「奇跡の人」東京芸術劇場 "The Miracle Worker" Tokyo Metropolitan Theater

3部制で休憩は2回、合計3時間20分の長丁場の芝居。

3重苦のヘレン・ケラーを辛抱強く言葉を教え込んだサリバン先生の物語で演劇界では超ロングセラーの演目。

主役はテレビや映画でも活躍している高畑充希さん。ヘレン役は当然セリフがないが、平祐奈さん。彼女はサッカーの長友選手の奥さんの妹といえば、わかる人が多いらしい。

私はあまり知らなかったが、サリバン先生自身は障害者施設で育ち、しかも盲目だったことがあるとのことだった。

舞台装置は割とシンプルだが、多面的な見せ方が出来る工夫がされていた。

そして、芝居は愛と絆を表現しており、迫力とエネルギーに満ちていた。

最後のエンディングは期待したより少し派手目の演出のような気がしたが、充分に泣ける納得の終わり方。

一緒に行ったパートナーからは、「これまで観た芝居の中で最高だった」とのコメントも。

確かにそのレベルで平日の夕方に無理して行った価値がある作品だった。

It was a three-part system with two breaks, a total of 3 hours and 20 minutes long play.

It was a super long-selling performance in the theater world with the story of Mr. Sullivan who patiently taught the words to Helen Keller who was suffering from triple pain.

The protagonist is Mitsuki Takahata, who is also active in television and movies. Of course, the role of Helen has no lines, but Yuna Taira. It seems that many people know that she is the younger sister of the wife of Nagatomo, a soccer player.

I didn't know much, but Sullivan herself grew up in the facilities for the disabled and she had been blind.

The stage set was relatively simple, but it was devised to give it a multifaceted look.

And the play expressed love and bond, and was full of power and energy.

The final ending seemed to be a little more flashy than I expected, but it was a convincing ending that made me cry enough.

A partner I went with commented, "It was the best play I've ever seen."

Certainly it was a work worth forcing on a weekday evening at that level.
