, so I was able to read the book in one sitting with the scenes in my mind.

鮮やかに咲いて生き延び野鶏頭 71 Celosia that bloomed brightly and survived

朝の散歩で見つけたノゲイトウ。花屋さんでは、別名のセロシアとして売られているらしい。

今回は、人家のフェンスの基礎ブロックと道路との間の隙間から生えていたので、野鶏頭の方が相応しいだろう。

この家の人は、この雑草が野鶏頭として、こんなに綺麗な花をつけることを知って、放置していたのだろうか？

それとも、道路側に生えていたために、抜くことをしなかったのだろうか？

いずれにしても、ここまで綺麗に咲くと、枯れるまでは抜かれないだろう。

「綺麗」というのは、生き物共通で得をしているかもしれない。

I found this nogeitou on my morning walk. It is apparently sold in flower shops as celosia, another name for it.

This time, it was growing in the gap between the foundation block of a fence and the road, so celosia would be more appropriate.

I wonder if the owner of this house knew that this weed, as a celosia, had such beautiful flowers and left it alone.

Or did they not pull it out because it was growing on the side of the road?

In any case, when they bloom so beautifully, they will not be pulled out until they die.

TWICEのごとく演舞はねこじゃらし 70 Cat foxtail dances like TWICE

最近、道端でよく目にするのが、狗尾草（エノコログサ）、別名ねこじゃらし。
子供の頃はよく抜いて振り回したり、友達をくすぐったりしたものだ。

よくよく観察してみると、意外とそれぞれ違う形をしている。そして風に揺れる時の動きも各々違う。
それでも全体的に調和がとれていることに気が付いた。

最近、ジムのスタジオで踊るズンバの時に聴く、ＴＷＩＣＥの踊りのようだ。
自分の中で、そう関連付けをしたら、ねこじゃらしを見るたびにＴＷＩＣＥのデビュー曲「Like OOH-AHH」が鳴り響くようになってしまった。

それはそれでちょっと、落ち着かない。　でも楽しい。

　

Recently, I often see foxtail grass, also known as cat foxtail, on the roadside.
When I was a kid, I used to pull it out and swing it around and tickle my friends.

When I take a closer look, I whoud find that they were surprisingly different. and when it sways in the wind,Each movement is different.
However, I noticed that the overall balance was good.

It's like TWICE's dance that I listen to when I danced Zumba in the gym studio these days.

If I make that association in myself, every time I see cat foxtail, I will see TWICE's debut song "Like OOH-AHH" has started to ring out.

「すっぽん心中」戌井昭人 " Soft-shelled turtle Suicide" Akito Inui

以前、著者のゼンマイという作品を読んで私はとても気に入ったので、読んでみた本。
タイトルの「すっぽん心中」の他、「植木鉢」「鳩居野郎」という2つの短編も収録されている。

どの短編小説も小気味のいい物語展開で、読んでいて飽きない。

私が感心するのは、著者が、人間のダメな部分、いわゆる負の側面をクローズアップするのがとても上手い点だ。

そして、その中で笑いと哀愁を出し、最後はどの作品も、当たり前の人間の良い部分に光を当て、安心させて終わる。

そのテクニックは、著者が芝居の脚本家であることに関係しているのだろうか？

限られた時間や紙面の中で、いろんな感情を引き出して楽しませる劇場型の小説はやはり中毒性がある。

I read the author's work, Zenmai, and I really liked it, so I read it.

彩りに思わず腰折る処暑の朝 69 On a midsummer morning, I bent over looking at the colorful flowers.

