「星野道夫 悠久の時を旅する」東京都写真美術館 Michio Hoshino: A Journey through Time" Tokyo Photographic Art Museum

とても素晴らしい展示会であった。それというのも、展示作品を見る前に、記念講演会を聞けたからだ。

写真家の星野氏ご本人は、すでに他界されているため、奥様が星野直子さんが、作品の紹介とエピソードなどを講演してくれた。

私自身、星野氏の写真を目にしたことはあったが、人柄などはよく知らなかった。

そのため、奥様から直接エピソードを聞けたのは、展示作品を見る上でとても、感情移入出来て良かった。

写真の素晴らしさは、いうまでもないが、文章が素晴らしい人だ。

そのことについて、講演会の最後に質問した人がいた。

奥様の答えは、本をたくさん読んでいた。文章もたくさん書いていた。
そして、文にならないことも、撮影などで一人ぼっちの時に、色々と自問自答していたからだと思う、ということだった。

確かにそうした人だからこそ、大自然の中での貴重な瞬間を切り取る目を持っていたのだと思う。

自然の写真を撮るのは、実は哲学的でもあると思えた、良い展示会であった。

It was a wonderful exhibition. This is because I was able to listen to a commemorative lecture before seeing the exhibited works.

Mr. Hoshino himself has already passed away, so his wife, Naoko Hoshino, gave a lecture on his works and episodes in his life.

I myself had seen Mr. Hoshino's photographs before, but I did not know much about his personality.

Therefore, it was very good for me to hear directly from his wife about his episodes, and I was able to get emotionally involved in viewing the exhibited works.

Needless to say, his photographs are wonderful, but he is also a wonderful writer.

Someone asked about this at the end of the lecture.

His wife's answer was that he read a lot of books. He also wrote a lot of sentences.
And she said that she thought that the reason she didn't write was because she asked herself a lot of questions when she was alone, such as when she was filming.

It was certainly because he did this that he had an eye for capturing precious moments in the great outdoors.

It was a good exhibition that made me think that taking pictures of nature is actually philosophical as well.
