「This is us」

アマゾンプライムで配信しているアメリカのドラマ。
先日、私はシリーズ６まで全106話を見終わった。
ということで、今、少し寂しい気持ちになっている。

物語は、36歳の男２人、女１人の３兄弟の人生を通したファミリードラマ。

実はこの兄弟は、三つ子として生まれたが、そのうち１人が死産だった。

そして、同じ日に生まれたが消防署前に捨てられた黒人の子が、この家族に引き取られて３兄弟として育てられた。

このドラマの特徴的なことは、時代が目まぐるしく変わること。現在、過去、未来と。

さらに、過去でもいろいろな時点が再現されるため、最初のうちはとても混乱した。

それでも、慣れてくるとすぐに話の流れが理解できるようになる。

人種、ＬＧＢＴ、政治、依存症、戦争、離婚、身体、病気など様々なテーマがあるため、現代のアメリカ人のものの考え方などが良くわかった。

このドラマは兄弟３人が主役ではあるが、実際には、若い頃から亡くなるまで一貫して代役を立てずに演じきった母親が中心になっていると私は感じた。

アマゾンプライムビデオを見ることが出来る方にはお勧めである。

I recently finished watching all 106 episodes up to series 6.
So I am feeling a little sad now.

The story is a family drama through the lives of three brothers, two male and one female, aged 36.

The brothers were actually born as triplets, one of which was stillborn.

Then, a black child born on the same day but abandoned in front of a fire station was taken in by this family and raised as three brothers.

What is unique about this drama is that the time period changes rapidly. Present, past, and future.

And even in the past, various points in time are reenacted, which was very confusing at first.

Nevertheless, as one gets used to it, one soon understands the flow of the story.

The various themes of race, LGBT, politics, addiction, war, divorce, the body, disease, etc., gave me a good understanding of the way Americans think today.

Although the three siblings are the main characters in this drama, I actually felt that the main focus of the story was their mother, who consistently played the role without an understudy from the time she was young until her death.

If you have access to Amazon Prime Video, I recommend it.