異常な暑さや線状降水帯による大雨は、日本各地で様々な災害や事件をもたらしている。

そして、それは日本だけでなく世界中の問題でもある。

そんなことを考えながら、いつもとちょっとだけ違うルートを散歩をしてみた。

すると、公園の脇に花壇があった。
思わず、シャッターを切ると、心なしか涼しげな風を感じた。

確かに暑いなかでも、少しだけ真夏から秋に向かいつつあることを実感した。

気候変動は心配だが、その中でも、確実に四季がある日本はとても贅沢な環境なのかもしれない。

「トヨタの会議は30分」山本大平 "Toyota meetings are 30 minutes" Daihei Yamamoto

とても目を惹くタイトルである。
誰しも日本一の企業がどれほど合理的な仕事の仕方をしているのかを、知りたいという心理を掴んでいる。

という意味で、私にとっては、タイトルだけでも合格ライン。

著者は新卒でトヨタ自動車に採用され、その後、TBSテレビやアクセンチュアというコンサルティング会社を経て、自分の会社を立ち上げた人。

会議のやり方だけでなく、とことん突き詰めて物事を考えさせられるなど、若い頃に経験したトヨタイズムを幾つも紹介してくれている。

著者は、この本の主な読者層を、「何かと悩み多き社会人生活5年以内の方々」とイメージしているとのこと。

しかし、会議のやり方をコントロール出来ない若手にはもしかしたらストレスが溜まる内容なのかもしれないと私は感じた。

むしろ、実務を中心的に担う中堅クラスや、組織風土を変えたいと思っている経営者、幹部クラスにとても参考になるように思えた。

トヨタ自動車のような風土を作ることは一朝一夕には出来ないだろうが、「GAFAMやBATHにも負けない最速・骨太のビジネスコミュニケーション術」というサブタイトルのとおり、自己啓発本と考えれば、実践出来ることは沢山ありそうだ。

Everyone has a grasp of the psychology of wanting to know how rationally Japan's best companies are working.

In that sense, for me, the title alone is a passing line.

The author was hired by Toyota Motor Corporation as a new graduate, and after that, he worked at TBS Television and at a consulting company called Accenture before starting his own company.

He introduces many of the Toyota-isms he experienced when he was young, not only about how to hold meetings, but also how he makes you think things through.

The author imagines that the main readership of this book is "those who have been in the working life for less than 5 years and have a lot of worries".

However, I felt that the content might be stressful for young people who cannot control the way the meeting is held.

Rather, it seemed to me that it would be very helpful for mid-career classes who are mainly responsible for practical work, and managers and executives who want to change the organizational culture.

It may not be possible to create a culture like that of Toyota Motor Corporation overnight, but as the subtitle suggests, "Fastest and robust business communication techniques that can compete with GAFAM and BATH", if you think of it as a self-development book, you can put it into practice. There seems to be a lot of.

揺れキウイカメラ構えてまわり見る 68 I pointed my camera at the swaying kiwi and looked around.

少し前、朝の散歩の時に人家の垣根で風に揺れているキウイを発見！

私は、折角なので、新しく買ったカメラをキウイに向けた。そこで、急に頭に浮かんだのは、「李下に冠を正さず」という諺。

やばい、キウイの実を取っていると思われてないだろうかと、心配になった。

でも、誓って言っておくが、撮ったのは写真だけ。

因みに、キウイは学術的には、またたびの一種らしい。つまり、猫にとっての麻薬。でも、この実には効用がなく、枝や根っこにまたたびと同じ効果があるらしい。

実の方に寄って行くのは、人間と鳥だけかもしれない。

A little while ago, when I was taking a morning walk, I found a kiwi swaying in the wind at the fence of a house!

I took the chance to point my newly bought camera at the kiwi. Then, what suddenly came to my mind was the proverb, "Don't straighten the crown under Lee."

I was worried that people might think I was picking kiwi fruit.

But I swear I only took pictures.

By the way, kiwi is scientifically a kind of matatabi. A drug for cats. However, this fruit has no effect, and it seems that the branches and roots have the same effect again and again.

Humans and birds may be the only ones that approach the fruit.

みなとみらい恐竜ワールド Minatomirai Dinosaur World

横浜ランドマークタワーとマークイズみなとみらいで夏休みの企画として開催中の恐竜ワールドに行ってみた。

 

実際には、夏休みは関係ない3歳児を連れて行った。

 

本人は「恐竜が好き」と言っていたが、いざ、動いて吠える恐竜を目にすると、後ずさりして近づけない。

 

なんと、「食べられちゃう〜」とのこと。よくよく聞いてみると、好きなのは「恐竜のぬいぐるみ」だった。

 

仕方なく、トイザらスにぬいぐるみを買いに行く。しかし、結局買わされたのは、恐竜のシールがついたトラックだった。

 

仕方ない。

 

振り回されても、疲れても、許す。

モンベル日傘、少し自慢？ Montbell sunblock umbrella, I'm a little proud?

