少しセンセーショナルなタイトルだが、自分自身そう感じていた。
実際、自分がどのくらい世界のニュースを知らないか、その確認をするため読んでみた。

本書は、世界の「政治、常識、社会状況、最新情報、教養、国民性」という6つの切り口から日本人が知らないことを紹介している。

移民に悩まされている国が多い中で、カナダはウェルカムなことは全く知らなかったので、少し驚いたし、日本の移民政策がどういるべきか、考えさせられた。

中でも、次の引用はインパクトがあった。『「ゲイとロックバンドがいない町は経済発展競争に負ける」。つまり、多様性を受け入れない国や町には未来はない、ということ。』

また、国連機関で働いた経験がある著者による国連の説明、「国連はドブ掃除でもめる町内会」の例えもよく理解出来た。

さらに、国民性の部分は事実かどうかは別として、イタリア人の風呂嫌い、ドスケベなドイツ人など、読み物として楽しく読んだ。

少し辛辣な言葉もあるが、国際感覚という観点で言えば、ぬるま湯に使った日本人、特に国際的な状況を少しでも知りたいという人にはお勧めの本だと思う。

Also, I could understand the explanation of the United Nations by the author who has worked at the United Nations organization, and the analogy of "The United Nations is a neighborhood association that can be cleaned by sewage."

Furthermore, regardless of whether the national character is true or not, I enjoyed reading it as a reading material, such as Italians who hate bathing and Germans who are lewd.

There are some harsh words, but from an international perspective, I think this book is recommended for Japanese people who have used lukewarm water, especially for those who want to know the international situation as much as possible.
