「THE GREATS スコットランド国立美術館 美の巨匠たち」東京都美術館 "THE GREATS Scottish National Gallery Beauty Masters" Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum

スコットランド国立美術館は、ナショナル・ミュージアムとナショナル・ポートレート・ミュージアム、さらにナショナル・ミュージアム・オブ・モダン・アートの3館で構成される美術館の総称とのことだ。

今回は、「ルネサンス、バロック、グランド・ツアーの時代、そして19世紀の開拓者たち」と、それぞれの時代を代表するような作品約90点が展示されている。

有名な画家の作品が満載である。ラファエロ、エル・グレコ、ベラスケス、レンブラントなどだ。特にパンフレットの表紙を飾るベラスケスの「卵を料理する老婆」の卵の白身が固まりつつある表現は素晴らしい。

また、フランシス・グラントというスコットランドの画家の「ウィリアム・マーカム夫人」の作品を初めてみたが、しばし見とれてしまった。

その女性は画家の結婚直前の愛娘だそうで、愛に溢れた雰囲気が漂っていた。

私は休みの日に訪れたが、ゆっくり見るためには、平日の方が良いかもしれない。

The Scottish National Gallery is a general term for museums consisting of the National Museum, the National Portrait Museum, and the National Museum of Modern Art.

This time around 90 works that represent each era, such as "Renaissance, Baroque, the era of the Grand Tour, and the pioneers of the 19th century," are on display.

It is full of works by famous painters. Raphael, El Greco, Velázquez, Rembrandt and more. In particular, the expression that the egg whites of Bellasukes's "Old Woman Cooking Eggs", which decorates the cover of the pamphlet, is solidifying is wonderful.

I also saw the work of the Scottish painter "Mrs. William Markham" by Francis Grant for the first time, but I was fascinated by it for a while.

The woman seems to be her beloved daughter just before the painter's marriage, and there was an atmosphere full of her love.

I visited on a day off, but it may be better on weekdays to see it slowly.
