I went to Hatsumode today. Actually, I have been going to Hatsumode after Setsubun for the past few years.
My partner is not sure why, because a friend of mine told him that it is better to go after Setsubun instead of in January, and he is not sure why.
I didn't want to argue with my partner, and Hatsumode is not crowded, so I had lots of questions, but I didn't dare to ask any questions and just went along with it.
By the way, today is National Day.
I looked up the meaning of kenkoku and found that today was the day when the first Emperor Jinmu ascended to the throne.
And today, February 11, is January 1 in the lunar calendar. In other words, it is New Year's Day.
So, it makes sense that I went to Hatsumode today.
Then, I should confidently tell everyone that I went to Hatsumode.
Why?" I might be a little sad if they don't ask, so I might as well not tell them.
