「マスカレード・ホテル」東野圭吾 "Masquerade Hotel" Keigo Higashino

すでに映画化されている作品なので、主役の木村拓哉さんと長澤まさみさんをイメージしながら読むことになった。
一流のホテルは一見華やかであるが、実はスタッフにとってはとても大変な仕事だということがよくわかった。
それを題材にしたのが何とも面白い。そんなホテルの客はそれぞれ仮面を被っているのと同じという比喩表現で「マスカレード・ホテル」という題名にしたのも頷ける。
読み始めの頃は、なかなか事件に結び付かないので、単なるホテルの紹介小説なのかと錯覚するくらいだった。もしかしたら、もともと映画を前提にしている演出なのかと思ってしまった。しかし、やはり東野圭吾氏は裏切らない。全ては結論の伏線であるところが無駄がない。
実は、電車内で立って読んでいるのに、降車駅を乗り過ごしてしまったくらい、のめり込んでしまう作品だった。
Since it has already been made into a movie, I decided to read it while imagining the protagonists Takuya Kimura and Masami Nagasawa.

It's really interesting to use that as a theme. It is no wonder that the title of "Masquerade Hotel" is a metaphorical expression that each guest of such a hotel is the same as wearing a mask.
When I first started reading it, it didn't lead to an incident, so I had the illusion that it was just a hotel introduction novel. I wondered if it was originally based on a movie. However, Keigo Higashino does not betray. Everything is a hint of conclusion, but there is no waste.
Actually, even though I was standing on the train and reading, it was a work that I was so absorbed in that I overcame the getting off station.
