学問の常識を逆転させた叡智6人へインタビューした内容をまとめた本。

例えば、「人類の未来」、「情報社会の行方」や「科学に何が出来るか」など。

さらに、インターネット社会の将来や教育、宗教。さらには推薦図書なども。

すでに10年前に書かれた本であり、古本屋で何気なく手に取った本だったが、私にとっては久々に面白いと思えた本だった。

6人はそれぞれ、生物学、言語学、精神医学、人工知能、応用数学、そして分子生物学などの超一流の学者であり、それぞれの答えは違っても自信に満ちているため、確かに！と思ってしまう。

また、興味深いのは、宗教については、他人の宗教を否定しないが、自らは無宗教か、宗教に頼らない生き方をしているという点。

さらに完全に共通するのは、「限りなく真実を求めて」というような姿勢だ。

ネタバレになるが、第1章 文明の崩壊の中で、ジャレド・ダイアモンド氏が、とても恐ろしい指摘をしているので、下記に示して終わりにする。

文明崩壊の5要素
①環境に対する取り返しのつかない人為的な影響
②気候の変化
③敵対する近隣諸国との対立
④友好国からの疎遠
⑤環境問題に対する誤った対処

これは全て揃わなくても、崩壊することがあるらしい。

どの文明が崩壊するのだろうか？

Although this book was written 10 years ago and I picked it up casually at a used bookstore, I found it one of the most interesting books I have read in a long time.

Each of the six is a top-notch scholar in biology, linguistics, psychiatry, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, and molecular biology, and even though their answers are different, they are confident enough to make you think, "Sure! you would think.

What is also interesting is that, as for religion, they do not deny others' religions, but they themselves are either non-religious or live a non-religious life.

What is more completely common is an attitude like "seeking truth without limit.

Spoiler alert, in Chapter 1: The Collapse of Civilization, Jared Diamond makes a very frightening point, which I will end by indicating below.

It is said that all of these do not have to be in place for a collapse to occur.
