「夢幻花」東野圭吾 "Fantasy Flower" Keigo Higashino

私の中では、どの作品を選んでも安心してのめりこめる推理小説作家が東野圭吾氏。これまでも時間を忘れて、のめりこませてもらった。
 
いつものとおり序盤は様々な登場人物の背景が描かれる。そして、事件が起き、その犯人を捜すという展開に。

言ってみればお決まりの推理小説の流れではある。しかし、いつもながら感心されられるのが、詳細に調べつくした専門的なテーマ。
 
今回は、それがタイトルにある「夢幻花」だ。ネタバレになるがあえて書くと、自然界に存在しない「黄色いあさがお」のことだ。
 
かなりマニアックで深く調べないと書けない内容だが、そこは東野作品の凄いところで、専門的な内容も深堀し尽くしている。
 
さらに、事件の真相を暴きながらも、主人公の若者達の揺れ動く心の迷いを徐々に取り払い、進むべき道筋を見出している。

そうした点は、生き方について、示唆を与える点は、迷える若い読者への励みにもなるかもしれない。
 いずれにしても、今回も安心してのめり込ませてくれた作品に感謝！
 
In my mind, Keigo Higashino is a detective novelist who I can feel at ease no matter which work I choose. I'm lost track of time, and I have been absorbed in it.
 
As usual, the beginning of the story depicts the backgrounds of various characters. Then, an incident occurs, and the development is to search for the culprit.

In other words, it's the flow of the usual detective story. But what always impresses me is the scrutiny and expertise of the subject matter.
 
This time, it is "Fantasy Flower" in the title. It's going to be a spoiler, but if I dare to write it, it's about "yellow morning glory" that doesn't exist in the natural world.
 
It's quite a maniac and can't be written without deep research, but that's the great thing about Higashino's work, and it's full of technical content.
 
Furthermore, while uncovering the truth of the incident, he gradually removes the hesitation of the young protagonists' swaying minds and finds a path to follow.

Such a point, a point that suggests a way of life, may be an encouragement to young readers who are lost.
