春節祭の仮面が怖いのは何故？ Why are the masks of the Chinese New Year Festival so scary?

昨日、馬車道駅に飾られていたランタンオブジェ。

改札口の目の前に高さ3メートルもありそうな怖い仮面が2体も鎮座してた。

これなら誰でも春節の時期だと思い知らされる。

チラシをもらってわかったが、横浜中華街などを中心にしたイベントが丁度春節である1月22日から始まっているようだ。

3年ぶりの本格実施とのことで、多くの人が集まりすぎて、既に一部のイベントは中止になった。

徐々に、パンデミックから離れている感じがするのは少し嬉しいが、何故、これほど怖い顔なのか？

ググっても出てこない。

Two scary masks that looked to be 3 meters high were sitting right in front of the ticket gate.

This reminds anyone that it is the Chinese New Year.

I found out from a flyer that events centering on Yokohama's Chinatown and other areas began on January 22, exactly during Chinese New Year.

This is the first time in three years that this event has been fully implemented, and some events have already been canceled due to too many people gathering.

Gradually, I am a little happy to feel that we are getting away from the pandemic, but why so many scary faces?

I can't find anything by googling.
