「THIS IS US/ディス イズ アス36歳、これから」 "This is us"

このアメリカのドラマは、白人の双子と同じ日に生まれた黒人の養子の3人を中心にした家族の物語。

毎回、様々な登場人物の生い立ちや生活にスポットを当て、過去と現在、場合によっては未来を交えながら進行する。

最初は目まぐるしく展開するストーリー展開に戸惑った私だが、段々と慣れていった。そして、過去の話が現在へと繋がっていることに気づくようになった。

時代背景は、ベトナム戦争の時代から、コロナ禍の最近の状況まで幅広い。だから、アメリカ社会をよく理解したい人には、うってつけのドラマと言える。

また、主役の3人が36歳の誕生日から物語が始まる。そして40歳頃までに経験する、結婚、出産、子育て、仕事などを描写しているので、同年代の人達にも共感出来る内容が多いと思う。

これまで、私はシーズン5まで全88話を見た。一日にほぼ2話を見るペースで見たが、Amazon prime videoでは、これ以上をまだ見ることが出来ない。

現在、アメリカ本国では最終となるシリーズ6が放送されているらしいが、早く続きを見たい。

This American drama is a family story centered around three adopted black children born on the same day as white twins.

Each time, It focuses on the background and life of various characters, and progresses with the past, present, and in some cases the future.

At first, I was confused by the rapid development of the story, but I gradually got used to it. And I came to realize that the story of the past is connected to the present.

The historical background ranges from the Vietnam War era to the recent situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is a perfect drama for those who want to understand American society well.

In addition, the story begins on the 36th birthday of the three protagonists. And since it describes marriage, childbirth, child-rearing, work, etc. that you will experience by the age of 40, I think that there are many contents that people of the same age can sympathize with.

So far, I've watched all 88 episodes until Season 5. I watched almost two episodes a day, but I can't see any more on Amazon prime video yet.

Currently, it seems that the final series 6 is being broadcast in the United States, but I would like to see the continuation soon.
