アメリカでは有名なタイラー・ペリーの監督・主演作品。一人で3役もこなしているコメディタッチのドラマだ。原題のとおり、マディアおばさんが証人を保護するストーリーだが、黒人と白人の問題と、田舎と大都会の違いなどを、表現していて、単なるお笑いだけではない。
気取りのないマディアおばさんは、アフリカ系アメリカ人のおばさん達に、特に人気があるというのが、よくわかる。
ストーリーは割と単純でわかりやすい。日本で言えば、吉本新喜劇のようなものかもしれない。気楽な感じで観ることをお勧めする。

As the original title says, Aunt Madia protects the witnesses, but it expresses the problems of blacks and whites and the differences between the countryside and the big cities, and is not just a comedy.
