「熱帯魚」吉田修一 "Tropical fish" Shuichi Yoshida

私は、以前、吉田修一氏の作品「悪人」と「怒り」を読んだことがある。

どちらものめり込むように読んだ記憶がある。

そして、久しぶりに彼の短編集を読んでみた。「熱帯魚」の他に「グリーンピース」、「突風」という作品もある。

どの作品にも共通しているのが、主人公が若い男で、ちょっとだらしなかったり、不真面目だったりする。

若者特有の自由で崩れた生活、女性との関係などの雰囲気は、青春小説と言える。

しかし、そんな中でも、きちんと生きようとする姿も垣間見えるところが、現実離れしていない。

この短編集を読んでいた間、私は3つ普段しないことをした。
一つは朝の通勤での乗り越した。次は昼寝の開始時間を過ぎた。最後にテレビを見ている時にCM中に読んだ。

つまり、やはりのめり込んで読んでしまった。それだけの魅力がある小説だということだ。

I have read Shuichi Yoshida's works "Villain" and "Angry" before.

I remember reading both of them as if I was absorbed in them.

And I read his collection of short stories for the first time in a while. In addition to "Tropical fish", there are also works called "Green peas" and "Gust".

What all the works have in common is that the main character is a young man, who is a little sloppy or unscrupulous.

The atmosphere of youth-specific free and crumbled life and relationships with women can be said to be a youth novel.

However, even in such a situation, the fact that he is trying to live properly is not unrealistic.

While reading this collection, I did three things I wouldn't normally do.

One was overcoming the morning commute. Next, the start time of the nap has passed. I read it during the commercial when I was watching TV last time.

In other words, I was absorbed in reading it. It's a novel that is so attractive.
