「蝉しぐれ」藤沢周平 "Shinshigure" Shuhei Fujisawa

実は、著者の小説を読むのは今回が初めてだった。最近、時代小説が面白いと感じるようになっていた私だが、「たそがれ清兵衛」という映画を以前観た時に、良い印象がなかったから、どうなんだろう？という気持ちでこの本を読み始めた。

しかし、それは杞憂に終わった。一気に読み終えてしまったのだ。
江戸時代でも現代に通じる部分がある一方で、武士という身分、藩内の理不尽な政治闘争などは、興味深い。

主人公が少年から青年へと成長していく姿を捉える点では、青春小説と考えても良いと感じた。

読後は爽やかな気分になった。

In fact, this was my first time reading the author's novel. Recently, I've come to find the period drama novel interesting, but when I watched the movie "The Twilight Samurai" before, I didn't have a good impression, so what about it? I started reading this book with that feeling.

However, it ended in a melancholy. I finished reading it all at once.
While there are some parts that are familiar to the present age even in the Edo period, the status of a samurai and the unreasonable political struggle within the domain are interesting.

In terms of capturing the growth of the hero from a boy to a young man, I felt that it could be considered a youth novel.

After reading, I felt refreshed.
