海上自衛隊横須賀地方総監部が開催してくれる潜水艦の一般公開は、とてもありがたいのですが、潜水艦の場合、ただ背中の上に乗るだけなので、だんだんとみるべきことが減ってしまいます。しかも現在日本には「おやしお型」「そうりゅう型」そして、「たいげい型」の３タイプのみなので、外観の種類も３種類だけなのです。

だから、マンネリ化しつつも、見学に行きますが、やはり現地に行けば行ったで、発見することもあります。なんと、方向指示器がついているとは知りませんでした。これは夜間に浦賀水道などの水面を走る場合に必要なものだそうです。

やはり現場に行って初めてわかることがあるんだな～と納得しています。

The JMSDF's Yokosuka Regional Admiralty is very grateful to the JMSDF's Yokosuka Regional Admiralty for holding open-house events for submarines, but in the case of submarines, there is less and less to see because you are just riding on their backs. Moreover, there are currently only three types of submarines in Japan: the Oyashio class, the Soyu class, and the Tai-Gei class, so there are only three different types of submarines in terms of appearance.

So, even though I am in a rut, I still go to see them, but I find something new when I go there. I didn't know they were equipped with direction indicators. I was told that these are necessary when the boat runs on the surface of water such as the Uraga Channel at night.

I am convinced that there are things that can only be discovered by going to the site.
