踏ん切りつかない海外旅行 Traveling abroad with no way to get off the ground

世界の中でも遅れていた日本における海外旅行の水際対策が11日から大幅に緩和された。
併せて、全国旅行支援も始まった。

台湾では日本への旅行が大盛況との報道もあったが、海外から日本への旅行者は、近年ないほどの円安もあり、相当にお得感も増している。
 
そうした意味で、これまで大変厳しい状況だった旅行業界にとっては、待望の日となった。

ただ、私自身は半分しか喜べない。
何故なら、国内旅行は全国旅行支援の恩恵を受けることなる一方、最も行きたいヨーロッパ旅行に新たなハードルが出来てしまっているからだ。
 
それは、マイレージを使うにしても、燃油サーチャージが異常に高くなっていること。

コロナ禍でキャンセルしたウイーンやプラハに行くには、ロシア上空を飛べず、14時間以上と大幅に時間がかかること。

さらに、現地に行っても円安の影響で宿泊や食事の費用がかなり割高になることなどだ。
 
そんなことを気にしていたら、何時までたっても行けないわけなので、そろそろ計画を立てなければとは思っているものの、何故か踏ん切りがつかない。
 
これもコロナ禍で発想が内向きになってしまったからなのだろうか。

That is, fuel surcharges have become abnormally high, even when using frequent flyer miles.

To get to Vienna or Prague, which were cancelled due to the Corona disaster, you cannot fly over Russia and it takes much more than 14 hours to get there.

Furthermore, even if they go there, the cost of lodging and meals will be much more expensive due to the weak yen.

If I keep worrying about such things, I will never be able to go there, so I think it is time to make a plan, but for some reason I have not made up my mind.

I wonder if this is because my thinking has turned inward due to the Corona disaster.