昨夜、ニュースを聞いて驚いた。モンベルの日傘、サンブロックアンブレラが人気で商品が品切れ状態で、新たな入荷は12月頃になるという。

 

「へっ〜、そうなんだ。自分はもう3〜4年も前から使っているけど、やっと皆さん、モンベルの日傘の良さが分かったんだ〜」と、心の中で叫んでしまった。

 

かく言う私も、以前は普通のトレッキング用の傘を夏の日傘として使っていた。しかし、ちょっと壊れてしまい、直してもらいながら、新しい傘を晴雨兼用として購入したのだ。

 

モンベルの素晴らしいところを少し宣伝すると、これまで一回ずつ傘の部分が壊れたが、いずれも100〜200円くらいの修理費で直してもらえた。

 

企業の理念として、長く使ってもらうためだということを店頭のスタッフから聞かされた時は、よりモンベルフリークになってしまった。

 

未だに傘だけでなく、通勤カバンから普段使いの種々のバックなどを利用している自分にとっては、品切れになった日傘のニュースを聞いた時、ちょっとだけ鼻が高くなってしまった。

 

やっぱり、大した人間ではないんだなぁと思うけど。

 

I was surprised to hear the news last night.  Montbell's parasol, sunblock umbrellas are so popular that they are currently out of stock, and new arrivals are expected around December.

 

 "Heh, that's right. I've been using Montbell's one for three or four years ago, but at last everyone knows how good Montbell's one are!"

 

I used to use an ordinary trekking umbrella as a summer parasol.  However, it was a little broken, and while I was having it repaired, I bought a new umbrella for both sun and rain.

 

When I advertised Montbell's wonderful points, the umbrella part broke once so far, but each time it was repaired for about 100 to 200 yen.

 

When I heard from the staff at the store that the company's philosophy was to have the product used for a long time, I became more of a Montbell freak.

 

For me, who still uses not only umbrellas but also various everyday bags from my commuting bag, when I heard the news about parasols that were out of stock,  I'm a little proud.

 

After all, I don't think I'm a tolerant person.

伊勢詣り祝詞ききつつ白雨かな 67 At the time of the Ise chant, while listening to the congratulatory words, I heard the sunset falling.

夕立のことを別名で白雨というらしい。それは勢いが強くて雨が跳ね上がり、地面のあたりが白くなるからだそうだ。
 
昨日は、仕事の関係で横浜にある伊勢山皇大神宮にお詣りした。

天気予報では夕立があるとのことで、写真を撮った時も空は暗くなりつつあった。

そして、安全祈願をしてもらっている最中に、やはり夕立が降ってきた。
 
実は、私は白雨という言い方を知らず、本日季語を調べる中で、初めて知った。

このことを知っていれば、その状態の写真を撮っていたのにと、悔やまれる。まあ仕方がないか。

「理由がわかればもっと面白い！西洋絵画の教科書」田中久美子 "It's more interesting if you understand the reason! Textbook of Western painting" Kumiko Tanaka

この本を読んだすぐ後に、後悔の念に駆られた。勿論、この本を読んだからではない。

以前、訪れたヨーロッパの各美術館へ行く前に、この本を読んでおきたかった、という後悔である。

この本は、西洋の絵画の見方を図やイラストなどを駆使して分かりやすく、しかも多角的に解説している。

具体的には、名画を見たい人と知識から入りたい人向けに、それぞれ3ステップを紹介してくれている。

また、分かりにくいギリシャ・ローマ時代の神話や聖書の世界観などにも言及している。

さらには、人気のある印象派については、マネ、モネ、ルノアールなどの画家についても、人物と代表作などを紹介している。

実は、ルーブル美術館、オルセー美術館、プラド美術館、ウフィツィ美術館、さらにはロンドンのナショナルギャラリーなどを訪れたことがあるが、この本に書かれた知識があれば、実物を見た時の感動はもっと大きかっただろうと思う。

また、有名な名画だけでなく、記憶に残る作品ももっとたくさんあったはずだ。

そうした意味で、この本は西洋絵画に興味を持ち始めた人には手放しでお勧めできる。

名画を見たいなら、後悔をしないように、是非この本を読んでみたらいかがだろうか？

Immediately after reading this book, I was overcome with regret. Not because I read this book, of course.

