思いもよらない災害 An unexpected disaster

東日本大震災が発生してから今日で9年。大きな津波とそれによる原子力発電所の被災、放射性物質の放出など、あの日までは、全く意識をしたことがない災害だった。
そして、昨年秋には、台風15号による風被害、台風19号による洪水などなど、これらも今までにない被害をもたらした。
さらに今、現在進行中の新コロナウィルス問題。
どれも、私にとっては、思いもよらない災害である。直接の被災はないのが幸いだが、仕事もプライベートも少なからず、影響を受けている。
「思いもよらない」ので、想像も出来なかったということだが、これだけ沢山の災害が起きると、やはり、リスクに備え続けることは必要なのかな？と思い始めている。
決して、楽しいことではないが、どんなことが起こり得るか、一定の覚悟はしておく必要があるように思う。(写真はイメージ画像:pixabay)

It has been nine years since the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred. Until that day, it was a disaster that I had never been aware of, such as a large tsunami and the resulting damage to a nuclear power plant and the release of radioactive materials.
Last fall, typhoon No. 15 and typhoon No. 19 caused floods and other unprecedented damage.
In addition, a new coronavirus problem currently in progress.
All are disasters that I can't imagine. I am fortunate that there was no direct disaster, but my work and personal life were affected to a considerable extent.
I couldn't even imagine it because I couldn't imagine it. If so many disasters happen, is it still necessary to keep preparing for risks? I am starting to think.
