節分 Setsubun

実は年に4回ある節分。文字通り、季節の変わり目のことだ。でも、私達の生活では、2/3日のみが取り沙汰されている。つまり、豆まきや恵方巻きを食べるなどのイベントとして、有名なのは本日だけだ。
調べたところ、明日は立春で、暦の上では、冬から春に変わる時だ。しかも、旧暦では、立春が正月になるので、節分は大晦日だという。なるほど！と合点した。
ところで、我が家ではあまり恵方巻きを食べたりしない。何となく、最近になって話題になっているが、もともとは、関西地方の風習だそうだ。ただ、関西の風習だから、我が家では食べないのではない。単にボリュームが多すぎて、食べる気がしないだけなのだ。その点、豆まきの豆は、年齢分は無理だが、何とか食べることは出来る。しかも、最近は数個がパックになっているので、衛生上も問題ない。これだけは意味がないかもしれないが、時代とともに風習も変わるのは仕方がないことだ。

According to my research, tomorrow is the beginning of spring and according to the calendar, it is time to change from winter to spring. In addition, according to the lunar calendar, New Year's Day is the New Year's Day, so Setsubun is said to be New Year's Eve. So that's it! And concluded.
By the way, I don't eat Ehomaki very much at home. Somehow, recently it has become a hot topic, but originally it seems to be a custom in the Kansai region. However, because it is a Kansai custom, I do not eat at home. It's just too voluminous and doesn't feel like eating. In that respect, beans can be eaten somehow, though age is impossible. In addition, there is no problem in hygiene since several are packed recently. This may not make sense, but it is inevitable that customs change with the times.