My regret is that I wanted to read this book before going to each of the museums in Europe that I visited before.

This book uses diagrams and illustrations to explain the Western way of looking at painting in an easy-to-understand and multifaceted manner.

Specifically, it introduces three steps for those who want to see masterpieces and those who want to enter from knowledge.

It also touches on obscure Greco-Roman mythology and biblical worldviews.

In addition, about the popular Impressionist painters such as Manet, Monet, Renoir, etc., the people and representative works are introduced.

In fact, I have visited the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum, the Prado Museum, the Uffizi Gallery, and even the National Gallery in London.
I think that the impression of the person would have been greater.

その重い気持ちの中で見た鮮やかなピンクの花はダリア。

華麗、気品、優雅、感謝などの花言葉がある一方で、裏切り、移り気、不安定などの意味も持つ。

さて、自分にとっては、どっちの意味にとったら良いのだろう？

少なくとも、この花を見て癒されたのだ、良い方に解釈して、仕事に向かいたい。

そんなことを考えながら歩くと重い足取りも少しは軽くなった。

最近、ブログを見ていると、プロでなくとも、とても素敵な写真を撮って掲載されているなぁと常々感じていた。

さらに、立て続けにプロの写真の展示会に行って、写真の奥深さも感じていた。

これまで、ブログや旅行サイトへの投稿には写真の出来なぞ気にせずに送っていたが、やはり、スマホのカメラでは物足りなくなっていた。

そんな中で、あまり重たくなくて、手軽に格好いい写真を撮りたいと思って、決めたのが、SONYのZV-E10というミラーレスカメラである。

実はこのカメラは、静止画用よりも動画撮影用として作られているそうだが、値段と重さなどを考慮してこれにした。

まだ、Wi-Fi接続などがうまく行かないが、少しずつ使い方に慣れて、いい写真を撮ってみたい。

そして、ゆくゆくは、動画でのブログにも挑戦したいのと野望を持っているが、兎に角一歩一歩マスターしていこう。

「彼女の家計簿」原田ひ香 "Her Account Book" Hika Harada

これまで一度も読んだことのない作家さんなので、どんな作風なのかを知りたくて読んでみた。

タイトルの「彼女」というのは、主人公にあたるシングルマザーの祖母という設定。

第二次世界大戦当時のとても厳しい社会環境の中で結婚、出産、そして先生とした働いた人が家計簿をつけていたことをキーワードに物語は展開する。

なので、現代と過去が同時進行するのだが、少しずつ解明する事実に、どんどんとのめり込んでしまった。

登場人物はほぼ女性であり、出てくる男性はほぼろくでなしという設定は、現実を表しているのだろうか？

そんな厳しい現実の中でも、様々な事情を抱えて懸命に生きようとする女性を応援しようとするために、この本は書かれたように感じた。

著者の他の作品も読んでみたいと思っている。

雑草にスター誕生白百合や 65 A star was born in the weeds. It's a white lily.

庭の草むしりをしていたら、白百合が自然に咲いていた。それも2本も。

これまで、こんなことはなかったので、「百合が雑草のように自生するのか」と少し私は驚いた。

調べてみるとテッポウユリであった。緑の雑草の中で、より高い位置で、しかも可憐に揺れる姿は自ら這い上がってきた新しいスターのようだ。

私は何故か、人が育てた花ではなく、雑草のように自然に生えている花に惹かれてしまう。

そこで、早速、デッサンの題材として描いてみた。しかし、まだまだスターの魅力を表現しきれていない。

もっと下積みが必要だと白百合に言われているような気がする。

「メメント・モリと写真」東京都写真美術館 "Memento Mori and Photography" Tokyo Photographic Art Museum

