鰻は旨し。でも後味悪し。The eel is delicious. But the aftertaste is bad.

今年最後の墓参りを終えて、鰻を食べることにした。

墓参りの前に店内を覗いたところ、土曜日のお昼だというのに客もスタッフも誰も見えなかったので、臨時休業なのかと、とても心配した。

「クリスマスイブだからかなぁ？」とか、「いつも鰻を焼いている高齢の女将さんに何かあったのかなぁ？」とか、根拠も理屈もなく考えてしまった。

墓参り後に行ってみたら、結局開いていた。

クリスマスイブに鰻を食べるという自分達が珍しいだけだと納得。

実は、美味しそうなので、ミラーレスカメラを取り出して写真を数枚写したが、よくよく見たら全てボケていた。

ということで、この写真は残念ながらiPhoneで撮ったもの。

鰻の味は良かったが、カメラについては後味が悪いランチだった。

After visiting the grave for the last time this year, we decided to eat eel.

When I looked inside the restaurant before visiting the grave, I was very worried that the restaurant was temporarily closed because I saw no customers or staff even though it was noon on Saturday.

I wondered if it was because it was Christmas Eve?" Or, "Something happened to the elderly proprietress who always cooks eels?" I wondered without any reason or logic.

I went there after visiting the grave and found it was open after all.

I was convinced that we were just unusual in eating eel on Christmas Eve.

Actually, it looked so good that I took out my mirrorless camera and took a few pictures, but upon closer inspection, they were all blurry.

So, unfortunately, this photo was taken with an iPhone.

The taste of the eel was good, but as for the camera, it was a lunch with a bad aftertaste.
