「華麗なるギャツビー」"The Great Gatsby"

1925年の小説が元になっている映画。この作品で4作目というから、名作になるのだろう。

主役のギャツビー(レオナルド・デカプリオ)がなかなか登場しないので、「どうしたのかなぁ？」と不思議に思っていたが、心配御無用！という感じで、力強く物語が進む。

なんと言っても驚きは、日本で言えば、大正から昭和になる頃の時代設定なのに、豪華絢爛な宮殿、パーティ、ドレス、カッコいい車、どれをとっても、アメリカという国の文化に驚いてしまった。

そんな中でも、貧困から脱出し、戦争を経て、愛する人へ尽くそうとする主役の姿が、力強くでも少し切なくも感じた。

もしかしたら、前に上映されたそれぞれの作品と見較べるのも面白いかもしれない。

A movie based on a 1925 novel. Since this is the 4th work, it will be a masterpiece.

The protagonist, Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), hasn't appeared yet, so I was wondering "what happened?", But don't worry! With that feeling, the story progresses powerfully.

After all, I was surprised at the culture of the United States, whether it was a gorgeous palace, a party, a dress, or a cool car, even though it was set in the period from the Taisho era to the Showa era in Japan. ..

Even so, I felt the protagonist trying to escape from poverty, go through the war, and serve his loved ones, both powerfully and a little painfully.

Perhaps it's interesting to compare it to each of the previous films.