メメント・モリとは、ラテン語で「死を想え」という意味。
そのため、副題は「死は何を照らし出すのか」。

中世で流行したペスト菌は致死率が約半数であったらしい。つまり、罹患すると2人に1人は亡くなったという。

さらに、戦争や飢餓など、死と直面することが多かったため、誰もが死すべき運命だという自覚することで、逆に生きることへの積極的な意味を見出そうとしたとのこと。

そして、今現在も、COVID19パンデミック、ロシアによるウクライナ侵攻。地球温暖化による気候変動。そのためによる各種の災害や食糧危機などもある。

そんなタイミングを考えた写真展は時宜を得ていると言えると感じた。

展示されている写真も、ロバート・キャパや澤田教一の戦場の写真から飢餓などに関係する作品が多かった。

また、孤独とユーモアというテーマの写真の中には、荒木経惟作品や古き良きアメリカの日常風景などの作品もあった。

そして、個人的には最もインパクトを受けたのは、藤原新也のガンジス川のほとりの一連の作品だった。

まさに、彼の「メメント・モリ」という作品シリーズからの抜粋である。

この展示会では写真撮影が禁止されていたので、残念ながらご紹介出来ないが、なかなか考えさせられる素晴らしい企画であった。

Among the photographs on the theme of loneliness and humor, there were works by Nobuyoshi Araki and scenes of everyday life in the good old days of America.

The most impactful work for me personally was Shinya Fujiwara's series of works on the banks of the Ganges River.

It is just an excerpt from his series of works called "Memento Mori".

Photography was prohibited at this exhibition, so unfortunately I can't introduce it, but it was a wonderful project that made me think.

「アヴァンガルド勃興」東京都写真美術館 "The Rise of Avantgarde" Tokyo Photographic Art Museum

副題となっている「近代日本の前衛写真」は、海外のシュルリアリスムや抽象美術の影響を受けて、1930年代から40年代にかけて全国のアマチュアのグループを中心に起こった潮流とのこと。

今回は、これまであまり検証がされていなかったということで、影響を受けたとされる海外作家の写真をはじめ、大阪、名古屋、福岡、そして東京と各地の作品を掲示している。

それらに共通しているのが、写真を使って絵画では出来ない表現に挑戦していることだった。

つまり、普通の写真ではない芸術作品であるため、どんな意図や思いが含まれているのか、あるいは何を伝えようとしているのかを理解するのが苦労した。

そして、私自身は前衛写真よりもわかりやすい写真の方が好きだとも気がついた。

そんな中で、今回の展示会で特に気になった作品、つまり「家に飾りたいなぁ」と思った写真を紹介する。

なお、他の美術館や個人の所蔵作品は撮影不可だったので、東京都写真美術館収蔵作品のみであるので、悪しからず。

This time, since there has not been much research done so far, we are posting photographs of overseas artists who are said to have been influenced, as well as works from Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.

What they all have in common is that they use photographs to challenge expressions that cannot be achieved with paintings.

In other words, it was a work of art, not an ordinary photograph, so I had a hard time understanding what intentions and feelings it contained, or what it was trying to convey.

I also realized that I myself prefer easy-to-understand photographs to avant-garde photographs.

Under such circumstances, I will introduce the works that I was particularly interested in at this exhibition, that is, the photos that made me want to decorate my house.

In addition, since it was not possible to take pictures of other museums and private collections, it is not bad because it is only the collection of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.

「悩むなら、旅に出よ。旅だから出逢えた言葉Ⅱ」伊集院静 "If you're worried, go on a trip. Words I met because I'm traveling II" Shizuka Ijuin

これはダイナースクラブの会報誌に掲載していた著者のエッセイを加筆修正して綴ったシリーズ第2作目の本。

伊集院静氏のエッセイをこよなく愛する私としては、読まないわけにはいかなかった。

全体で4章、合計35のエッセイは副題のとおり、まさに「旅だから出逢えた言葉」ばかり。

元々の読者はダイナースクラブカードを持っている人達ということで、かなりの富裕層だろうが、この本を読んでいる限りでは、30〜40歳代の人にも十分に伝わる内容だと感じた。

特に、私に響いた言葉を紹介すると、「難しいことを易しく　易しいことを深く　深いことを面白く」と「そこに行かなければ見えないものがあるのでしょうね」の2つだった。

ネタバレになるので、解説は避けるが、「なるほど深いなぁ〜」と感じた。

いつも著者の本を読んだ後に感じるのは、「何故、伊集院静氏の文章には説得力があるのか？」ということ。

それは、圧倒的に酒を飲み、失敗もし、ギャンブルもし、そして評価もされ、一方では悲しむ経験もし、そして旅をしているからだと思う。

経験が大事なことを実践している人なんだろうと思う。

勿論だが、次作も読んでみようと思っている。

As I love Shizuka Ijuin's essays, I couldn't help but read them.

