人手不足は深刻？ Is there a serious shortage of manpower?

先日、海上保安庁の巡視船さがみの一般公開に行った際、最後に目にしたのが海上保安学校の募集用パンフレット。

高校生などの気持ちに届くように漫画形式でその魅力について、説明されていました。

若い人の採用が大事なことは、海上自衛隊でもそうだし、他の組織でも同じです。
そして、私の身の回りの業界などでは、若い人を採用出来ないという企業や組織が多いと感じています。

そもそも、人口構成上、若い人が減っているので、それは当たり前です。

海上保安庁や海上自衛隊、その他の頑強な精神力と体力が要求される分野の仕事は特に切実なことでしょう。

一方、そこまで体力を要求されない業界では、もしかしたらこれまでの考え方を変えないとならないのかもしれなせん。

年齢は勿論のこと、性別、学歴、国籍など、こだわりを捨てれば、案外、人材不足ではないかもしれないと、思い始めています。

When I recently visited an open ship of the Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel Sagami, the last thing I saw was a recruitment pamphlet for the Japan Coast Guard Academy.

The pamphlet explained the appeal of the school in a cartoon format to reach the minds of high school students and others.

The importance of recruiting young people is the same in the JCG, and in other organizations as well.
And I feel that many companies and organizations in the industries around me, for example, are unable to hire young people.

To begin with, the number of young people is decreasing in terms of the demographic composition, so it is natural.

This is especially true for jobs in the Japan Coast Guard, Maritime Self-Defense Force, and other fields that require strong mental and physical strength.

On the other hand, in industries that do not require such physical strength, it may be necessary to change the conventional way of thinking.

I am beginning to think that there may not be a shortage of human resources if we can discard our preconceptions about age, gender, educational background, nationality, and so on.
