座喜味城跡 Zakimi Castle Ruins

読谷村のビーチサイドでゆっくり過ごすつもりだったが、近くに世界遺産があるのに見に行かないわけにはいかないと考え、行ってみた。

天守閣などお城の本体はすでに無くなっているが、城壁が残っている。

驚いたのが、平らな土地に建っていないこと。そして、ぐにゃぐにゃと曲線状になっていることだった。

こんな城壁は本土では見たこともなく、とてもびっくりした。
だからこそ、世界遺産だと言われれば、それまでだが。

さらに敵を袋小路に追い込んでいくためのスペースもあり、とてもよく考えられた城壁だ。

他にもいくつか世界遺産に指定されているお城が沖縄にはあるので、次回は見に行ってみようと考えている。

I intended to spend a relaxing time on the beach side of Yomitan Village, but I thought I couldn't help but go to see it even though there is a World Heritage Site nearby, so I went there.

The main body of the castle, such as the castle tower, has already disappeared, but the walls remain.

What surprised me was that it wasn't built on a flat land. And it was a curved line.

I've never seen such a wall on the japanese mainland, and I was very surprised.
That's why, if it is said that it is a World Heritage Site, until then.

There is also space to drive the enemy into the dead end, making it a very well thought out wall.

There are several other castles in Okinawa that have been designated as World Heritage Sites, so I'm thinking of going to see them next time.
