なんと36年前？三原山噴火 What 36 years ago? Mt. Mihara Eruption

正直なところ10年か15年くらい前のことだと思っていたけど、36年も前のことだと知って驚いた。

実は、今日、初めて伊豆大島に上陸した。そして、宿の温泉から戻ってきたところ。

三原山の火口を一周歩いて回り、未だに出ている煙と風の強さに驚き、脚の筋肉痛を心配しながら、スーパードライを飲んでいるのが、まさに今。

当時、被災された方々には申し訳ないけど、地球が織りなす自然現象に、人間は抗えないことを実感した一日であった。

To be honest, I thought it was about 10 or 15 years ago, but was surprised to learn that it was 36 years ago.

In fact, today I landed on Izu Oshima for the first time. And I just came back from a hot spring at the inn.

I walked around the crater of Mt. Mihara, was amazed at the smoke still coming out of the crater and the strength of the wind, and am now drinking a Super Dry while worrying about the muscle pain in my legs.

I am sorry for those who were affected by the disaster at the time, but it was a day that made me realize that humans cannot resist natural phenomena woven by the earth.
