青函連絡船メモリアルシップ八甲田丸 Seikan Train Ferry Memorial Ship Hakkoda Maru [Impression]
青森駅で時間を潰すつもりで寄った八甲田丸。展示室内に入るといきなり、当時の青森の日常の風景を模した等身大のジオラマがある。青函ワールドと言われるもので、他の船に、あったものを取り出して、再設置したものだそうだ。
その後に動画説明の部屋に入ると、青函連絡船の様々なことを紹介してくれていた。
自分は乗船したことがあり、青函連絡船のことは、もう知っているつもりになっていたが、全く知らなかったことが分かった。
例えば、レールがあり貨車をそのまま積み込めること。戦争中に米軍の爆撃を受けていたこと。そして、台風で5隻も沈没して1400名以上の乗客が犠牲になっていたことなど。
そんな歴史があったのか？と初めて知ることができたのも、足を運んでみたからだ。
帰宅して、自宅でテレビを見ていたら、なんと駅のランキングを紹介する番組で青森駅や八甲田丸のことが紹介されていた。
なんと言うグッドタイミングかも興奮しながら、動画で最後の別れを惜しむ沢山の人々の紙テープを思い出していた。

When I got home and watched TV at home, a program introducing the station rankings introduced Aomori Station and Hakkoda Maru.