There are 4 chapters in total, with a total of 35 essays, just like the subtitle, "words that I met because I was traveling".

The original readers were people with Diners Club cards, so they must be quite wealthy, but as far as I was reading this book, I felt that the content was sufficiently conveyed to people in their 30s and 40s. .

In particular, when I introduced the words that resonated with me, there were two: "Make difficult things easy, make easy things deep, make deep things interesting" and "There must be something you can't see unless you go there."

I will avoid commentary because it will be a spoiler, but I felt, "I see, it's deep."

What I always feel after reading the author's book is, "Why is Mr. Shizuka Ijuin's writing persuasive?"

I think it's because he drunk so much, made mistakes, gamble, be evaluated, experience sadness, and travel.

I think it's a person who practices what experience is important.

Of course, I would like to read the next book.

「箱根登山鉄道の凄さ」に感服！ Impressed by the "magnificence of the Hakone Tozan Railway"!

先日、箱根のポーラ美術館に行った際、利用したのが箱根登山鉄道。

実は、もともとロマンスカーで箱根湯本駅まで行き、そこからは直通バスで美術館に行く予定にしていた。
また、帰りも路線バスで箱根湯本駅まで戻るつもりだったので、同鉄道には全く乗る予定ではなかった。
 
しかし、ちょっとだけ出かける時間帯を変更したため、結局、箱根湯本から強羅までの往復とも同鉄道に乗ることになった。

よくよく考えてみれば、令和元年（2019年）の台風19号で土砂崩れが発生し、不通になって以来初めての乗車だった。
 
私はこれまで、箱根登山鉄道を移動手段としか考えていなかった。
しかし、9ヶ月という短期間で全線復旧させたことを思い出し、今回は改めて乗車して車内アナウンスなどにも注目してみた。
 
そこでわかったことは、大正8年(1919年)開通の日本で唯一の山岳鉄道で、勾配も80‰（パーミル）ときついため、粘着式という方法を採用していること。

さらに最小回転半径も30ｍであるため、線路に散水しながら走ることなどだ。

さらに、「出山の鉄橋」として有名な早川橋梁は、天竜川から転用したものだそうで、国の登録有形文化財にも指定されているトラス式の橋であること。
 
箱根湯本駅には、土木学会の推奨土木遺産であること、近代化産業遺産であることのほかに、平成天皇・皇后両陛下も御乗車されたことを証明した記念プレートが飾られていた。
 
つまり、箱根登山鉄道は、単なる移動手段にとどまらず、我々の大事な遺産であること。しかも、立派な観光資源であることを認識させられた機会となった。

たまには旅の予定を変えてみるのもいいなぁと感じた乗車となった。

However, I changed the timing of my trip a little, so I ended up taking this train from Hakone-Yumoto to Gora.

If I think about it carefully, it was the first ride since Typhoon No. 19 in 2019 caused a landslide and stopped the service.
 
Until now, I had only thought of the Hakone Tozan Railway as a means of transportation.

However, remembering that the entire line was restored in a short period of nine months, I boarded the train again this time and paid attention to the announcements inside the train.
 
What I learned there was that it was the only mountain railway in Japan that opened in 1919, and because it has a steep slope of 80‰ (per mil), an adhesive method was adopted.

Furthermore, since the minimum turning radius is 30m, it is possible to run while spraying water on the tracks.

In addition, the Hayakawa Bridge, which is famous as the "Iron Bridge of Deyama", is said to have been diverted from the Tenryu River, and is a truss-type bridge designated as a registered tangible cultural property of the country.
 
