痒い目も桃の節句は我慢かな Itchy eyes must be endured on the Peach Festival

桃の節句と言っても、私の頭の中に思い浮かぶのは、「目が痒い」「鼻水が出る」「腰が痛い」「温かいと思ったらまた寒い」など、どうでもいい、言ってみれば下らないことばかり。

納戸にしまってあるお雛様を飾る気持ちもなく、ここ最近はひな祭りのイベントから遠ざかっている。

それでも、梅や河津桜が咲いたり、徐々に街の風景に優しい花の色が見えるようになってきた。

当然ながら桃も咲き始めている。痒いとか痛いとかばかりでなく、たまには少し風情のあることを感じられる、そんな余裕のある大人になりたいものだ。

When I think of the Peach Festival, all that comes to my mind are unimportant and, let's say, trivial things such as "itchy eyes," "runny nose," "aching back," and "just when I think it's warm, it's cold again.

I don't even feel like decorating the hina dolls that I have stored away in the closet, and I have been staying away from the Hinamatsuri event these days.

Nevertheless, ume (plum) blossoms and kawazu cherry blossoms are blooming, and gradually the cityscape is beginning to show the gentle colors of flowers.

Naturally, peaches are also beginning to bloom. I would like to become an adult who can afford to feel not only itchy and painful, but also a little tasteful once in a while.
