お寺と神社の御朱印の違い Differences between red seals at temples and shrines

これまで全く興味もなかった御朱印。今回、久しぶりに鎌倉を散策した際に、パートナーが持っていた御朱印帳を借りて、それぞれのお寺や神社でいただくことにした。

そして、わかったことは、神社の場合は、真ん中に神社名が書かれるが、お寺の場合は、ご本尊が記されるということ。

以前は、「神社よりお寺の方が格好良いな〜」くらいの感想しかもっていなかったが、そういうことだったのかと、改めて知った。

まだまだ知らないことが沢山あり、それを一つ知ることが出来たことが単純に嬉しい。

I had never been interested in red seals before. This time, when I strolled around Kamakura for the first time in a while, I borrowed my partner's red seal book and decided to get one at each temple and shrine.

As it turned out, in the case of shrines, the name of the shrine is written in the center of the book, but in the case of temples, the name of the main deity is written.

I used to think that temples were better looking than shrines, but now I know again that this is the case.

There are still many things I don't know, and I am simply glad to have learned one more.