Hakone-Yumoto Station was decorated with a commemorative plate proving that it was a civil engineering heritage recommended by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, a modern industrial heritage, and that Emperor Heisei and Empress had boarded the train.
 
In other words, the Hakone Tozan Railway is not just a means of transportation, but an important heritage for us. Moreover, it was an opportunity to recognize that it is a splendid tourism resource.

It was a ride that I felt that it would be nice to change the schedule of the trip once in a while.

「夢幻花」東野圭吾 "Fantasy Flower" Keigo Higashino

私の中では、どの作品を選んでも安心してのめりこめる推理小説作家が東野圭吾氏。これまでも時間を忘れて、のめりこませてもらった。
 
いつものとおり序盤は様々な登場人物の背景が描かれる。そして、事件が起き、その犯人を捜すという展開に。

言ってみればお決まりの推理小説の流れではある。しかし、いつもながら感心されられるのが、詳細に調べつくした専門的なテーマ。
 
今回は、それがタイトルにある「夢幻花」だ。ネタバレになるがあえて書くと、自然界に存在しない「黄色いあさがお」のことだ。
 
かなりマニアックで深く調べないと書けない内容だが、そこは東野作品の凄いところで、専門的な内容も深堀し尽くしている。
 
さらに、事件の真相を暴きながらも、主人公の若者達の揺れ動く心の迷いを徐々に取り払い、進むべき道筋を見出している。

そうした点は、生き方について、示唆を与える点は、迷える若い読者への励みにもなるかもしれない。
 いずれにしても、今回も安心してのめり込ませてくれた作品に感謝！

In other words, it's the flow of the usual detective story. But what always impresses me is the scrutiny and expertise of the subject matter.
 
This time, it is "Fantasy Flower" in the title. It's going to be a spoiler, but if I dare to write it, it's about "yellow morning glory" that doesn't exist in the natural world.
 
It's quite a maniac and can't be written without deep research, but that's the great thing about Higashino's work, and it's full of technical content.
 
Furthermore, while uncovering the truth of the incident, he gradually removes the hesitation of the young protagonists' swaying minds and finds a path to follow.

Such a point, a point that suggests a way of life, may be an encouragement to young readers who are lost.
Anyway, thank you for making me fall in love with this work again!

暦の上では秋に入るが、まだまだ暑い。しかし、今朝草むしりをした際に少しだけ、涼しげな風を感じた。

たまたま金曜日、土曜日と涼しい日が続いたことも影響しているかもしれないが、今後は徐々に秋に向かうことに期待したい。

とは言え、今は地球温暖化の影響が世界各地で発生している。その考えは甘いかもしれない。

それならば、余計に涼しさを感じるような感性が必要になってきそうだ。

「工藤麻記子展 花が咲いて存在に気が付くみたいな」平塚市美術館 "Makiko Kudo Exhibition: It's like a flower blooms and notices its existence" Hiratsuka Museum of Art

本当は真鶴半島の先にある中川一政美術館に行きたかったが、バスの本数が少なくて、予定を立てにくかったので今回は諦めた。

そこで、代わりに帰りの途中に寄れる平塚市美術館に行ってみた。市制90周年記念として開催されていた標記展示会だが、とても良かった。自分の中では代打ホームランのように大正解だった。

私は工藤麻記子氏という画家を知らなかったが、日常の一場面をポップで綺麗な色使いで、どことなく漫画チックな人や動物の描き方の中で、しかし何故か深い想いを感じた。

つまり、一つひとつの作品をよくよく見ないと理解出来ない感じがしたのだ。

日本の美術館では初めての個展とのことだそうだが、今後さらに有名になる画家ではないかと感じた。

She said that this was her first solo exhibition at a Japanese art museum, and I felt that she would become a more famous painter in the future.

