公道でセグウェイ乗れるの？ Can you ride a Segway on public roads?

と思わず、声に出してしまった。
写真の風景を見てしまったからだ。
なんとなく、インストラクター的な人が一番前にいて、説明しながらだったのでググってみた。

すると、日本国内で唯一、都心臨海部公道でセグウェイが乗れるのが、ここ横浜だということが分かった。

「横浜セグウェイツアー」と題して、あくまで公道実証実験の一環だそうだ。16歳から70歳までの年齢制限や小型特殊自動車を運転できる免許証が必要だそうだ。

料金は、男一人で参加すると１万円だが、女性やカップル・夫婦だと9000円/人、さらに４人グループだと8000円/人と割引もあるそうだ。

２時間半のうち、講習に１時間を取られてしまうので、観光できるのは１時間半だけ。

横浜という見慣れた場所でなければ、間違いなく申し込むだろう。

でも、セグウェイにも乗ってみたいし、8000円で乗れるなら、３人ほど人を募ろうかどうか迷うところだ。

I found out that Yokohama is the only place in Japan where you can ride a Segway on public roads in the city's waterfront area.

The tour, titled "Yokohama Segway Tour," is part of a demonstration experiment on public roads, and requires an age limit of 16 to 70 years old and a driver's license to drive a small special motor vehicle.

The fee for a single male participant is 10,000 yen, but there are discounts for women, couples, and married couples at 9,000 yen per person, and for groups of four at 8,000 yen per person.

Of the two and a half hours, only one and a half hours is available for sightseeing, since one hour is taken up by the training.

If it were not for the familiarity of Yokohama, I would definitely sign up for this tour.

But I would also like to ride a Segway, and if it costs 8,000 yen, I am not sure if I should recruit three people to join me.
