「歎異抄をひらく」高森顕徹 "Opening the Tannisho" Kentetsu Takamori

「善人なおもって往生を遂ぐ、いわんや悪人をや。」は聞いたことがあった。これは、「善人でさえ浄土へ生まれることができる、ましてや悪人はなおさらだ。」と意訳される。しかし、自分には全く意味が分からなかった。
この本では、その意味を解説している。善人とは、"善に励んで助かろう、念仏を称えて救われよう"と努める人。これは、念仏くらいは称え切れると思っている人で、ひとえに他力をたのむ心から欠けていると考えられている。自惚れがあるということ。これを自力作善というらしい。一方、悪人とは、煩悩の塊である普通の人間のこと。決して犯罪者のことを言っているわけではないのだ。
そのことが分かっただけで、十分だ。
あえて感想を言えば、今の自分にはあまり興味深い内容ではなかった。分厚い割には、余計な写真のページがあったり、極端に大きな字を使ったりして、妙な感じの本であった。

This book explains its meaning. A good person is a person who strives to "work hard to save and be saved in honor of the Nembutsu." This is a person who thinks that Nembutsu can be praised, and it is thought that he lacks the heart to enjoy other powers. There is self-esteem. It seems that this is self-made. On the other hand, a villain is an ordinary person who is a mass of worldly desires. I'm not talking about criminals by any means.
It's enough to know that.
If I dare to say, it wasn't very interesting to me now. Although it was thick, it had extra photo pages and extremely large letters, so it was a strange book.