印象派の収蔵品が日本最大級という箱根のポーラ美術館に行ってきた。

開館20周年記念で印象派のクロード・モネやルノアールから現代美術のゲルハルト・リヒターまで幅広く展示するという趣旨のようだ。

私はかなり以前に箱根旅行のついでに、この美術館に来た記憶がある。とにかく緑多い森の中にある白くてカッコいい美術館というイメージだけが残っていた。

今回は、多分見て回るのに時間がかかるだろうと思い、先にレストランで食事してから入館した。

前評判が高かったので、個人的には相当に期待していたが、現代美術に疎い自分にとっては、結果的に少し物足りなさを感じてしまった。

だから、最近は展覧会の図録を買うのが恒例となっているが、今回はそれを買わずに過去に開催された「ポーラ美術館の印象派展」の図録を代わりに買うことにした。

館内で作品を見終わった後も、屋外の遊歩道にある記念彫刻やオブジェを楽しめる点は良かった。

今度来る時は、どんな作品が展示されるのかをよくよく調べてから来ることにしたい。

蝉音に揺られてひらり百日紅 63 Crape myrtle that fell lightly to the sound of cicadas

ミンミンと蝉がうるさい朝の犬の散歩の際、近くの学校の敷地内に百日紅、別名さるすべりの花が咲いていることに気づいた。

この季節に長く咲いているために百日紅と名付けられたらしいが、すでに下の道には花弁が何枚か落ちてい
た。

小さて柔らかな花弁なので、そよ風でも落ちてしまうのだろう。場合によっては、うるさい蝉の声が振動として伝わってくるのかもしれない。

でも100日は咲き続けるなら、次々に花はでてくるのだろうか？
今後の散歩では、どのような変化があるのか、観察してみようと考えながら、そんなことを思いながら、帰ってきた。

「ブルータス（通いたくなるミュージアム）」 "BRUTUS(museum you want to go to)"

大学生の頃、定期的に購読していたのが、このブルータスという雑誌。そのちょっと前に出版されて一躍ブームになったポパイより、ちょっと大人っぽくてお洒落な雰囲気が好きで、よく読んでいた。
 
特に建築やインテリアなどの特集は、建築系の専門誌よりも哲学的でなく軽い感じであったのが良かった。
 
その後、カーサブルータスなどのように住宅に特化した雑誌が出版されて、値段も高くなってきたのもあり、段々と定期購読からは遠ざかっていった記憶がある。
 
そんなブルータスが私の目に留まったのは、「通いたくなるミュージアム」という特集の新聞広告だった。マイブームにズバリ直球が投げられた感じで、久しぶり買ってみたのだ。
 
改めて読んで見ると、「字が小さい」。思いもしなかった最初の感想がそれでは情けないが、中高年向けではないことがすぐに認識できた。

「老いてこそ遊べ」遠藤周作 "Play when you're old" by Shusaku Endo

そこで、タイトルにも興味を持ったので、読んでみることにした。そして、私はとても笑い、勇気ももらえた。

この本は、もともと著者が文藝春秋など他の文学誌によせたエッセイをテーマ毎に再収録したもの。

そのため、少し時間軸が違うが、一貫しているのは、老人だからと言って躊躇せずに、好きなように遊ぼうということだ。

構成は次の5章である。
①人生、楽しむこと
②おかしな友人
③死ぬの生きるの騒いでみも・・・
④老いる時は老いるがよし
⑤人生の夕映え穏やかに

とにかく多趣味な人で、芝居やコーラスをやったり、社交ダンスにも挑戦している。
勿論、碁を打ったり、盆栽いじりなど、老人らしい一面もあるが、若い人を連れて街歩きなどもする。

全体的に一昔前の内容にはなっており、50歳後半から老人という年齢のイメージが今とは合わない感じもした。

ただ、そんなことを気にせずに著者は遊び回っていたことについて、とても私は感心した。

また、最後の章では「人生の夕映え」という言葉を使っており、その辺りは流石に作家だけあって、哀愁を帯びている。

著者の没後、随分経ってからの再編集による発行となった理由がよくわからないが、いつ死ぬかわからないと思えば、やりたいことをやった方がいいという思いは十分に伝わってくる本であった。

Overall, the content is from a long time ago, and I felt that the image of an old man from the late 50s does not match the current image.

However, I was very impressed that the author was playing around without worrying about such things.

Also, in the final chapter, he uses the phrase ``Jinsei no Yubae'', which, as one would expect from a writer, is tinged with melancholy.

I don't really understand why it was re-edited and published after a long time after the author's death, but it is a book that fully conveys the thought that if you don't know when you will die, you should do what you want to do.
