七夕祭り Star Festival [essay]
今日は友人の命日。とても覚えやすいのは、七夕だからでもある。
関東で七夕祭りと言えば、平塚だが、昨年に続き今年も大々的な開催が出来ないのが残念だ。
調べてみると、平塚の七夕の人出の最高は平成5年で361万人だった。最近はその半分もいかない状況で、右肩下りのようだ。
確かに平成5年前後は、七夕祭りが開催される金曜日に知り合いが沢山集まり、飾り付けを一通り観た後に、飲むというのが、恒例であった。
とても楽しく、その頃は、若さもあり、何もかもが右肩上がりになる雰囲気しかなかった。
しかし、七夕祭りの来場者数だけでなく、そもそもの人口も減り始めている。全世界で新型コロナウイルスが流行してしまい、今も行動を制約されている。
そして何より自分自身も歳を取り、友人が亡くなったりしている。
頭の中でみる未來は、右肩下りのことばかりだ。
しかし、少なくとも七夕の日くらいは、短冊に希望を託し、明るい未来を夢見たいと思う。
Today is the anniversary of my friend's death. It's also very easy to remember because it's Tanabata.
Hiratsuka is the most popular Tanabata festival in the Kanto region, but it's a pity that it can't be held on a large scale this year as it was last year.
When I looked it up, the highest number of people in Hiratsuka's Tanabata was 3.61 million in 1993. Recently, it seems that it is going down to the right, with less than half of that.
Certainly, around 1993, it was customary for many acquaintances to get together on Friday when the Tanabata Festival was held, to see all the decorations, and then to drink.
It was a lot of fun, and at that time, I was young and had an atmosphere where everything went up.
However, not only the number of visitors to the Tanabata Festival, but also the population is starting to decrease. A new type of coronavirus has spread all over the world, and behavior is still restricted.
And most of all, I'm getting older and my friends are dying.
The only thing I see in my head is going down to the right.
However, at least on the day of Tanabata, I would like to entrust my hope to the strips and dream of a bright future.
