バームクーヘンのような地層 Formations like a baumkuchen

伊豆大島の元町港から波浮港に向かう途中にあるのが、地層大切断面。

過去約2万年間に繰り返された噴火や約100回の噴出物の結果が現れていて、不思議な紋様である。

630メートルに渡るので、どこからどのように写真を撮るか迷った。

また、どのようにこの地層が出来てきたのか、その過程をとても知りたくなった。

首都圏から近い伊豆大島は、やはり火山観光地だと改めて認識させられた。

On the way from Motomachi Port to Habu Port on Izu Oshima is an important stratigraphic cut surface.

It is a mysterious pattern that shows the results of repeated eruptions and about 100 ejecta over the past 20,000 years.

Since it spans 630 meters, it was hard to decide where and how to take pictures.

I was also very curious to know how this formation was formed.

I was reminded once again that Izu Oshima, which is close to the Tokyo metropolitan area, is still a volcanic tourist destination.

その通り圧巻の地層ですね。
私達は自転車でしたが、車の通りは少なかったので、止まって鑑賞出来ました。
